whats the point in all this? after this autogrind machine reaches lv40 what will your do? quit game?
I have around 2-3 hours a week to play this game, and am A-Spec LVL 29. This summer I have vacation time available that will allow me to do a couple of the 24hr endurance races. There's no way I have the time to grind to LVL 35 by June just so I can play the endurance races. Even if I had the time I don't want to grind the same events ad nauseum and further ruin the game. The XP leveling system is an arbitrary restriction placed on a game that takes so much away from people who want to do endurance races.

I don't dupe, but I'm getting my rubber bands out tonight so I can finally negate the leveling system once and for all.

Epic. Genius. Epic genius. Hats off to you Sincx and poyol.

I wonder what PD will do about this. Hopefully there won't be any "fix" that makes this impossible -- frankly it should be a wake-up call that the exponentially increasing experience is just absurd for the last 5-10 levels. (You need 9 times as much experience to go from 30 to 40 as you did from 0 to 30! Did Kaz just want to keep us busy for the 6-10 years until GT6?!) If they "fix" anything it should be the experience -- maybe cap it at 1.000.000 or so for the last 9 levels. Or else start offering some 1.000.000 point seasonal events...

They should just get rid of it altogether. I passed my S License within a couple of days of game release; that means I should be able to do the most demanding races. But I can't, because PD decided to be idiots.

FWIW you can rubberband grind with the Formula Gran Turismo, and it's even possible to win although not reliably. I've been averaging 6th place finishes in the Dream Car Championship / Indy race which works out to something around 1,000 xp per minute. Not as good as X1 grinding but still effective.

You fellas are amazing with your Rube Goldberg contraptions and your fancy computer wiga-ma-gadgets. In my day we had to play Pong against a friend or learn to play with one paddle in each hand... in the snow.
Jealous that I don't have all the expert races open yet, and my grinding consists of actually driving for dollars. Err... CR.

OK GUYS, look, either I'm stupid or missed it or somehow everyone else missed it, BUT, everybody talks about grinding Indy-10 laps for 108k cr. I was gonna start that race for the 1000th time over as I saw the logo for the like the wind races and I was like: "Hey, there must be a track too, where you can make lots of money." And guess what, there is! It is Indy again, perfect, 5 laps, so only half of them, perfect, let's find out how much cr. it gives: 84k, 84k!? That is awesome, 10 laps here result in 170k, as opposed to the 108k in the dream car championship, that is a HUGE difference, so, IF there is someone like me, who never noticed that, well, you better change the race and make money 60% faster.

Edit: Ok, I just saw the exp. points you get, a mere 3.5k, that's some 7k per 10 laps, 2k less than in the other race, which, I find is not too much of a difference, the difference in money reward is much bigger, so, I for one, will stick to the like the wind race.

I want to get rid of the exp level so i prefer the 10 lap indy race.

Yeah I see. It's just that I want to buy all cars as fast as possible and change the UCD display as fast as possible, so the like the wind race is perfect for me.

Guess not many here really want to buy every car in the game, so makes sence for them and you to rather prefer the Indy race.

Are there any cars that only come up once in the UCD? I would do this if I knew for sure I would be able to get every car and not miss something. Take for instance the C5 Vette im told only comes up on day 82. (I hope that not true).

Let me know

I need 7,561,442 xp needed for lvl 40.
I get 9,819 xp earned ~per race.
It'll take about 770.08 races.
Each race is about 8 minuets.
So thats about 6,160.6 minutes / 102.67 hours / 4.27 days to lvl 40.

I tried rubber band grinding on "like the wind" but it doesn't work the other opponents drive the outside and bump you to the middle then you slam on the wall hard and slow down you end up in 6th place at the end. So it would be nice more money less time , but it doesn't work well at least for mr it doesn't.

It does work, just navigate him through the first 2-3 corners, than he will do it.

EDIT-IMPORTANT: Another HUGE advantage (IMO) is, that you get a "2000? ticket" for every 100 races you do and/or for every 2000 kilometers you drive. The cars you get are MOSTLY really good, the good ones I had so far are: Skyline Nürb Edition (premium), Focus Rally Car (premium) and a Lancia Delta S2 Rally Car (standard). I guess all the cars I got through these tickets are worth several millions, so that again saved me some serios time of grinding, win-win situation.

Guess it didn't hurt I mentioned it one more time, considering I was talking of a race, which you would do 100 times two times faster (5 laps), and therefore get the ticket almost two times faster.

Of course that's going to work. The point is to walk away for a while.

Money and car tickets is a non issue once you use this setup. I think I have over 40 gift tickets in my car deilvery, I'm just too lazy to open them all up.

My friends and I have called this the HOF controller because you make CR and XP "Hand Over Fist"!!!!!!

i personally don't have problems (or at least not more than with dream car championship) when running like the wind. maybe you should restart the race and hope to get slower adversaries, because obviously the faster their cars are, the riskier it is for "a-spec bob" at the beginning of the race. i just ran it for 3 hours straight with no problems, and won by 1.5-2 seconds margins every time.

kuya glen ty for the info. now i know when to expect lvl 40. doing the grind as I type lol.

What car are you using to do this? I only have the Formula Gran Turismo. The original post has lots of details and never said what CAR it was?

It's the X1.
Ok, thanks. Have not found that one yet.

I don't have a USB keyboard, but I did find that THIS works:

3 minutes? This is done for how long you want it to run or till your PS3 quits.

??? In 3 minutes the race will be over and you will have to restart it again and navigate the car again through the first two or three corners.

I'm doing it right now and not helping it do anything. Race after race and no assistance. Using the FGT if that matters.

Just bought me a cheap USB keyboard and my "rig" is now grinding away for me...a big thanks to all the contributors in this thread 👍 👍 👍

I absolutely loved GT3 and GT4 and GT5p so like most I was waiting with serious anticipation for GT5 and to start with it was great but having to repeat races to gain XP and in particular having to race those 24 hour races repeatedly is just not gaming...it's truly disappointing!

[slight tangent]
The other severe disappointment is knowing the game can't be completely beaten with a DS3. Having worked hard to get all gold licences, taming the FGT in it's respective championship and beating all the special events to be faced with the Vettel Challenge is truly disappointing. I'll happily put time towards a task that can be accomplished but that X2010 around Suzuka is just wrong with a DS3...poor form PD, really poor form!

I believe you miss the point of automatic grinding... people are settinng this up then leaving their PS3 for HOURS while the races get performed over and over again.

They go to work, go to sleep, just go away or do something else and then hours later they have thousands and thousands of xp and cr.

Your method requires you to be around your PS3 and actively restart the race all the time as well as do some driving yourself... not nearly the same thing and actually seems kind of bad... I would think you would quite often not remember to come back or get distracted during that 3 minutes and then realize that your PS3 has been sitting there doing nothing for quite a while....
