I haven't tested all cars but the Veyron goes from 51 second laps at 0 hours to 53 second laps after 60 hours. Good for 6-7-8th place finishes, which is good enough for me :)

More importantly though is that the Veyron seems to be more stable than the FGT. Did the same test (3+days) with an FGT and came back to it head-first into the infield wall. The Veyron was still going strong and would've kept grinding for days if I didn't have to stop so I could watch a DVD on my PS3

I've had a couple cases of the FGT pushing a wall for 5-8 hours at a time. I'll have to try it with the Veyron. 👍

As for Enter key problem, there are differences in keyboards. Not all make the Enter to be pressed constantly.

I have trouble to set the car to drive fast enough. I still have FGT, but when i can get X2010, I'll change. Problem is that the car slows down too much, when in contact with wall. Only 270 kmh or 168 mph top speed. I have the settings right, and left stick pointed. I tried adjusting it, but no luck. Every time the car hits wall, it slows down.

Is your steering set so it just drifts slowly to the wall? I set mine that way and it works well. The FGT gets like 6-7th place and wins about 63K per race. I just added about 14 million doing that. You also get a 1000 car ticket for doing over 100 races.

Yes. I had the car drifting towards the wall, but it slows too much down. After a lap, im in last place. What kind of settings you use in FGT?

I just use the default setting (except for the transmission which is set to 390 or 400 I think) for the FGT and get it to max out at 360 kmh at the end of the straights, hitting the rev limiter for a second before the turn.

It should only be a tiny bit of turning to the right.

I can't get it to drive at that speed for 24 hours though, only 1-2 hours and it goes a second a lap slower. I thought it was because it needed an oil change, but maybe its the rubberband setup that makes it turn more to the right after a while... I'll check it,

Yer, I really can't be bothered with grinding A-Spec anymore, not bothered about B-Spec but A-Spec is much harder.

My Setup:

Left Stick pointing very slightly to the left as suggested:

For this I stuck some coins in a plastic box with the weight centered on a zippo over the enter button:

Works great, get lap times in the 44 second range. :D I'll leave it going while tomorrow and see what's what. :D

How do you set that thing on the left stick????!!!! :embarrassed:

The position of the left stick is important.

Too far to the right would mean the car wouldn't go fast enough to secure a win. Not enough to the right would mean that there would be a danger that the car can either bash into other cars or the walls too hard and this would result in the car spinning out and facing the wrong way.

If you have an X2010 it's better to have it a bit further to the right than not enough to the right, you'll still win anyway.

If you have it set up perfectly then you'd lap 41 to 43 seconds.

I'm surprised how complicated some people have been taping/rubber-banding their sticks/buttons. I set up my controller like this (vibration off of course):

It takes, literally, five seconds to set up. The left stick is pulled forward, but you can easily nudge it slightly to the right (as pictured) and it gives just the right amount of wall rub. Hours of trouble free grinding unless there's a freak accident.

THIS WORKS FOR ME!!👍 Tape dont work for me 👎

Nice. I didn't think it would be worth the trouble at first, but I found two rubber bands lying around and decided to do the same setup Watto posted. I'll try it tonight while I sleep and see how it goes. :)

Hit level 35 in B-Spec yesterday, did some races myself in my Shiny new Jet (Thank you Vettel). Then I thought I'd give the rubber band setup a test, ultra easy to set up, got the X1 doing 41-43second laps, and set and forget. Woke up this morning 10M cr richer and up a level. Spent some cash and set it again - thanks for all the pics and suggestions or setting this up. Now I'll finally be able to buy some of the cars I've been after :dopey:

Well, I've now bought all the expensive cars I can find and I'm looking for ways to spend the cash coming in...so I bought me a spankin' new X2010 (why not!) Was just wondering if anyone has some good settings for the purchased X2010 (the non S. Vettel one) that might yield slightly better lap times???

Lower the downforce to the minimum.

I've tried tuning the suspension and the LSD too but they don't seem to have a noticeable effect on the lap times.

OK, I think I've figured out how to win reliably with the FGT.

1) Setup is important. Do/set the following.
a) Rebuild engine (500Kcr). Chassis rebuild is completely unnecessary.
b) Auto transmission
c) Racing Hard tires (looking for hardest possible -- I tried the rain tires too but Racing Hard is best)
d) Downforce minimum front and rear
e) Ride height MAXIMUM front and rear (+10mm)
f) Transmission set to 242mph max
Optional:
g) Springs/swaybars full stiff
h) Whatever driving aids you want (I leave them all off)

2) Get the right field of competitors. As mentioned, the Jag XJR-9 is unbeatable; even the Ford GT LM Test Car and the Zonda can be pretty dicey (esp. when they both appear together -- they'll draft each other). Exit and re-enter till you get a field you can live with.

3) Use the minimum amount of steering to keep the car in the wall. I've gotten it so that it actually comes slightly off the wall in the "short chutes" btw T1-T2 and T3-T4.

This procedure gets me consistent laps in the low 49s without any drafting (even saw a 48.9 once). After the engine's worn out it goes up to mid/high 49s but depending on the competition it's still enough to win or at least podium.

Hope this helps! For those about to grind...we salute you! ;)

I just did a DCC rubber-band race. Still works. I don't have the keyboard plugged in so I can't confirm that.

The payout is now 86,600cr. and 32,223xp.
