you said gamers do not care about blu ray, or wifi etc when comparing the ps3 to the 360. i am telling you cannot have an arcade equivalent of the ps3. that's why your comparing of both situations are totally irrelevant. Gamers who don't care about features does not make it justifable to compare a 360 to a ps3. The 360 is still the most expensive console with so many expensive proprietary stuff attached to it.
oh by the way stop acting as a beacon of light and fairness. for someone who pretends to hate MS you do a pretty job of defending all things Xbox. Go on. No one is going to hold it against you.

Only just noticed your above comment.
I cannot disagree with your comment about Sony enough. I love Sony products, I have a Sony HDTV, Surround system, PS3 and all of these are top quality products which never fail on me. This cannot be said for MS considering im on my 4th 360 console in the space of 3yrs.
Ever since I upgraded my PS3 HDD to 320GB HDD the PS3 has come alive for me and the 360 seems like cheap, plastic, crap. If GT5 is released in Dec I can guarantee my 360 will be traded in and my xbox live subscription cancelled.
Looking into the future and if MS don't act by releasing a new console in the next few years then they are in trouble. As im an old fogie i've been playing video games since the 1980s and I even remember the ZX81, Zx Spectrum. Since those days we have gone from cassette tapes, cartridge, CD, DVD and now Blu ray. The problem for MS is developers may need to release 360 games with multiple DVDs and because the 360 only has 120GB HDD, storage space could become an issue. However for PS3 owners this is no concern what with Blu ray and how easily and cheap it is to upgrade your HDD.
The problem for MS is they believe the future is digital downloading. Well they are right in some respects but this won't succeed for another 10yrs. The simple reason is only a minority have a fast enough connection to make full use of this. However how many people would want to download 20GB with a 3mb download connection. The average download speed in the UK is 3mb!
Sony have been really clever in developing the PS3 and its almost as though they could see into the future. The 360 was developed with short term thinking compared to the PS3. I love trying to look into the future and how video gaming might change and I have come to this conclusion. If MS don't release a new console ASAP just watch how the PS3 will become dominant in the next 1-3yrs. Im afraid Software updates and Project Natal will not stem the PS3 tidal wave!

I'm not sure why I clicked on that link but I got a real kick out of this comment: I actually find the opposite regarding Forza and "floating like on a magic carpet". I feel more attached to the road in Forza 2 compared to what Gran Tourismo Prologue feels like, especially when a car gets airborne.
Correct me if I'm wrong but a car shouldn't feel more attached to the road when it is airborne should it?

I think Ferrari Challenge also suffers from this gliding over the track feeling. GT5p feels pretty well connected to me, only game i think feels moe connected is Rfactor.
I can't believe there was that thread saying Ferrari Challenge feels better and has better physics. I certainly don't think so, yes it's harder than GT but definately not more realistic.
Just look at pretty much any FC video and you will see what i mean, like the cars is skating smoothly over the surface.
To be honest i think it could have something to do with the FOV in part, the FOV seems to make the road look like it's driving under you as oppossed to you driving down the road, this is probably what gives FC its sense of high speed and why GT feels slow.
Edit: Also notice the slack slow reacting camera, something Forza 3 also has, in GT5 the camera is pretty much fixed in the horizontal direction, i believe this could play a major part in feeling disconnected.

Part of me hopes it is in, part of me doesn't. The Veyron is a fan-boy car and while it may make 1000hp from the factory, I am not impressed. For the cost of the car I don't think it's worth it in a performance aspect. I could care less about luxury and accessories myself. I hope it's in the game though, because everyone who drives it is like they're king *** is going to be VERY upset when they lose to something else

And to be fair, I can't find any threads over there where people are taking quotes from this forum and pointing and laughing..

The SRT GT5p Vs FM2 review had a lot of odd comments from people calling of bias and unfairness etc, seems most people don't like criticism when it's aimed at their pet game.

Lets see if it all dies down after Gamescom, I really want to participate on both forums if I can, but really more about discussing the individual games, and leaving the 'vs' stuff to the teenagers..

Yeah in all honesty, if anythig it's quite apt. I mean the main starting point of this thread revolves around Forza making stupid claims and having digs at GT.
Though i must admit im not part of this whole Fanboy ordeal, the most logical position to take is a neutral one, that way you can have true unbiassed conversation. I mean if Forza 3 suddenly released a load of new footage that i felt blew GT away, i'd be over there, i'm not going to be Sony's lapdog.

That's fine. I have had 2 Sony digital camera's stop working. A tweeter in one Sony speaker and a woofer in the other Sony tower just stop working, a Sony WEGA Trintron tube go bad in less than 2 years ($450 to repair my $1500 TV at that time).
Microsoft, I went through 4 Xbox 360s, a DS 80 PC sound system where the USB port stopped working, the Microsoft MN wireless network adapter for my PC, and an original Zune that stopped working after about a year and a half.
Sony and MS make garbage for the most part in my experience.
I couldn't disagree with your comment more than you can imagine.

The reliability of electronic goods are very variable between owner to owner, no matter what brand. I've seen 360s outlast some PS3s. It's just the luck of the draw.

That's is very true but some electrical gear have inherent faults for example a Sony DVP-S725D dvd player, someone who has bought one of these knows what i'm talking about.
