A misty morning at Silverstone. A full grid of LMP1 cars roll around the final corner of their out-lap. Tensions rise in the paddock as the drivers near the start finish to start the race. The steward waves his flag as the noise of more than twenty engines erupts into the British skies. All goes well as everyone makes it through the first few corners in one piece and start their respective battles for position. Several laps go by before more clouds settle in and dense fog envelops the track, we can only apologize for the poor visibility on your screens today. But what's this!? One of the competitors has stopped mid-corner, what kind of malfunction could have caused this? Engine failure, or possibly electrical problems judging from the lack of lights on the car. The pack rounds the corner and the leader has barely any time to avoid the stricken car but manages what his pursuers can't. They hardly seem fazed though as they seemingly pass through the unfortunate participant. The next lap passes in much the same manner, the one after that however, a mistake is made. Running wide coming into the corner the leader runs square into the back of the stranded vehicle, causing a horrific crash its velocity carries it into a front flip. Who could surv.... *hits rewind button* It seems the previously stationary car has managed to get going again, and is now rocketing its way down the straits as its taillights disappear into the fog.
I've run into several bugs so far, but this one had to have been the creepiest. Though possibly this was just because of the lovely British weather I had in the race. I don't know how the AI got stuck, but apparently the rewind function messed enough with the physics of the game to confuse it back into action. A nice change considering it usually sends them skidding into a corner if used at an "inopportune time".
