I'm getting ready to watch the Bears v Lions game at 8:30 but gonna get my last racing in with FM3 now. Any of you guys sure you don't want to join in? I'll be racing the V8 Supercars with A.I. filled in. No assists, forced cockpit on Lemans. GT: total ownership. Just send a PM if you want to get in. I'll probably run to 8:45 or so since they probably wont kick off at 8:30 on the dot.

I snapped that off the TV with my phone. It doesn't look that great a picture, although the background is fairly bland outside of the friend display.

Again, Best Buy Canada drops the ball, since there's no tracking info or email about my order. All I'm told on the website is:

"Scheduled for Ground Delivery Estimated Arrival: 10/07-10/18/2011"

Yep, those are the dates given. On an expedited order of a single video game. Curses.

Pick up a second copy tomorrow. No sense in waiting, right?

Wow guys, all that shortage of LCEs makes me doubt about my copy.... I preordered since the first trailer rolled out, lol. Then changed the order to LCE the very same day it was announced. All that just to avoid not having a copy on day one. Did the LCE really get those many preorders or was it under produced? Makes you think

Jut bought the VIP car pack and right when I started the game I got about 20 or so gift cars from Turn 10 including 2 Acura LMPs and a few Halo themed cars.

Altough they did not specify LCE or regular edition...

They usually don't specify the version to save time, no point in having someone record a slightly different message when a basic one will do.

Saying that, bring your receipt from when you pre-ordered just in case.

I think he is talking about FM3, you get a few cars with Halo liveries if you are a VIP.

Maybe. But AFAIK, these "LoD" didn't exist in FM3.

LOL you did good. Those cars are pretty tough to drive as I'm finding out. And they with all assists off it's really rough. Start using cockpit view though. It really does add to the immersion.

I'm ok with the cockpit view in GT5 and the FM4 demo but I never liked the angle in FM3. The view feels so obstructed. That's why that one race you saw me hugging the inside because I couldn't tell if you were beside me or not. Only after we got on a good straight I managed to finally hit the Y button to look back.

Pretty every single Forza game uses an LoD system.

I don't think you know what it means. Basically, the further away a car is, the lower the poly counts, reflection and texture resolutions etc are.

In FM3, the basic LoD of non player cars was woeful, it seems fixed in FM4.

No one else get this canned E-mail then? If you live in the UK and get an E-mail saying your FM4 has been shipped (Any pre order at any shop) it doesn't actually mean it has been shipped. It means it's been paid for, picked and is sat waiting delivery for launch day. They will not deliver it Wednesday or any other dream fantasy dates you can think of. 👍

That's been greatly improved too.

It's like the NPC cars in FM4 are your normal ingame cars from FM3 while your FM4 car is like the higher LoD car that rolled up to the grid in FM3 and the car that rolls upto the grid in FM4 is the photomode/preview car.
