the cars in gt4 may look better (realistic anyway), but the track detail in forza is the best ever. and forza has better physics than gt3 by far. gt3 you could just pick up and play, forza you have to learn how to race correctly. how the physics in gt4 are i don't know so i can't compare forza and gt4 yet.

And it is still translated into a measure of grip individual to the front or rear.
Same thing...different approach. Why does that make it better?
 
forza doesn't have the best tracks ever. If it did, the nurburgring in forza would actually look realistic but it doesn't, it looks more like something from a NFS game.
 
Devil, Forza's audio (car sounds mainly) are leaps and bounds ahead of GT4, a Corvette finally sounds like it should in Forza.

And to Cobra, the physics in Forza are 1 mile ahead of GT3 I can tell you this. The brake problem you are pointing out is brake lock, a thing that happens when your car has no ABS and you slam the brakes. I recognize it was a bit exagerrated in the demo, but this will be corrected in the final game.

They are more complex, they take into account almost everything you can think of from tyre deformation (which is also included in Forza) to things like the aerodynamics of your car over all your car, GT4 uses a parameter for the front and another for the rear and thats it, every part of the cars body creates either lift or downforce games like GTR simulate that in it's entierity, I could go on but it's been covered a few times before in this thread and if people are really that interested in finding out if GT4 is so good they can find out for themselves.

With 300 parameters, gt4's cars simulate more than just downforce. What about weight? gt4 has some of the best car body roll I have ever seen

In GT4, you will discover what a Corvette DOES sould like.
I watch lots and lots of Corvettes race every week during the season at the local strip, and I'm sure you'd be surprised at the sound differences between the cars themselves.
In fact, a factory stock Corvette is actually rather quiet.

Cobra I was talking about the aerodynamics in GT not EVERYTHING, the aerodynaics of the cars in GT are set by two parameters, grip, weght and other things are not aerodyamics, besides you say 300 parameters as if thats great,300 for one car is nothing tbh, a real car has thousands. You've yet to see cars showing body roll in Forza because the majority of the screens are race cars or cars on straight roads, they do roll in Forza realistically.

Err, no it's not the same thing differet approach, it's the same approach but bigger, it's a larger set of parameters, a much larger set of them, Forza also has a lager set for the tyres and suspension, that I know and I would put my money on every aspect of the car being the same in Forza, goverend by a larger set of parameters, and remeber the Forza team are using just as much real data and telemetry as PD did fo GT4.

i got 2 Xbox and 2 PS2 at home.

i could careless on the price of them now since i got them a long time ago and i know xbox is still like 10-20 bux more then the PS2 price now.


and i've played both. Forza just plain suck. i doubt the final version of Forza is gonna be any better then the demo.

having a ferrari doesnt make the game better... i think Forza is a disgrace to Ferrari. especially when the 360 doesnt even sound like the one in real life. but wait, u probably never even seen a real one before....

Because forza has ferrari doesn't mean it's the better game. The gt series has been doing so lovely without ferrari or porsche because the playability is awesome but you know, forza's playability just seems...........boring

And you sound like an arogant p***k, but whatever yes i've seen a few 360 modenas actually at my place of work, I work at Glasgow Airport and i've seen one and heard it drive away whilst in Toronto it was actually at the lamborghini dealership in toronto (seriously) I have a picture.

The sounds in Forza Motorsport are above and beyond anything that Gran Turismo is offering up.

I have a playstation 2 with Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, Gran Turismo 4 Prolouge & BMW 1 Series demo and comparing Forza's demo to "ANY" Gran Turismo 4 demos you can tell a few things.

The Physics are more advanced, and closer to real life in Forza Motorsport.
The Sounds are better than Gran Turismo 4 (They dont sound like electric pencil sharpners)
The Track Details are above and beyond what Gran Turismo has produced.

You sound like a little fanboy who needs some attention. Me personally am looking forward to both Gran Turismo 4 & Forza Motorsport it's p****s like you who really get up my nose.

I have a nit for judging a sim's physics by looking at the body roll of the cars. Right now, I'm very impressed with enthusia's and gt4's physics because both games have convincing body roll for the cars. I played the forza demo at gamestop and I'm yet to see body roll that's even better than gt3's body roll to be honest. Well, it is a demo so I'll give it that.

No having Ferrari doesn't make Forza a better game, but it's better than not having them, and how the hell do you know what Forza's playability will be like from an old demo. Personally I think more customisation, good enough graphics, better sound quality, more tuning options a better car list (even though theres less than GT4 it's made of better chosen cars), damage and better physics, the vast number of races and cups in Forza all coupled with 8 player online will make a quite playable game.
 
You supposely know forza has realistic body roll but you are yet to give me any media to prove it. More customization? Well I dont really care for the rice stuff but the adding spoiles is neat and I like it but all that decal adding can be kept for NFS UG. forza has better sound quality, ha! Forza does have some nice tuning options but gt4 has alot and nice things aswell so forza does win in tuning, it's not in a land slide. better carlist is very opinionated. better physics? where's the evidence? developer's word? I wish gt4 had online, that'd be sweet but I can see forza only being good online. Forza's damage isn't anything to brag on but hey, atleast it has it but I'll wait for the next gen racer for realistic damage. Judging from the demo I played, the gameplay is average at best.

Right. I couldnt care less wich game will be better or not! If you're into racegames, both games will be "must-haves", no doubt about it. I don't understand this "PS2 vs Xbox"-thing.

OMG!!!! what are u thinking with, Im sorry but how can u say that the best driving game in the world sucks??? with what i have seen of forza gt4 is 3 times better! forza doesent look near realistic at all, thats what i think... :sly:
 
GT4 has a hell of a lot of nice things yes, Forza offers you the chance to tune your car how you wan't. I'm not much of a fan of rice kits but Forza offers people Aero kits as well, you have the choice.
So 1-0 to Forza.
Decals, these are found on race cars as also seen in GT1,2,3,C,4:P and GT4 so if you don' like them in Forza you can't like them in GT4 either, however Forza allows you to create your own race car complete with your own selection of sponsors and decals.
2-0 to Forza.
Improved physics model has been implemented, how it will translate into playability in the final build we don't yet know so that has to be a no score draw, the same should be said for the AI.
Still 2-0 Forza
Tuning and setting up your car in Forza is quite a lot deeper than in GT4, and to me thats important, you can change and set loads more stuff in Forza.
3-0 to Forza
Graphics, orzas are better technically, pushing more poly's and so on, GT4's have a more real look to the thats a draw.
4-1 to Forza.
Forza has 8 player online, a huge plus to me and promises many features including online trading and car clubs ect.
5-1 to Forza.
I have so much respect for Gran Turismo but when a game with more promise is shown I'm no a PD lap dog I'll get interested in that new game.
 
Gt4 will be the test driving simulator :P You all know how test driver just drives cars around the track, that's how I see gt4 honestly. To be honest, I'd enjoy driving on the track rather than racing against other cars. I'm gonna be in front of them at some point anyway but when it comes to racing, serious racing, I set up a lan party or play gtr :P
