It's not necessarily a matter of defending my opinion, but there's no harm in covering different viewpoints. Nothing is stopping him from reporting back himself in case he wasn't disagreeing.
You're right. Attack first, and figure out if its the enemy later.

Does it really matter what the challenge was? It's 2 cars that have already been available in the past that are now available again for the people that missed them.

I think you know my opinion. Any challenge that involves base game prize cars while requiring Gold subscription or services external to the game itself is borderline scam.

It's 2 cars that have already been available in the past that are now available again for the people that missed them.

And now I'll miss them twice. I keep forgetting why Turn 10 bothered to create the Specialty Dealer.

So while we're keeping track of how many times certain cars have become available, is anybody keeping track of how many times people swear they're leaving a franchise?

I'm only here to clean the floors, see what cars come in DLC packs and will probably come for Horizon 4, and see continual saga of T10 falling on its face.

Fake Edit: Aside from the jokes...I *want* Forza Motorsport to be a good game. As I am sure everyone else does. The things you can do in the game is something that no other sim offers since GT went e-sports chasing. But with how FM7 has shaped up - and with the state of the Xbox brand as a whole, alongside T10's poor quality control, I am worried for the future of Motorsport.

 Gold costs less per month than Netflix does, I fail to see your point.

My point is that I don't care about multiplayer or anything in the Xbox realm that doesn't involve Forza. My console might hit the trash can depending on the appeal of what Playground Games comes up with next. You're telling me I'd be wise to subscribe for a few cars unlocking as League rewards every now and then?

Let's hope Turn 10 does.

Don't get me wrong, I actually have no problem with people who post in here — or in any of the other game-specific sections — that they're done with a franchise. It's just funny, in a Boy-Who-Cried-Wolf way, when someone does it ad nauseum.

Yep, I want all of the current racing games to be the best they can be. This delay is incredibly frustrating, especially since we know the contents and it even showed up on the store, but it's also a rarity. I can't think of the last time Turn 10 flat-out delayed something: there was the long-held tradition of DLC on the first Tuesday, but that's never been in stone.

Once we see entire games delayed for an entire calendar rotation or more, then that's cause for concern. It's strange how different expectations are for each different dev in the sim racing world.

As for Motorsport's future: I admit, I do wonder what happens with FH3 seemingly being the big seller now. It also makes me wonder how Playground will handle that with FH4, and with developing a whole other title alongside it.

For someone that concerned about the value of things, I do have to wonder why you'd toss a perfectly usable console in the trash instead of selling it.

Let's hope Turn 10 does.

But do they count every repeated post about it by the same person as multiple losses, or just the one?

I'll admit I'm the boy who cried wolf with FM7. After being underwhelmed with 5 and 6, I said I wasn't going to bother with 7, but the Dubai track, a whole new world of Porsches and all the historical race cars convinced me to change my mind. And I've been quite pleased with the car selection, both the in the base game and DLC. The thing is everything T10 did to "improve" FM7 are exactly the things that have turned me off. Homologation and locked cars, and all the hoops we have to jump through to get the base content are the biggest offenders. I'm pretty sure I won't get 8, but I might wait and see if they get back to the simplicity of FM4 where if you wanted a car, all you had to do was earn the credits and buy it. There were no ridiculous barriers between the player and the cars that are in the base game that I already paid for.

Boo. Want the GTO, but doubt I’ll be able to catch a stream in its entirety to answer 2 polls during it.

One of the polls took place a little before the stream and the other was only about an hour, at the most, into the broadcast.

But of course, no matter what T10 saids or does most will still hate them for it. Have this been PD "Don't worry PD, take as much time you need."

(Since both bolded posts are related)

I mean, it comes with the territory. Polyphony was the top dog and the originator for the longest time, so people are willing to be patient with them. But nowadays, people are too trusting of Polyphony. They have lied, missed deadlines, and generally have eroded trust and expectations from the company arguably since GT5 Prologue. No longer are they the top dog, but lagging behind massively, but are only insulated by their experience in the genre and because they are one of the most important first party studios Sony has, especially on the Japanese front.

On the other end, T10 has been well regarded as being efficient and quick on the draw (however, since arguably FM4, said efficiency has come at the cost of quality control, especially in 6 and 7) but with a game that offered precious little compared to the outgoing title, and a disastrous (putting it lightly) release cycle, confidence has eroded fast, and it's showing in how people are dragging T10 across the coals.

Really, it's what the developer gives you that allows you to set expectations.

I missed the broadcast, so I missed out on the polls and the 60 minute quest. Turns out I already had the 599GTO, so all I missed out on was the Astronaut Modern suit. But honestly, that's what I wanted the most. I've been wanting that suit from the beginning of the game.

Selling it may be an option but I doubt there are many buyers left for the the original Xbox One, and mine happens to have a noticeable cosmetic imperfection. For now I can only hope that Playground Games is currently developing a great game without any plans to continue down the sad road Turn 10 currently insists on. FM8 is a complete no go for me at this point because I have no reason to believe that the constantly worsening situation will improve.

But do they count every repeated post about it by the same person as multiple losses, or just the one?

Who cares as long as all the negativity eventually accumulates to inspire the following question at Turn 10: "Guys and girls, are we in touch with our community or are we simply mistreating our fans just because we for some twisted reason feel like it?"

So then it doesn’t do me any good regardless.

Just release the stupid cars. Shouldn’t have to watch a stream or vote in a poll to have something that was included in the base game. :ouch::indiff:

I checked out the new Prize crates last night. You get 2 cars, a badge, a driver gear, and a mod. All for around 440 thousand, give or take. At first, I thought another rip-off. But, you get better buy back prices for the cars, and fair return on the Driver gear you already own. Since I have 50 million CR to spend I thought I might go for a buying spree. I already own almost all the cars possible, and still have more Driver Gear and Badges to get, and I can always use a few more Mods. I bought 5 of each of the Makers chests. I also bought 15 of the Drivers gear chest for 25,000. All told I spent 6,700,000. I ended up getting quite a bit of Legendary class cars, none of which I opted to keep, and sold them all. (a couple Bugatti's and a couple of Keonigseggs, the top one's being 750,000 sell price). I got only a few of Driver suits I needed, a few badges I needed, a few petty Mods. All in All, I got MOST OF MY MONEY BACK, ( a net loss of 750,000 more or less). I did pick up a few cars that I wanted multiples of, 4 gold badges, and about 5 driver gears. The mods, you'd be better off buying the expert Mods packs, but it's a decent add on. If you have money to spend I think it's not too bad of an option.

Some post on the official Forza forum claims that the AMG SL65 will be available until April 14th, but for some reason I cannot easily find any info about the challenge. What's required to get it?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

Forza Week in Review 4-6-18
For example, with our upcoming Round 1 Booster Rivals Qualifier, which goes live on April 12, you’ll be able to earn the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series just for setting a time.

The middle one is the best one to actually make money, they're in alphabetical order and that's where the Lambos and Koenigseggs are. Lots of money with those.

Does anyone have the Audi suit? It's the only manufacturer driver gear I don't have, and I've been buying crate after crate trying to get it with no luck. I'm starting to wonder if it's actually available.

I have it, I probably got it as a level reward.
Then it's just the game being stingy. I've spent about 20,000,000 credits on the suit crate trying to get all the non-legendary suits. I've got every one except Audi.

To be fair, I don't think homologation to be per se a bad thing - as a matter of fact, I wanted them to implement something a bit like this since the FM4 days. The problem is that, like with many other things featuring in FM7, it lacks polish. But the fact that there is, say, a Vintage Sport Compact division where cars like the Alfa Giulia, Ford Cortina and BMW 2002 can all be somewhat competitive is definitely a positive; it used to be that players needed to figure out their homologation rules, now there are some handy presets that may just require minor adjustment in some cases, and are good to go as-is in some others.

As for T10 locking base game cars behind things like the Special Needs Dealer, Forzathons and Rival Events, well, let's just hope they've learned their lesson. I guess we'll see whether or not Microsoft Studios (which make no mistake, are the real shot callers here) has deemed this decision beneficial or detrimental to the franchise in FH4 already.

I think it may have been the second or third suit I got in the game, so it was definitely available back in October. Is there a list of the suits available through level-ups and crates somewhere? I've been trying to get the Finish First gear, but haven't had any luck so far...

My main issue with FM7 homologation is that it doesn't really solve any of the issues that Forza's open PI system has. The problem with an open PI system (as opposed to homologation) is that the efficiency of each car in terms of PI to actual performance is going to be different, which is how we end up with leaderboard cars like the 33 Stradale which make a good portion of the 700-odd cars pretty much redundant, as well as cars like the 3000GT which end up being unusable because they can't get their PI low enough. Homologation was intended to limit this by restricting horsepower, maximum tyre width, and PI, but with no maximum weight and no minimum tyre width it's all too easy for some cars to reach absurd power-to-weight figures and still remain legal by homologation standards. As well as this, open-class races have zero homologation restrictions whatsoever (outside of PI of course) so all of the issues there still remain.

Well, as I said - the system lacks polish and definitely needs significant improvements to achieve its intended results. However, it's a start. Of course, a significant reworking to the PI system is still much needed, and you're spot on, the lack of weight and lower tyre width limits have resulted in certain divisions being dominated by one specific car model (the mind goes to the Hoth Hatch Icons, which has basically become the EK Civic Spec), but the situation is not as dire as it was in the past, where essentially only seven or eight cars in the game were competitive.

Of course, there is still much to be done; not only in further adjusting the homologation system, but also in fixing Forza's broken PI ratings, for example by reducing the PI penalty for heavier rims (which don't seem to affect the handling of most cars all that much) and Forza aero (which actually improves it significantly, especially under braking). Seeing as it took 12 years for T10 to make this small step, I won't get my hopes up just yet. But still, I feel like homologation has mostly improved my experience in Forza.

I've been trying to get the Finish First gear, but haven't had any luck so far...
You can get them by buying the 25K Cr suit and badge crate in the bottom right corner. It gives out every suit except Legendary (or the new suits they've just added). I've completed my non-Legendary suit collection (except for that accursed Audi suit) using just that crate.
