Fully Automatic A-Spec Grinding - *Video and picture*

Can somebody confirm if this is still possible with the most recent (today's) patch?

I just got home, read about the update. I haven't done the update and would also like to know from anyone if this new "Restart race confirmation" option gets in the way of what we all have been doing.

It's still just a couple of presses of X to "re-race" so the keyboard should still be fine.

"Restart race confirmation" would be so you don't accidently restart BEFORE the race is completed. It doesn't come up for the purposes of rubber-band grinding.

I just did a DCC rubber-band race. Still works. I don't have the keyboard plugged in so I can't confirm that.

The payout is now 86,600cr. and 32,223xp.

So significant lower cr payout, but also it seems xp is much higher?

Yep. I used to get 108,000cr. and 8919 (I think) xp.

Unfortunately, I will soon. I need 5,275,284xp. to get to 40, so another 164 DCC Indy grinds (old xp. it would've been 592 ).

Once I get to 40 and do the final enduro, I'll only be worried about picking up the last 200 cars i need and modding, so I'll need heaps of cash for that.

The new update fixes a lot of stuff. It's a shame it didn't come sooner. I could've grinded less. Also buying cars I don't have would've been a lot easier than always referring to my cars spreadsheet.

I've stopped caring about the level system after I got to lvl 24. It's all about money for me now.

What's the payout for Indy in Like the wind now? It used to be 84000 I think.

I confirm this auto-grind method still works after update 1.06. I just did a couple of races and it worked as before.

When i finish the race the screen goes to the credit and xp scren and the cursor goes onto the replay icon i then get caught in a 'continuos loop' ala groundhog day!! It goes from replay screen to the replay icon and back to the replay screen.

Could it be that your tilted DS3 stick is moving the cursor?

XP boost!!!! Over 32k XP per race and 86.000 cr.!!!!

It's OK! RBGing still works post patch!

No changes to the way it's done, but there are a couple of other changes:

Credit payout has been reduced, I use the Like the Wind Races (Quicker credits!) and used to get 86,000cr a race now I get 70,000cr a race.

XP has been increased, I used to get about 7000XP, I now get over 14,000XP so progression up the levels will be a lot quicker while winnings will be reduced only a little bit!!!

My USB keyboard doesn't work after 1.06.

Anyone else experience this? It works OK in the XMB but not in GT5.

EDIT: It even works when typing messages for your friends' profile, but neither the arrows nor enter key will work on any other place but Community text input.

Are you making sure to plug your keyboard in after everything else is setup? Sometimes if you plug it in earlier it doesn't register the input.

I was tempted to use this trick after the update because of boost in XP, unlike the one stated here that you tilt a bit the left stick towrds the right, I never done that, I only taped the right stick max up and the X2010 all at default setting never had a problem so far.
But with XP boost on the INDY-500 of about 750000 XP, in just 2 hour 5 minutes, I think level 40 is not dificult to reach.

I'm only getting like 5-6th place. Its still earning me about 540K an hour. You get a new car ticket every 100 races too

The Minolta Toyota 88C-V race car will win.

Use your FGT to gold the "Like The Wind" A-spec event - you'll be given
the Minolta. Max out what little tuning you can do - it should have 1040hp.
Minimize it's downforce.

It will get 1st place grinding Indy. After about 6 hours I've noticed it's down to 3rd or 4th place, so I change the oil, and it's back up to 1st.

I'm surprised how complicated some people have been taping/rubber-banding their sticks/buttons. I set up my controller like this (vibration off of course):

It takes, literally, five seconds to set up. The left stick is pulled forward, but you can easily nudge it slightly to the right (as pictured) and it gives just the right amount of wall rub. Hours of trouble free grinding unless there's a freak accident.

Yessir! This IS the ultimate setup. I'm hitting 7th gear (for a second or so) and with an oil change, can run in the low 41's.

Yeah, for some reason I needed to unplug it and plug it back in and after that it started working again.

Finally got my X2010 from the Vettel Challenge. Currently grinding Like the Wind Indy at 42-43sec laps with 1st place. Should be earning over 1,050,000cr per hour.

Btw what is new exp for the Indy on Like the Wind?

I decided to set this up and finally I'm enjoying the benefits of B-spec A-spec'ing.
If only we could devise a system to do the 24 hours of Lemans/Nurburgring via B-spec that would be awesome.
Really I just plan on reaching 100% and be done with this piece of crap game.
Shame I was dazzled of GT5 false awesomeness as a GT long fan.

I autogrind with my vettel x2010. i usually get high 44's-low 46's. It never reaches 6th gear at all even with engine rebuilds and chassis rebuild. could it be that it has 29k miles? when i race it normally it can go up through 7th. I tried auto grind with my copper x1. it couldnt even get into first place when the vettel sweeps the field. I tried fiddling with the gears on copper for acceleration but it wouldnt work at all. back to the vettel it won right away.

I'm grinding again. I didn't know you get a x2010 when you level to 35? I did in B Spec. Cool!

I see that since the upgrade we're not making the cash we used to. I found that like the wind is now BETTER than doing the indy in Dream Car. I figure I'm making 1.012 million an hour now. And only 5 laps a race you earn the 100 races ticket faster than Dream car too.

By the way, it possible to rig your DS3 using only gravity.

Put it upside down in a way that the sticks are upward. Push the controller slightly to the right and it should work.

It works for me although I am using a Sixaxis (non-DS3), due to the motors I am not sure if the controller would stay like that or if it would tip over.

I use my headphones to set up the steering, but you probably can simply turn up your TV's or Stereo's sound. I base myself on the frequency of the "knock-knock-knock''. The more time there is between them the faster you will go and if you dont ear them at all, it means you arent steerin into the wall at all, and will come of the wall after the next turn.

Ok guys I've searched and I can't find a straight answer on this. I get the a spec auto grinding by using a usb keyboard and rubber bands, but how to auto b spec grind? Can you just tape down the enter button on the key board as you would with the a spec grinding and let it keep restarting the race the same way? Reason I'm asking is I'm gonna pick up a keyboard tomorrow for the auto a spec grinding and now with the update the nurburgring 4 hr b spec pays out little more than 600k exp so instead of doing the 9hr for 900k exp when I go to sleep at night I want it to repeat the 4 hr two times while I'm asleep. That way I can get 1.2 mil exp instead of 900k for an hour less time.

Not really, because at the point where your drivers screen comes up, you have to push the "O" or back button.

This bloke has worked out a way around it, but I haven't looked into it because I'm not worried about auto-grinding B-Spec.

Made a B-Spec USB-device to auto grind for me.
