I thought your Internet ruled out Xbone ? PS4/PC for you.

Hence the "just maybe" part at the end.

I'm sure not every game requires a "one time connection".

Still pretty ridiculous now that I think about it. PC games don't require a "one time connection". Neither did last generation consoles.

Don't understand why devs have to tie down gamers to these stupid pre-existing conditions!

Or I could just go to Wal-Mart or Gamestop.
Gamestop still sells PC games? Where? On that tiny rack in the back of the store? :P

In fairness, the PC gaming age does appear to be moving to the digital age completely. I haven't really seen any PC games in a store unless they're one of those ridiculously cheap $10 puzzle/strategy/kid games or a big MMORPG like Warcraft. I can't remember the last time I saw anything inbetween.

Probably varies according to country. Japan has quite a large volume of PC games available in stores. Australia has at least a shelf the size of the PSP/Vita stock, usually bigger.

If you wanted to buy any reasonably popular PC game as a disc, I doubt you'd have much trouble finding somewhere near you that sold it. You might not have known that they sold PC games, but it'll be there.

How do you get a PC game? A lot of PC games are digital downloads. Or you have to buy them online....requiring internet.

Young fella, are ya?

Games come from shops too. Trust us on this. Barring indie games, pretty much everything is still available on hard media.

Im 19. I have seen the age of the PS1 and such. Today's age is mostly digital. I havent seen any newer PC games at Gamestop, and I dont believe Walmart carries them either.

iRacing, Rfactor, BF3, etc...

rFactor is hardly a "newer PC game;" iRacing is so outside of the norm even for PC games (plus is, you know, multiplayer only) that it's irrelevant; and Battlefield 3 Premium Edition is currently sitting on shelves as a PC/Mac title in my local Wal-Mart, which has a section for PC games about the same size as the one they have dedicated to the PS Vita (albeit not behind the glass case and off to the side from the rest with the "regular" computer software).

So.

It is, but he was saying that is what it is now.

Okay so your right.

Damn Forza for requiring an internet connection. If you are playing on Xbox One you will need one to set it up Day 1 either way so whats the point? You are getting a XB1 but not Forza? Or neither? You seem to have internet.

:P = joke.

The fact I actually acknowledged a specific location in Gamestop means I know they do sell them.

Most PC games DO require a one time activation.

Target sells computer games (and actually displays them on an end cap which is prime real estate).

^^ Yeah, exactly.

I think I got my sights set on the PS4. Looks like Sony has managed to make the hardware more powerful than the Xbox One, yet again.. so long as the devs can take advantage of the extra oomph, I think I might be getting this.

AND.. as long as Sony doesn't hatch up any BS policies that require an internet connection in order to enjoy quality gaming...

Eh, not here...they push them into a little corner, then display COD up front. 👎

Anyways, don't complain about internet availability if you have the ability to go on forza/gtplanet and complain about it...

This video answers the whole "but PCs do it as well" thing better than I could.

Thanks for this post. I really didn't understand a lot of the angst about DRM, and this guy did a really good job summarizing the issue. His argument seems pretty powerful. Particularly his argument about the competitive options available on the PC.

Well , i make this comparative .
Up is Forza4 and down maybe Forza5.
The developpement of Forza5 start in 2011,maybe Tsukuba was one of the first " remaked " circuit . We can see that tarmack is textured very weel in comparison with Forza4 and the general tons colors look like Prague ... The grey of the road look good ;)

Hmm. Interesting comparisons. Notice the shadows also. FM4 didn't have any variable times of day on Tsukuba. The sky box is different also.. looks almost unfinished. I don't know. Looks very weird. If I'm seeing correctly, I can see a orange like gradient on the skybox. Sunrise, sunset? Seriously confused though.
