Shift will have "sidewall tireflex". It has been mentioned in a couple interviews. They actually got the guy tire physics programmer from Richard Burns Rally (the most realistic rally game out there) to do the tire physics for Shift. Shift has great potential but until we get a demo we know nothing. The same can be said for FM3. Anyways back on topic.

I can see where the OP is coming from with the initial post ... it's the distinct lack of real information though that's behind everyone's frustrations!

I didn't read the whole post because I'm tired, but I will say that I'm not a "PD fanboy" or a Sony fanatic.

I'm speaking from experience when I say that I have played Forza, I hated it, and in my opinion there is nothing out there that compares to the way GT physics feel so far. Now, that's just my opinion, so don't bite my head off.

Forza 3 release will come and go, and I will wait patiently for GT5 like I have been.:)

But at least you read the tamaguchi doll part! BTW, I didn't mean to call you out as a PD fanboy. But I myself have suffered from PD can do no wrong in the eyes of me. Thats the only reason I said it. No offense indented. I think I just got frustrated.. had some downtime.. and posted this here because it irritates me. I'll keep an eye on it in the future.

I did play it at e3, but it was only for a moment and the LMP cars aren't exactly the best example of physics in the game. I say they probably got close to the physics by now.. Because F2 was so terrible when it came to physics/bodyroll, and it does seem like their mission is to tackle GT... so that is an assumption on my part.

My point about the video is that they are trying to do the same thing GT did, but in an honest non-clearly sponsored fashion over years and years. These guys just all happened to be at the Forza3 booth that day.. I should have used quotes.. for the AkA part.

One by one Turn 10 are upping the stake's, they have manufactuer's GT fan's dream of and are showing full damage is possible.

The old excuse's from PD look rather silly, the fact Turn 10 are running ring's around PD on the PR side will be forgiven if GT5 is amazing, but if the release slip's into 2010 and feature's are missing, PD can hand over their crown to Turn 10.

That's what competition is all about, you have to give credit when/if they deliver the good's.

Yamauchi isn't saying GT5 is a better game than Forza 3. Forza developers, on the other hand, go as far as to say the game has the best physics of them all. GT5 has nothing to prove to anyone. Forza does.

That still proves nothing. You can't say one game is any better then any other game when neither game is actually out. Saying GT5 has nothing to prove is a real fanboy-ish statement. They do have a lot to prove to the gaming community.

I'm starting to run out of reasons that I'd prefer GT over F3 that aren't just based on nostalgia.. GT's A.I still bumps into you if you stop on the track as if you aren't even there...

The AI is a bit ******, but GT5P is like a BETA so we all hope its sorted in the final game. The AI in Forza 2 smashes in to the back of you on just about every corner, John from 1UP said he had been to the Turn10 studio and they said that the AI learns from you live in game. Haha bull$hit

Lets just see how things are when both games are out, just because MS say there game is the best in the world doesn't mean it is!!

this thread, if what, is flamebaiting fanboys from both camps. just let it be, leave it alone, don't post and it dies, getting buried with the rest of flamebaiting threads.
Why bother making posts like this? All you're doing is just bringing it back up to the top of the New Posts page.

Then why does Che get to say this?

Re-explaining this is tiresome.

First of all, 25% damage isn't FULL DAMAGE.

Second, different makes suffer DIFFERENT levels of damage in Froza.

Third, Polyphony is dealing with many more manufacturers. Are you going to be happy having 800 cars and only 500 some odd suffer realistic damage, while the rest take NONE?

Look, if losing a tin foil bumper you can run over with no consequence is so important to you, there are greener pastures just over the next monopoly - I mean hill.

Because T10 has specialness. :D

Have you played Forza2 with full damage switched on.
You can have a bad crash where you lose nearly all of the engine power with smoke billowing from the exhaust
You can have engine failure, gearchanging faults etc.
I have all the GT games and none have had any damage at all.

The damage and physics in the game have been revamped over the previous game, allowing for multiple settings: "simulation," which is the most severe, allowing for damage that can take a car out of commission; "limited," which scales down the severity of impact of crashes; and "cosmetic," where the damage is merely visual.[4] The damage ratings for each part of the vehicle can be seen on the HUD (heads up display) accessed from the in-game menu.

Lo and behold, a couple of videos of Forza 3 is all it takes to send people into thread starting rashes knocking on GT5's assumed lack of features.

If Forza 3 is so much better than GT5 maybe you should go out and buy it...right now.

People are excited about Forza 3 because we've had a good few month's of information, confirmation of great car's and feature's, a significant graphical leap forward, an October release date, and some excellent first hand report's from people like Sim Racing Tonight.

That's a mountain of information compared to GT5, yet the GT5 forum is packed with thread's.

I just do not get why people can't wait. Honestly there has not been a TGS where something new about GT has not been revealed. TGS is only a couple of months away. At the worst GT5 will not come out for another 12-14 months. It is clear that the game is near completion. NFS Shift should prove to be a good tie me over as will Forza 3 if you have a 360. And if that does not float your boat there are tons of great PC sim racing games out there with new cars and tracks being modded on almost weekly.

Because kids these days are spoiled and used to getting what they want right now. Me me me now now now want want want etc etc.

It is clear that the game is near completion.

Indeed. If only all kids would be as calm and reasonable about this as you are.

PD can hand over their crown when Turn10 sells 50 million copies of Forza

that won't happen for a while, unless they include first two Forzas.. and then there's the fact that original GT's have reached a collectible status.

Forza 3 looks cartooney to me.
I'm sure it will be a good game, but it looks like a cartoon from the videos.

Everybody knows PD aims high but most people look worried because forza has shown much more at this point.

Nice summup amar:tup:

Oh brother.

Look, I got bored one day and decided to do a little torture testing, and ran on the Sunset/Nissan Speedway oval backwards, with Simulation damage. I hit a bot driver head on. And we both kept going. And I did it again. Several times. And yes, I did go slower each time until I was finally crawling, but tell me that's realistic.

I have to ask if YOU'VE played FM2 with Simulation damage.

And yes Amar, that is a great summation. 👍

yes... yesterday i look very carefully to the detailed parts that yamauchi put in his car in gt5p....
its amazing the works they did.. every car seems live...

GT5 is going to be released some time soon, we will all buy it, we will play it and we will love it. Why should we care about Forza 3?
If you are lucky to have both systems, buy both games, you cant go wrong there i guess.

No, I didn't really. Before any speculation begins, TBA just means nothing has been officialy said about some particular feature. Sorry for possible confusion.
