Has it worked in the past? and Does it work when you manually hit enter after the race?

Yes it was working great. Last 16 hours seems updated. I tried to do maunally, It isn't working in GT5 but PS Home working with enter button. I guess We have to use PS Controller to press X

Might want to update the OP, after the new update its slightly better money to do the like the wind race, than the dream car race: indy is 70K cash/ 14.9K xp for 5 laps, dream is 86K/32Kxp for 10, so over 2 indy races youl get close to twice the cash of the dream car race for almost the same amount of xp (there is an extra load sequence though).. this does also mean you get to another 1000car ticket quicker though :)

My slight mod to this is to reconfigure the left control stick to do turning AND acceleration. Can then just use a single band on the left stick, get it in position and leave it go. Still need the USB keyboard / auto X solution, but configing the left stick in this way makes it a bit easier.

Bro, I tried everything I can do. Nothing working. :nervous:

I did get this to work and I MIGHT know why. When it did work I had the keyboard plugged in when I booted the system. When it did not work was when I plugged the keyboard in after I booted it. Not sure if this is the fix or not, but you might want to give it a whirl.

:)

My enter button seems stopped, Anyone still grinding with holding down enter? I tried my PS Keyboard or Computer usb keyboard. nothing working. Any news?

No problems here with my PS keyboard. I use a small spring clamp

I am having pretty good success with this using the FGT. I am now a little over halfway through level 39. My plan is to go ahead and get to level 40 to buy the red bull car and go to the shorter track to grind for cash for a bit so I can buy a few more cars. After that I will probably take a break from the game for a while to cool off my irritation at the apparent attempts by PD to make much of the game inaccessible to entry level racing gamers such as myself. (If you are going to increase penalties then the AI needs to be subject to the same penalties!) Once I get back to the point that GT5 can be fun for me again I'll go back in and work on my skill level without the pressure of leveling up on top of the rest of it.

A big Thank You to Sincx and all others who devised this. I started last night and it is working flawlessly this morning. I wanted to level up from 29 to 32 so I could do the 4h Nurburgring and this does it in 1 day where as it would have taken me days and days of game play to get there. I really despise the level system and this basically removes it.

The only difficulty I had was that after the first race my enter key wouldn't repeat. I had setup the controller with elastics and then taped down the enter key. However, I then plugged in the controller to a USB cable, and this must have cancelled the repeat function on the enter key. I released and retaped the enter key and it has been going flawlessly ever since.

Before I started I did engine and suspension overhaul on the X2010. (The Bob's had beat up on it). It started with mid 43s laps. This morning it was still making mid 44s laps.

Now the only problem will be finding ways to spend all the credits. Thanks to duping and birthday tickets I pretty much have all the high priced cars. I'm level 40 B-spec though so maybe I'll buy 1 or 2 colored X2010's.

I cannot thank whoever discovered this auto grinding. I wish I had used it earlier. I started on Saturday and by this morning I have bought the ferari race car, the f2010, the lamb miura, a purple x2010.

Prior to this I had sweated blood grinding and levelling to 40 in both A and B spec.

Two rubber bands on the DS3 and a cold chisel propped up on end over the [Enter] key on a USB keyboard = 43k every 5.5 minutes for last place on the 5 lap Indy race in the American Championship using a race modified ZR1 wall hugging at about 60 seconds per lap, i.e., you don't need an X2010 to make a boat load of credits relatively quickly on autopilot.

I tried the grinding on Indy and it does work. But wanted it to be faster, so with a little work on modifiying the method to use the rubber band, and the enter key but instead of a way of kind of holding the steering to the right some. I built a little box device with a piece of cardboard that slides left to right and pushes the steering wheel with just the amount of turn you want. With this change I am now able to grind on the Like the Wind race.
I finish between 15 and 16 races an hour. At 70,000 cr per race that is a minimum of 1,050,00 credits an hour. I am finished with the races and just need to find and buy some race cars missing from my garage. Here is an image from gran-turismo.

How to make 1.000.000 credits every our? Read below.

Last week I started the A-spec grind for my self, and i figured out the best way to do it.

I started with the BWM V12. I tuned it to the max to do the dreamcar race, 6 place was the highest i could do grinding.

This is how you set up your car:
- All assist must be of (the first post on this thread is wrong about that).
- Downforce must be low as possible
- Don't use normal tires but RAIN tires. (this makes the car 0.5 sec faster)

How to set up your DS3 controler:
- Use 2 elastic bands on the joysticks (L3 and R3) wrap them over the front of the controler and put the around the handlebars. This will force the joysticks to the front. Position the L3 stick a little bit to the right, the elastic band will hold it in place.
- Use a USB keyboard and put a heavy book on the ENTER key or force the X-button to be pressed all the time.

Now start the race a let the car run by itself. Make sure the L3 stick is just far enough to the right to to make the car stay in the wall, butt not tho far so your car will slow down. This is important because it will have a big effect on the topspeed of the car.

I a'm now past level 30 and won the Red Bull X2010. I now grind in the like the wind race, i can win it easy.

When I left to work this AM my X2010 was circling Indy nicely. I was at 10000000 credits and halfway between 34 and 35. I get home afterwork and the screen says I need to update to use GT5. After the update I have only 2million credits and barely level 33. Damn update cost me 12 hours of grinding.

Then I restart my grinding and it goes fine until the end. Now it gets stuck on the receiving credits screen. Every time I push the enter key it works, but won't repeat. I'm thinking the update changed something. I unplug the keyboard and replug it in. Still wouldn't work. Then I notice I had set my control on the edge of the keyboard and it was pushing on a letter key and canceling the enter key. I removed that and retaped the enter key. Now it's working perfectly. Finally got it back to working smoothly again.

From now on I'm going to log off PSN network before doing any auto-grinding or endurances.

Logging off PSN isn't enough, you need to disable the Internet on your PS3.

Is it possible to do this using a wheel with the Force Feedback unplugged and the wheel locked so that it keeps the car up against the wall and something holding down the accelerator pedal. Also, if I used my wheel do I have to use a keyboard or can I simply use my controller with the "X" button taped or somehow held down?

Wheel works flawlessly, Just use a rubber band to pull up the R3 joystick on the DS3 for accelerator, Buy a cheap USB keyboard and lock the Enter button on the number pad with a folded piece of paper. Keep wheel & keyboard plugged into USB ports on PS3 and plug controller into PC USB so it doesnt run out of juice. Dedicate 1 X2010 for grinding as it kills the engine after a while and you wont make the same power again.

Thanks Tony, actually setup the wheel last night. I happened to have an heavy expandable rod, the kind that has rubber stoppers on both ends and unscrews, and mounted it between my accelerator and the bottom of the wheel once I got the car just rubbing up against the wall.

If you have a controller, then IMO you making life hard for yourself. As far as a keyboard they are as cheap as $5. Taping the [X] button will not work unless you have a rapid fire controller.

I concur. There really is no reason to fuss with a wheel. It is so easy to slip two elastics over the controller and then just slide the left side stick slightly to the right. Adjust the left stick so you just get to 250-260MPH at the end of the long straights. The G-force meter should bounce around 0.5-0.75 when going down the straights. After the race starts plug in the keyboard with the key jammed down and that's it. Trust me. This is so easy to setup you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
