Well a slightly daft setup needs a slightly daft paint job to go with it. :D

Although it’s not as daft as the more extreme of the 2 donks I have, which is set up for drag racing( yes really), lowered front, raised rear, 5.9 racing V8 etc.

Capable of low 23(maybe high 22) second standing mile runs. 👍

I just bought 13 of the Car Prize Kits, 4 of each and a 5th of the last one. Now I HAVE TO Sell cars I don't want to!
I think I will get rid of the SUVs and Trucks, since I never use them.
Oh, and the MAXIMUM is 900 cars. Beware! Don't let this happen to you. Why couldn't they make the Maximum a nice EVEN 1000 cars??? UGh!

I did the 81 lap endurance race to win the Ford GT Le Mans and didn’t receive it due to this.:banghead::banghead:

How can I see the time/lap difference between myself and the leader on an ongoing basis during the race? I think on GT it would show the time difference between myself and the leader at intervals.

I'm trying to find something like that too, but I can only see the gap between drivers. I don't know if you can get the time difference between them like in GT.

Under options --> HUD, there's a "distance ahead" option that tells you how far or behind you are to other cars. The default is mutiplayer only, but you can set it to "On" all the time.

If you want to see the best lap times for each cars, it's in the pause menu.

If you're looking for last/best lap and other details, I haven't seen that.

That's unfortunately not a thing anymore. I wish we had the option to chose between time and/or distance ahead/behind, but alas, it's been this way for 7 games (10 if you include Horizon) and I don't think it's going to change.

I too would much prefer a time ahead like every other game has. Although with the spectator data view we have now, it may be possible to add it into the HUD on FM8 (whenever that's due out).

Box left side, 4 sets of figures, way too small to read. Is that it? My name, a figure and 3 others.

You're welcome. And that's it, although I don't have trouble reading it. I might be sitting too close.

https://www.destructoid.com/wargaming-seattle-has-reportedly-been-shut-down-504338.phtml

Reports are coming out on Twitter that Wargaming Seattle (formerly Gas Powered Games) has been shut down. A branch of Wargaming, which is famous for World of Tanks, the studio was founded in 1998 by Chris Taylor (Dungeon Siege) and members of Cavedog Entertainment. While the studio had come under hard times in 2013, they were eventually acquired by Wargaming and were working on an unknown project.

Subsequently:

Where did my rear view window go? I drive in the view where you are outside the car, you cant see any part of the car and top of screen used o be window showing me who is behind me. It is gone.

OK accidentlly turned off in HUD. While there I see you can change camera from bumper to hood etc? Is that in addition to the different views we can choose from or is that the views that we can change while driving?

I think there is a box in the HUD options where you can check if you want the rearview mirror or not.

Yeah, I mentioned that in my post after I first wrote it (thanks), but what about the view options in options HUD, they dont do anything different I presume that you can do while driving and changing views?

They display the default view, which is the last you used while playing.

Hey all. I'm still new to the game and have some general observations, and no one in my daily life would care to discuss the game. So...

- I've been playing with photo mode a bit and noticed no one is driving that truck in Dubai.
- The different dealers are a bit confusing, but I think I have it mostly figured out. I even found some a couple previous specialty dealer cars in the auction site, a Subaru Legacy B4 (I like the car and nearly bought a real one) and one of the special Miatas. Miata20 or something. I even took a rather poor low light photo of the Legacy. The 944 in the rain is a bit better, though. And I'm a little unsure of the BRZ and a big rock.
- I also auctioned off a couple Audis which sold immediately. Then I tried auctioning off a racing Audi, mainly because the livery contains a previous employer's logo. No one bid, so I just repainted it.
- I'm unsure how selling cars will affect tier progression.
- I tried multiplayer, as well as the leagues. I kind of like the ghost race leagues. I did try a couple simulation races, which were mixed, as at least two players were just ramming. It also looks like I've muted everyone. I only intended to mute one person, but everyone's silenced, and I'm okay with that.
- The Climbkana racing gear is always labeled as "new." Minor thing, though.
- I don't care for the badges. At least in 6 (and I think a few earlier games) the badge people choose was interesting, like if a person picked the platinum clean laps icon it showed some type of achievement and dedication. Now it's not more than, "I guess that person likes the flower shape thing better than the rock/bear shape thing." Again, minor.
- I'd like quicker access to test drive/solo lapping, but I can deal with it.
- Being able to adjust tuning on the fly is nice, but I did have a kind of glitch. I was adjusting gear ratios on a straightaway, rewinding a bit, and trying again. When I resumed the gear changed to reverse, and the car went into an continual, tire-squealing spin.
- Overall I'm liking it. I wasn't sure what to expect given a lot of the critical reviews, but I'm finding a lot to like.

[observations]
Yeah, no one cares about the badges.
I have 13 suits that always say "new". It's a weird thing and it would seem to be so simple to fix. I guess not.
Selling cars will lower your collector points, but not the tier. However the tier won't go up until you make up those points.
Leagues will get better as you go up in rank. Higher rank drivers are usually much better racers and rarely if ever ram other drivers. At least on purpose.

I hope next mainline forza is given extra development time and is targeted at nextgen xbox, there's nothing left to show on standard xbone after 3 games, it's also clear that with growing complexity of games 2 years isn't enough to produce substantial improvement, even other yearly games like Cod and Assassins Creed have increased their dev cycles. There is really no need for FM8 for xbox one at this point. They should focus at being 2020 launch title for xbox next.

Maybe Forza 8 will include the full IndyCar season......

Your Collector Tier score will go down, but the badge will always stay at your peak value.

  • When going for the 700 cars Achievement I ended up on Tier 33.
  • Immediately after that I sold about 600 cars.
  • My Collector Tier stayed at 33, but the Tier Points went down. My Collector Tier won't increase until I get back up to that point level (which I have no intention of doing).

I'm actually playing the online mode for once, I usually just play free play mode as I don't trust myself with racing against actual people (I have issues with changing driving lines when multiple opponents are around). It's a fricken demolition derby everytime I start! I've been smashed around, hitting people myself (on accident, I brake too late for these guys apparently), and I'm making constant mistakes in corners. It's fun however, I suck at it, but I'm having fun.

I'm also trying to find good tunes. The only good tuner I know so far is who the Super GT youtube guy recommends, JSR LeeCampbell (Thank you JSR LeeCampbell).
