You fellas are amazing with your Rube Goldberg contraptions and your fancy computer wiga-ma-gadgets. In my day we had to play Pong against a friend or learn to play with one paddle in each hand... in the snow.
Jealous that I don't have all the expert races open yet, and my grinding consists of actually driving for dollars. Err... CR.
Kaffeine
That post made my day man!

Do you need to fiddle with the setup of the car when using the FGT?

No, its the same setup I use to race it normally. I've been "rubber banding" all last night and plan to all day today. :)👍:dopey:
By the way, he comes in 6th place every time. The wall grinding slows him down more. About 6,000 cr a race.

Works perfectly, thanks for the thread! I actually used 2 rubber bands, one on the right analog stick so the car goes forward, and one between the 2 analog sticks (which seems to pull the left one slightly on the right but the right stick stays straight thanks to the other rubber bands). 6 Millions credit per 8 hours, Exp doesn't go as fast but it's better than nothing.
Like others, I'm stuck at level 35 in A-spec, I golded everything and the only races left I have to do are the 9h tsukuba and 24th Le Mans. Even if I do these 2 events I will be noway near 40.

Thanks again for posting this great idea! Shame that we have to do that but I'm glad some people find workarounds :)

Cool, KIAEddZ. The last rubberbanded grind fest I went from 10pm to 4pm the next day. I got about 4million cr and leveled up from 30 to 31 :)

Works perfectly, thanks for the thread! I actually used 2 rubber bands,
I did that too. It works. I didn't want to gum up the controller with tape or come back in 10 hrs to find it didn't hold. I used one to hold the right one forward and the left one is also held forward. For the steering I moved them some to the right to keep a light rub on the wall when going straight. In 16 hrs it never once failed.

Failed twice on me yesterday but its OK. Spent 10 Hours the first time and 7 hours last night driving into the wall. This is the fist bad grind day that I had. Running it again today. It ran for 2 hours before I left the house so we'll see how it went when I get home.

I am about 45% to lvl 40. 👍

If the current seasonal event had paid out like the previous ones, I could of saved about 8 hours. :grumpy:

Been a 36 for about 3 weeks now and that was with friends helping me out doing races for me. It feels as though it gets really tough and rightfully so but, I started using this method today. F2007 here I come.
Thx for posting this.

Can't wait to try this, it looks epic :D

Is there a fully automatic B-Spec grind? cause I keep getting stuck on that points tally per driver screen which A-Spec doesn't have

I am about 45% to lvl 40. 👍

Now about 64% to lvl 40.

Having a 2nd controller is awesome cause I reassigned controller 2 to controller 1 (and back) so that I can spend the 20 million credits (some UCD items a McLaren F1 and a Miura) quickly without having to remove and reset the rubber bands.

When i use the fgt for autogrind i set the downforce to minimum and drop the ride hight right down. With the tranny set 370km i can get first to third consistently depending on the AI cars in the race. Works pretty good but no x1 I'm sure. Thought I'd add that in for those (such as myself) that don't have an x1

I set my grinding this afternoon and noticed that I was actually placing 1st with the FGT. I leave the house for 6 hours, come home to find my PS3 shut off. Turns out, had a power outage.

I'm now grinding the same track with the FGT but this time placing 3rd. *sigh*

Needless to say I am pissed.

I've never rubberbanded a B Spec race or heard of it here. Yeah, that screen with the Bobs on it would be a problem.

I made my Bob a fully automatic babysitter in the form of a USB-device:

Now I just start a race and plug my device in and Bob will keep running the races over and over again.

This is awesome!

I've changed the plan slightly and have gone for the 'Like The Wind' Series Indy race.

I'm bagging 84,000cr every race but the races are 5 laps long so I win a race every 4 mins (Including next race load time) which means I'm now getting 1,260,000cr every hour.

Thanks OP!

Yer, I really can't be bothered with grinding A-Spec anymore, not bothered about B-Spec but A-Spec is much harder.

My Setup:

Left Stick pointing very slightly to the left as suggested:

For this I stuck some coins in a plastic box with the weight centered on a zippo over the enter button:

Works great, get lap times in the 44 second range. :D I'll leave it going while tomorrow and see what's what. :D

I used a rubber band for the throttle stick and some tissue for the steering stick to hold it in place. I used some tissue too for the keyboard to jam the enter button.

The result was 41 to 43 second laps.

I want to thank you for the great piece of thinking. Really helps. The only problem i got is when it hits too hard and starts going the wrong way round the track.

Just a few things to say on this...
Well done whoever. It's a great example of problem solving using innovation and ingenuity!
The problem being "not enough cash and xp available to enjoy the game."
I think nearly everyone will agree on this.

Next thing I'm at level 27. Haven't touched b spec.
I'm only interested in buying the cars I want and driving/tuning them. No grinding. No b spec. No boredom.

Now how can I get an x2010.
What are the best available ways guys cheers.

I was planning on completeing the Seb Vettel Challenge to get mine but after an hour or so I just found driving that car a silly waste of time. If I wanted to play a game that handled like that I'd have bought Wipeout!

So I popped into the Marketplace on the forums here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=239 and immediately found two threads asking for Ferrari F1 cars. Turns out I'd spent the day before furiously B-Speccing to get the 10Mill to buy one for the Seasonal Events.

Soooooo, I offered up my Fezza in exchange for any X1....bingo! One of the posters looking for an exchange had gone out so missed out, but the other one was watching his thread so we completed the exchange within 15 minutes.

Fro what I hear exchanging a 10,000,000Cr Car for an X1 was a bit of an overkill and the guy swapping with me must've got a real bargain but hey, it's only pretend money, B-Spec Bob earned it for me anyway and now I have an X1 and rubberband grining there's alwys more money whenever I want it LOL.

Guys i have been doing this since day one and it has been the best. When you want a car you buy it. When you want to do something you do it. No saving No waiting. Perfect for me ( Gen Y ). I am at level 39 guys and have about 3/4 to 40! i realy did not think that day would ever come.
