I've experienced the hopping sensation, but on replays, no lift.

Still have GT4, but I lent my PS2 out... maybe I will look into it, but we've had loooong discussions about this in the GT4 forums before, and nobody has produced any proof of tire-lift (though we all vainly tried...)

It's all been posted in the Forza thread, feel free to discuss forza news over there :)

Much appreciated. 👍

Comment on the screenshot(s) then. Looks like T10 is finally paying attention to vehicle dynamics, if you notice on the SL65 Black the rear wing is up. As I've said before it looks like Forza 3 is going to improve on all of the fall-backs (IMO) that Forza and Forza 2 had.

Looking at the SL65 Black the wing is fixed, apparently active aero and other various moving body parts are still not functional in FM3. This has been seen so far on the cover car the Audi R8 5.2FSi among others (LP640 etc), it has been a fairly hot topic at FM.net.

Oh, boy. That's much worse than not having the active dynamics deploy at all.

Is it really that hard? I mean, come on. :yuck:

Alright. I believe this to be particularly appropriate for this thread due to the "Why we're better..." I found the thread you were referring to, and it's comedic how people come to defend the lack of this by saying such things as "It's just a waste..." or "When you consider what we're getting...active aerodynamics won't really matter." I paraphrase for both, not so much for the former though but it's really not...professional. Is it really that hard to define a physical feature of a specific vehicle? In Forza 2 these certain vehicles had no such attention and were, as I say, acting upon invisible downforces. As it seems in Forza 3 the feature is either just as non-apparent or would be as Jay describes, fixed. It defies being a simulation in my opinion in that particular aspect due to the avoidance of an obvious and beneficial design ethic that Manufacturers have obviously added for one reason, or several of them at once.

They'd just as well not model the tires then. I find it hard to be definitive when you're not paying attention to the smallest, yet significant details.

EDIT: Bit of a mistake on my part, I hit "Quote" instead of "Edit" and now I'm talking in third person - merge, please, before I appear to be a nutjob.

The feature of moveable body parts (wings, inlets etc) in FM3 is non apparent, but on that SL65 Black the spoiler is fixed, like as on the real car it doesn't move but it appears to be a optional item (on the real car).

Does GT5p have moveable body parts? I haven't owned any cars yet that would have them since I am still early in my career (just starting Class A)

Sweet. I have never played GT4 or GT3 or GT2 or GT1. GT5p is my first experience in GT, which I just got a couple weeks ago.

Oh, a GT newcomer. 8)
One little thing: Dont judge the series features and gameplay with Prologue.
GT4 had 10 times the cars, almost 10 times the tracks, real tuning, photomode and many more stuff.

Just saying.^^

Never saw this thread before... OH Now im pretty desapointed! OH yeah hearing from the guys that made the game saying that they are better than GT in every "turn"... Right, it proves a lot!:yuck: I say one thing: ILL ALWAYS PLAY GT NO MATTER WHAT! Im happy about GT for a decade and no other game will change that!

Thanks Ace. I am aware of the prologue limitations, and I did tons of research on GT4. I have always been racing Forza 1, Forza 2 and now GT5p and Race Pro 09. I expect great things with GT5 based on my research of GT4 and my GT5p experience. I plan on dedicating all my racing to Forza 3 and GT5 when they are out.

Whoever wrote post #53 & #52 is a riot. He claims he knows what's he talking about, yet his only argument is bringing up the collision physics.

Gotta say, I love the people quoting other reviews & taking them out of context or keeping out the negatives & scores of said reviews.

Need for Speed Shift could well be, it's certainly a sim oriented game.

Exactly, Could be. It could be complete crap too. I just think its dumb to compare an unfinished build of a game to a game that hasn't even released yet.

...and I know its NFS:Shift..

They've played it, they will know if it is in the proper sim ball park or not. We can only say it could be, they can say if it actually is or not, relative to thier definition of a sim anyway.

Using your logic, GT5 could be complete crap too. :sly:

I have just read totalvideogames.com preview, and about this: "if you plough headfirst into a barrier at 180mph, then don't expect the car to resemble a crushed can of Coke (believe us, we've tried). On the contrary in fact, the car will retain pretty much all of its structural integrity"

Perhaps we'll have the same problem on GT5. You know Kazunori always says he doesn't like cars be destroyed, they are industrial art objects... and things like that.

Yes, we won't know until the game be released, is just an opinion, but, think about it please.

It's all moot regarding damage anyway because even if the developers wanted to have the cars crushed to bits after big crashes the manufacturers will never sign it off. You will not see licensed road cars being heavilly damamged in any game, the chassis and sub frame is usually the absolute limit a car can be deformed to.
