Fuji 2005 is the worst EVER!!!

I like Fuji 05. It just took a couple laps to get a feel for what was going on. I have a difficult time getting my rthym on opera reverse, but I dont mind it.

I can't stand autumn ring. It feels to tight and small, like I should be racing a go kart on it or something.

Grand Valley and Laguna Seca are probably my favorite tracks to drive.

It would be cool to see a track like Spa or Bathurst in a future GT game.

Korea track is the worst. Not only is it boring like New York but its ugly as hell. Looks worst then GT3. Doesnt feel like you are playing GT4 at all.
Its like they rushed the track design to satisfy korean fans.

Fuji 80's and 90's are great, but I hate the 2005 and 2005 GT Fuji circuits. Most of my beginner GT friends though like Fuji 2005 because if you leave the track you don't get stuck in gravel because of the tarmac at the sides of the track.

I just think that nostalgia is just put to death with this 2005 track rendition. The only thing that the 2005 configuration is still likely to have is the long straight. It would have been worse if there were temporary chicanes used on the front straight. But the overall feel of the track versus the 1990s configuration is completely gone. I know F1 used to race at Fuji, but this track isn't going to win back any F1 Grand Prix of Japan there. If I want a Formula One race in Japan, Suzuka is my top candidate. Why Suzuka and not this 2005 Fuji? Suzuka is highly technical and really challenges you from the first turn to the section I have the most trouble with, the Casio Triangle. Plus, it's more fun. What the 2005 Fuji configuration is there for is to basically welcome back F1 one day. It's redesigned so that a half-wit in a 1,000 horsepower race car (exaggeration, of course) knows perfectly well that they are racing on a race track and not a drag strip. There was still strategy with Fuji. There were kinks that required light to moderate braking in the high-speed sections. This course, however, completely changed up the 1990s configuration to one that better suits Formula One. Japan already has an F1 home, no need for another unless Suzuka isn't bringing in dollars and filling seats.

What do you think the 2005 configuration of Fuji has done to the 1990s course?

Heh, my least favorite/most dreaded tracks are La Sarthe and especially El Capitan. Both are full of blind corners and parts that need to be memorized rather than followed; in El Cap, the first section beats the heck out of me because I'm too afraid to cut in sharply on those two left turns, and the uphill/downhill part after the tunnel is a *****. La Sarthe has a few turns that don't make sense, especially after the last straight; I ran into the wall at least 5 times before I got it, and it still feel weird.

I hate fuji 05 for many of these same reasons. The track's geometry is such that you have to memorize the turns, rather than reacting to them seat-of-the-pants wise, and there are a number of turns that just don't feel right -- the first turn after the straight, the sharp one midway through, and especially the one before turning onto the straight. It's like they intentionally try to prevent you from getting a nice rhythm going. The last one is just horrible. It's impossible to swing into, since the car's weight is off balance; you have to slow down and hope you hit the right apex, since the inside isn't even visible. Personally, I like to be accelerating out of a turn (As in special stage 5 and 11 in GT3), rather than feeling like I'm pulling onto on a drag strip.

I know they could be better as I practice, but it's not really... fun or exciting for me.

Hong Kong I love though, as well as New York, mainly for the graphics but also out of preference for street tracks(like seattle); it seems easier to jump around 90 degree turns, rather than watching the car gradually fall off of a long turn and sludging through the sand in the circuits.

Seoul sucks though, for asthetic reasons (urban hell).

How can you hate Le Mans? Le Mans is full of magic, prestige, history, and tradition. Play "Le Mans 24 Hours" on PS2 or Dreamcast. The track is bliss for sportscar racing fans. Where else can you race at 5th or 6th Gear down a super-long straight before having to brake hard to take the two chicanes? Forshame.

El Capitan is a tricky place, but I love it because it just feels right. The combination of lefts and rights is all put together nicely. It will really test how you're able to steer the car, accelerate out of tough sections... I actually think this is more of a pure test track than Apricot Hill. Plus, El Capitan's layout kind of reminds me of Formula One's Hungaroring (did I spell it right? Don't get mad at a brother, Hungarians!). The only difference is the placement of the Start/Finish line.

New York isn't one of my most hated tracks and here's why. This may have some people be like "what the hell," but think of street courses as road courses. If you can race around them if the course was a pure road course rather than a road course all lined up with barriers, you'll be able to race them effectively. New York has twists and turns, but you still get a kick of high speed through them. After the high-speed areas, the 90-degree turns and the roundabout aren't too challenging. Overtaking isn't too challenging, either. Overtaking can be VERY tough at Hong Kong. Only track worse at overtaking would have to be Monte Carlo (Cote d'Azur).

I still don't like Fuji 2005. Since it's mostly conceptual, it's tough to try to find the right racing line, especially if you are used to watching for dark lines on the road. As there is no racing line (or barely one), you're on your own to find out how to race the track effectively.

While I do agree that Fuji 2005 looks odd with all the excess pavement, I do not agree that the track sucks. It probally looks just like that in real life.

Actually, I don't think any of the tracks suck. All of them look great (specially in replays) and I appreciate the work that went into each of the tracks.

I agree. Fuji '05 is my least favorite track in the game. But what do I know, I am one of the few who actually really likes Paris Opera.

Fuji Speedway '05 GT is Really bad!

First of all, all of the turns are sharper and shorter.
Second, I can't see, from a distance, which turn I should take since I can't see which road is "the right one". There is a small thin strip of grass but you can't see it from far away.

Long story short, Fuji GT sucks.

EDIT: All tracks are absolutely GREAT 👍
except Fuji GT '05. :yuck:

opera paris is a great track to go on with touring cars, the only thing is that you need to really take a good line some of the turns look as if you need to brake then turn but its not like that you have to break straight into the turn its really challenging with good competition. I didn't like it at first but now i'm loving it. As for fuji I really think it sucks, I'm a pretty well rounded guy on my picks for cars except i don't like:
Muscle cars
American cars, (Only produce few that succed)
Show cars
Stupid drifting cars(Vipers, Gto's and crap like that I dont even consider them really drifting more like doing a big burnout in a wide open road.)

So did i miss something i didnt know that fuji was for f1 or at least used it. The only thing that i've seen it in is in Best of Motoring and JGTC.
It just doesnt feel good enough as the 90s the 80s i think is too fast of a lap i like tracks to be a little tricky.
El Capitan i really like but i cant put it on b-spec because the stupid computer drives so slow i drive it myself and i improve by like five seconds. its a really fun track.
Ny not my favorite track but i could see myself drifting in does small turns its ok for me
Hong kong. really fun with a moderate fast car not too fast the turns appear too quickly.

La sarthe its great if you know how to handle it right and learn the braking points.

Suzuka, i hated it at first i just couldnt get the turns to match up, after a few races in it i started getting better and found it enjoyable.

Motegi, The Road coarse(long one)- that track is so far my favorite Just taking the Audi R8 and going on that is fun that track i could just stay there for hours.

I think that if you dont like a track its just cause your not as good as you think you can be and thats why that track falls under the chategory of bad.
Well this is my opinion

To me, the driving experience at Fuji '05 isn't that bad, but the scenery just seems too bland. Because of all the pavement at the side of the track, it seems that all the scenery was taken out.

The worst track in the game has got to be Seoul, too short, too boring. However, I disagree with people saying that the Paris tracks, New York, and Hong Kong are bad. Those are some of my favorite tracks in the game, aside from La Sarthe, but that's just my opinion and they have theirs.

I like this track, i sat down and just did about 20 laps in a standard Impreza, i got used to it and not i like it. My least favourite course is the Infineon Sports car course, its the blind bends. I can't drive it and neither can my B-spec man. Maybe i need to practice.

Seoul Circuit isn't really a disappointment to me, and here's why. Circuits don't always have to be long and challenging like Spa-Francorchamps, Nuirburgring or Nurburgring Nordschleife, or Monza. While short, Seoul Circuit isn't the worst street course ever conceptualized. No... that honor goes to the former Australian V8 Supercar circuit, Canberra. Play "Pro Race Driver," enter the Power Racing Tour, and you'll see what I mean.

Some of the buildings and scenery kind of remind me of my home town of Houston, TX, USA (except for the mountainous background. Besides, Houston is a flat city unlike San Antonio or San Francisco). The track is actually a nice high-speed track. It isn't like a track with corners that don't flow well or have no rhythm (for example, a 200 mph straight with a very sharp hairpin turn followed by a sweeping turn with another sharp hairpin). The rhythm for a street course is usually tough to follow, but when you get it, it's a piece of cake. As far as Seoul goes, the configuration is reminiscent of the Big Dipper, for you astronomy fans. It isn't seriously tough. All you need is good speed for the straights and smooth handling for the turns. You'll have to have a mix of both for the quick left-right section. Also, this track is flat, so I don't think you'll need hard suspension settings to keep the car planted.

Exactly, in the section after what was the big second gear hairpin in the 90s course I have no idea where Im going, Theres tarmac everywhere and no clear route, and what the hell happened to the back section? Its rediculous.

I love all the tracks in GT4, especially Opera Paris, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Circuit de la Sarthe (both versions) etcetera.

Would you rather have a couple of tracks which you like, or like craploads of tracks like with a couple you like, like? With less tracks it like means there is a like lesser chance of like getting to like a track that you like don't like.

Like?

Both versions of Circuit de la Sarthe, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Seattle Circuit, Fuji Speedway 80's and 90's, Cote D' Azur (Monaco), High Speed Ring, and Opera Paris are the tracks that I really love to race in.

The new Fuji tracks (with and without the chicane section) aren't that bad. I tried racing in them and there wasn't that much of problems I encountered.

In the Nurburgring, when it comes to me driving racing supercars (e.g. Minolta car, R92CP, and R8), it presents an extremely difficult challenge. The track is extremely long and the turns are quite unpredictable and unforgiving of driver error. However, I'm slowly getting used to this track.

I am reallly really reallly really annoyed that they put in 4 different versions of Fuji speedway..... that way the track count really does get to 50+ tracks they brag and boast with on the cover of the game. At first I didn't even notice there were 2 different versions of Fuji 2005... and then you have the 80s and 90s versions as well. Then you have 4 almost identical (with some minor changes) tracks... not to mention Motegi speedway oval which is also boring as hell, test course, which is a stretched out Motegi oval and a Motegi oval with a kink in it.... great.... that's 7 tracks... multiplied by 2 (reversed tracks) = 14 tracks.... yeah, that way I can make 50 tracks as well.

I just thought about it. Citta di Aria, while beautiful, is perhaps one of the worst tracks. Why so? So little overtaking and almost too easy to make a mistake down these two-lane and even one-lane roads. Since the course is a tarmac rally, you don't need a rally car to win. Anything from a Mini Cooper S all the way up to the Jaguar XJR8 is perfectly fine. When you use a rally car with approximately 300hp, it can be almost too easy to smack a wall or the leading car. So far, I've won all of the Special Condition races except Citta di Aria Reverse (Hard). When running in reverse, usually against a rally car, it can be very tricky to overtake the leading car and not end up smacking a wall if you aren't careful. So you'll have to take it easy if you can, and look for the best spots to overtake. But for the casual gamer, this track will p*ss you off pretty damn badly.

If the only version of Fuji you know is the 2005, I wouldn’t say that it is bad, annoying yes. The problem is that the original version is such a beautiful combination of mostly fast curves with the only straight being the main one. They completely destroyed the flow in this track.

Fuji 2005 is the WORST! I hate to see it appear on my TV screen. There is NOTHING to use for a braking point, and there is no racing line on the asphalt. It's slippery and boring. I hate it! My feelings about Fuji 80s, etc. are not near as strong, but Fuji 2005... 👎 🤬

I don't like Fuji 2005 because it is difficult to judge when I should start braking for a turn. I either go off the track after misjudging a turn or I brake way too early, and lose a couple of positions in the process. :ouch:
