Okay I tried the demo and here is what I think:

Awesome! The game feels so good! The sounds are great, especially the Audi R8 V10.

The physics are great, the cars feel heavy and real. If you compare it to the physics GT5 Prologue I can say that it feels like the cars have more contact with the road. Forza 3 is more forgiving than GT5p and spinning a car will be very unlikely. When the car goes really really sideways, you just counter steer and the cars straightens out. That in my opinion is the only fault in the Forza 3 physics system. Drifting is unrealistically easy. It's hard to get the car drifting, but easy to control(to easy).

Overall very happy how it turned out. Racing will be great.
Now the wait till March 2010 is not so hard!

Good to hear! The drifting thing seems to have been a problem in the past though so I'm not really surprised it came up again.

Good to hear:tup:

I'm really glad i've bought an xbox.
I had a feeling that TGS would be more dissapointing than exciting from a GT5 perspective - playing FM3 in the mean time, means that i won't be as frustrated as i would have been if i had'nt bought the xbox.

I'm actually looking forward to it - especially the way the cars look with lowered suspension and hot, bigger rims - don't think that GT is gonna implement customization like that.

I just played the demo !
And it's real good , the cars sounds are great.
Graphics look good.
Pysics are great . And the sense of speed compared to GT5P is alot faster.

What an awesome game. I've only taken the JCW Mini out so far but it felt solid, weighty and yet nimble and nippy as the real car would. I even managed some neat lift off oversteer into a few corners and found it much more realistic trying to hold the slide!

The graphics are jawdroppingly beautiful, the only minor problem I've found so far is that the other cars in the replay tend to not have many/any reflections on in their bodywork when the camera is focused on your car.

First impressions: Feeling with the MS Wheel is immeasurably improved over Forza 2, doesn't have quite the same feeling off road as in NFS shift but is very nice on the road. Physics too early to judge for me (I've only done two laps!), but I do notice the mini is heavier than it would have been in F2 and the lock up threshold of the brakes is much more realistic. Getting the feeling it still could be a bit too much on the 'safe' side, although I haven't tried the powerful RWD cars yet.

Graphics I can't really comment on as I have a SDTV but even on that it looks great, the UI is typical Turn 10 greatness as with all the presentation.

Well, I wake up to a Forza 3 demo which will (read: would have) held me over along with Shift and GT PSP until whatever, but what else I woke up to was...guess what?

An RROD. Never again I'm tired of this POS, four times in a row.

I had 3 of mine go RROD. I sold the last one they sent me back that was refurbished, and went and bought a new Elite. Annoying indeed.

The good news is, thanks to nothing less than me being a computer technician I was able to get the hard drive working again through means I really didn't want to do...only problem now is it's apparently causing temporary lockups.

I'm sure I know what that problem is, I just don't know how to get to it - this is the last 360 I spend money on, if it dies...it just dies.

Normally I would say, if it dies, it dies. But now that I have another 3 year warranty and such a huge collection of games, I am in it for the long haul now. If my Elite dies after the 3 year, I assume the Arcade will probably be $99 or less by than. I will just pick that up and throw on my Elite HDD.

I'm massivley surprised. The cars feel so much more realistic, escpially the 4WD cars. They [the 4WD cars] don't get rocket launches anymore, and the Evo actually bogs down a bit off the line with the R8 spinning the rear wheels for a while aswell (a la real life). The cars have a tendency to understeer when pushed and the back end can get a bit light under braking and over crests in the Mini.

The sounds seem better aswell, people rated FM2's sounds but I always felt they sounded a bit too 'hollow'. The sounds in this demo are a lot more layered and of a higher quality.

Some criticisms though. The cars seem to have to much grip in the tyres and can carry too much speed through the corners and they tend to build speed to quickly in the straights aswell. The cockpits aren't great either, they seem to look slightly worse than PGR4's.

On the whole, though it's a very big and pleasant surprise for me, I'm glad I've already pre-ordered the LCE as it will help with the (very long) wait for GT5.

My first impression so far.

Holy crap this game is tight. The graphics are much improved. Environment and track details are awesome. Turn 10 did their homework.

The cars....even the Mini, FINALLY feel like cars that have weight to them. You can finally control the cars around corners, and spinning out isn't an occurrence that happens with extreme ease any longer. When you hit certain areas, the car jogs up and down like it would in real grass.

The force feedback in the MS wheel is noticeably better than it was with FM2 (which I didn't think was possible). You can feel the tires deform as you wrap around bends. You can feel it in the slide, feel it in the wheel. The physics are top notch. You can feel every bump, pebble, crack and strip as you go around the track. The feedback in your wheel is just top notch amazing.

Full sim, no assists, and hard AI, the game is crushing me. When I did that in FM2, I would walk all over the AI.

Interiors look great, with working gauges. I love the attention to detail. Too bad there isn't an option (in the demo?) to hide the steering wheel though, since I am already using one.

Handling, physics, graphics and the force feedback feel are just top notch. You can finally press the brake pedal with regular modulation...unlike with FM2 where you just tap the brakes and they would lock up.

And the sense of speed. Holy crap. You now actually feel like you are going the speed you are driving. DAMN.

I know I am complaining for no reason, but I wish the demo had more cars and tracks. I have been TEASED, and I need more!

Looks like I'm eating my words, Which is good as it seems they have fixed most of the problems with the physics. I'll probably write a bit more once I've played it a bit more.

Don't take my opinion as gospel though TGM. Others may not come to the same conclusion as me.

The only thing that's really annoying me about this demo is how close you sit to the steering wheel in the in car view. It's waaay too close, you can't even see the mirror in most of the cars!

I think you have it on granny mode .

Still dissapointing that the tracks are still glass smooth, (with the exception of the obvious jumps on the tracks).

I am back at work, so I can't post any pics/vids until I get back home (3pm).

Yes, the steering wheel is closer to you than it is in GT5p, but it's not an issue for me at least. The mirrors being cut off a bit prematurely does suck.

FM2 had tracks that were not glass smooth though. Silverstone being one off of the top of my head.

Demo's cool but the cockpit view is a little to close for my taste as stated above. Sounds are great! Damage is still the same as Forza 2 as far as I can tell. Back to it, now to test the GT3! ;-)

Demo is alright. The game looks kind of weird though after playing shift, and GT5p. I really don't know if I like the looks of it or not, it's kind of cartoonish, and almost looks like it's got a touch of cell shading going on somehow.

The cars feel pretty good though, but I really don't know if I like it better then shift. Maybe the feel of the game will change when I can get rid of the crappy M$ wheel, but right now it seems to be a little but of a let down. GT5 really doesn't have anything to worry about on the graphics side, and really at all. If GT5 doesn't blow Forza 3 out of the water, then I will be really surprised.

The cars feel way to smooth after playing shift. Shift gives you the feeling of the car being on the road, and forza has none of that feeling at all. In shift it feels like your in a race car with tight suspension, in forza it feels like the cars are lincoln continentals, but some of the lincolns go faster then others. They just kinda float down the road.

It's not a bad game, but I think the way shift gives the feel of speed and suspension travel, it's going to be hard to like another racing game, until I finally put shift away for good.

The only thing I would comment on is that it surely didn't look cartoony or feel like floating. On mine, these things were planted, and solid...best I have seen on a console so far.

Okay good post sir

NATTTTTTT
In shift you have to DRIFT cars to make them go round a corner n00b
