I vote we just leave it as it is and just have a good time with it. I'm not saying all the other things wouldn't be fun, but I like simplicity for the sake of simplicity. The format and racing was the most fun I've had outside of a few big air rooms with our longest jump and freestyle contests at Willow Springs (co-sponsored by each drivers choice of adult beverage).

I came in with minimal practice time but it was enough to have some really good back and forth racing. HSR was the exception. I didn't get enough testing in the draft and just didn't have the car to keep up.

@Lessen I broke out a couple of laps at Laguna Seca and just kept going because the racing was that good. There were three or four of us going back and forth for 2nd through 4th or 5th place for multiple laps.

Given the prep time that is needed to figure this out, how does everyone like the idea of two tracks with times and run it two times? I'm thinking run combo 1 then combo 2 then repeat it for a total of four races but with the prep time for two combos.
Actually, not a bad idea. I'll go along with the majority on this. I just like the fact you're keeping it simple and fun.

Edit: sorry for the double post....duck, dive, dip, dodge, and dip the fish slaps as they come in!

I agree. We were testing with nitro during practice to help close the gap. a very fast car will give you an advantage on the out lap then set it on cruise and short shift your way to your target time might work too. Need to test that theory though..

After some preliminary testing, it looks as if the P4 might make an encore performance in Roma.
Belissima!

Official results with time adjustments will be finished up tomorrow night. It would have been tonight but I spent the day at the World Ag Expo for work. Biggest collection of everything you could possibly need to grow food I have ever seen and probably ever will see.

Did you prepare for the apocalypse?

Did you prepare for the apocalypse?

Didn't prepare for the apocalypse but I did come home with two giant bags of free stuff. Everything from pens, to notepads, to hats, to t-shirts. Anything a company could put their name on, they were giving it away.

And was the wife like, 'WTF did you bring all that junk home for?" That's what mine would have said :)

I left a lot of it at work. I only brought home the hats and shirts. The golf towel went right into the bag and she got most of the shirts because nobody had a 3xl.

Results are up in the 3rd post in the thread. I will be posting a link to the google doc that has all the data sometime tomorrow, right after I create the google doc.

Update: There is now a link in the third post for the results to the detailed sheet.

It's also right here.

That's really cool - thanks for putting it together.

Sorry guys. I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. Have a house semi-emergency that has to be dealt with.

Ah bummer! We've been practicing for the last few hours with a pretty good turnout. I can host tonight if need be, and I'll make sure to save the replays so we can figure out final racetimes.

INDEX Race Lobby Open: 1472-4711-0038-4895-8381

Starting at 6:30PST/9:30EST

Edit: Closed. Had a decent sized turnout. Lots of fun all the way around. I have all 3 replays @JLBowler. I'll upload them to the SNAIL drive a little later and you can decide what you want to do with them.

Replays uploaded to the "Public uploads" folder

Hope everything got taken care of JL - we missed you and many others. Thanks to all for some great racing tonight.
My 250 GTO strategy was a bit flawed, especially considering it was hard to start - even with several practices. The LSD helped but a last minute front spring adjustment actually hurt - by dropping laptime! The car barely kept me out of 'Raw's jaws' but very fun to drive.
I was pretty happy with the Dino at Trial Mountain, it fit well with no tuning.
The 330 P4 served me well in Rome and allowed me some great dicing with Bass and Sam. Bass was very strong and made for a real challenge - well done!

Your to fast for me in those Ferrari's,,,lol.
'Raw's Jaws" were muzzled well by his own lack of practice, and non existent strategy! LOL , Bass appears to be in a format to his liking

Thanks for picking up the ball and running with it.

I have downloaded the replays and will work on the results as soon as I have the chance.

Everything is fine here. It's just been a little busy. One of the neighbors trees fell over in the wind and ended up with one of my trees holding it up. There was a concern that the extra weight might cause my tree to fall as well, so I had to get started cutting the neighbors tree down so that it wouldn't knock my tree into my pool or possibly my house.

I will be attempting to get next weeks races posted. It's looking like late today or possibly tomorrow. At least I have tomorrow off as my company has decided to give us President's Day off.

Here is a recap of what everyone was running on Friday. I now realize I forgot to have the PP/HP screen up when I took these pictures (It was at this moment I realized @thorracing was on the wrong compound in R2 :D)

Official results from 2/17 are posted in the third post in this thread. The link is also there to view the spreadsheet with all the times.

A note about race #3. Justcallmefry was not scored as it was clear he was making no attempt to run the index time.

That brings me to my next note. If you're going to show up and run multiple laps that are 2 to 3 seconds under the index time, you're not taking the format seriously and you probably shouldn't be racing with us. Consider this the only warning for this type of behavior. If it continues, any driver doing this will be asked to leave.

The schedule for 2/24/17 is in the second post. I also included it below in this post.

Schedule for 2/24/17

1) Brands Hatch Indy SH tires 55.000
2) Nurburgring GP/F SS tires 1:58.000
3) Apricot Hill RM tires 1:14.000
