I did this for a bit seeing as I don't have access to Online gameplay at the moment, soon though. I need some extra cash for some A spec cars!

Wedge the left stick so that when your car is going down the straight and riding the wall your G meter is registering about a quarter G's to the left. My car's now been running on this setup non stop for 10 hours with no issues.

I did this trick for about 40 minutes and it seemed to work well. I'm gonna leave for a few hours tomorrow but I'm worried that the vibration on the controller may knock the piece of paper that I use to hold the left stick out of place.

What did you use to hold the left stick?

I've used a saftey pin but I've also made sure I'm using my standard Controller that is not Dual Shock to avoid the chance of vibrations knocking my wedge out. Dunno what to suggest if you've only got DS

Go to the settings and turn off vibration. I use a rubber band, myself. Its holding the stick up and a little to the right.

I only have a FGT and am using it in Dream Car Indy. It seems to get from 4th to 7th place every time. I tried like the wind and its useless there. I need to get the X1 or X2010 for that.

A slight steer to the right in Indy is what works best. Only enough to just glide over and brush the straight wall lightly.

sweanders2, you are amasing! :)

Ok, thanks. Have not found that one yet.

I don't have a USB keyboard, but I did find that THIS works:

El oh el. I tried all methods(except clamp) of jamming my logitec wireless key board's enter key but to no avail. I would need to press the key manually after every race. The first thing in the morning I was gonna do was go to radio shack and buy a cheap actual usb wired key board . Not gonna do that thanks to this post lol.

I have a ps3 keyboard like yours and would've never thought of using this method. Glad I read all 12 pages on this thread haha. Now I can enjoy extra xp/credits while I'm sleeping and at work :D. I'm level 31/25 so only 9 more levels by using this method.

Thanks Op and jack.

Thanks for the tip, I turned the vibration function off and now I don't have to worry about my left stick going out of place.

If you get an X2010 then it's a garunteed win because you can reach about 270mph on the straights.

Just to make a point for any who are having trouble with a USB keyboard:-

Someone earlier in the thread said you have to set the enter key on the keyboard LAST in the steps you do .ie. begin the race, have your DS3's stick rubber-banded to your liking THEN have the ENTER key pressed down with whatever method you use. Another other input will muck up the ENTER keys repeating function.

You can also grind 1st places in the dream car championship with an FGT as long at the misplaced Jaguar (not the XJ220) is not on the grid. You'd think you'd manage second even with that Jag there, but it seems to drag the other AI cars along with it so you end up 4th or 5th mostly, so make sure it's not on the grid, if it is you have to exit the race completely (back to event menu) and start again for a different opposition setup.

The FGT gives you grinding lap times of about 49 seconds (rising to 50 seconds when your FGT's engine loses power), which is good enough to win it most of the time.

Did a 60-hour straight rubberband grind with a Veyron last week going from mid-31 to mid-33. Awesome trick.

Don't all cars except the X2010 lose too much HP over time for longtime grinding to be efficient?
I haven't tested all cars but the Veyron goes from 51 second laps at 0 hours to 53 second laps after 60 hours. Good for 6-7-8th place finishes, which is good enough for me :)

More importantly though is that the Veyron seems to be more stable than the FGT. Did the same test (3+days) with an FGT and came back to it head-first into the infield wall. The Veyron was still going strong and would've kept grinding for days if I didn't have to stop so I could watch a DVD on my PS3

I've seen the FGT trying to dig through a wall a couple of times, yeah :ill:
So I've been checking every hour or so just to see how it's going.

For me the FGT does 49 second rounds (always winning), and drifts out to 50 after an hour or two (which generally makes it end up anywhere between 2nd and 4th)

As for the veyron, I guess I just can't live with grinding 6th places :sly:

I'm going to try again the the FGT. I read here that you can secure wins with it if you ensure the SilkCut Jag isn't in the race. If that's the case AND I can ensure a no-wreck setup, I'm back to FGT.

However, what I didn't mention in my last post is that I'm usually away from my house for 3-4 days each week. I need a crash-free reliable setup more than I need to come in 1st place every race.

Yeah, that's right, you just have to keep that pesky Jag that shouldnt be there away, and you have a win.

I guess the tank-like Veyron is a better choice for longterm grinding, but if you're just setting it up for an hour or two, the FGT will win you lots of cash.

How could you not have thought of using a peg, or at least well sctreched sticky tape?. You can also probably put something heavy on it?

Anyway I've got a feeling, with all this attention, come the next update, they might disable the enter repeat key thing.

Great for the Car collector trophy too... Use above method to win 20 millions, move cursor to "dealership" and stuff something heavy on the "enter" key... 250 Acura NSX '91 bought without me doing anything :-)

Yes, I took that into account and made sure the enter key was the last key to be pressed. My controls were set up etc but It was still not working for me. Maybe I did something wrong? Or maybe it doesn't work with wireless keyboards? Who knows.

Anyway, I'm using the PS3 keyboard with no problems now but thanks for pointing that out to the other people who might have missed that.

You misunderstood me. I tried all methods from the people that posted here. Using rubber bands to hold a small object on top of the enter key, something heavy, tape, etc but like I said, it wouldn't work and I would need to manually press the enter key after every race. But like I mentioned in my original post and above, PS3 keyboard works perfect for those with no wireless or wired usb keyboard.

I think I'll pick up one of those mini DS3 keyboards. It would make messaging a lot easier and unclutter my GTcockpit a bit.

As for Enter key problem, there are differences in keyboards. Not all make the Enter to be pressed constantly.

I have trouble to set the car to drive fast enough. I still have FGT, but when i can get X2010, I'll change. Problem is that the car slows down too much, when in contact with wall. Only 270 kmh or 168 mph top speed. I have the settings right, and left stick pointed. I tried adjusting it, but no luck. Every time the car hits wall, it slows down.
