Gauging Interest-DTM Series

Its good to see this starting to come together. For a while I thought it wasnt going to work out. There is plenty of interest for this now, 20-24 racers, thats awesome.

I'm in BTW.

As for the US racers, I've been having pratice races almost every night and tonight is no exception. It will be hosted around the same time, 8:30ish p.m. Pacific, 2100 GMT, and I will post up a room number again later tonight.
 
Sounds good Smudger. I would suggest providing a room number as well, its a lot easier for people to find the race?

I think between you (smudger) covering the UK with pratice races and myself hosting in the US that we will have the racing group well covered for tuning sessions and pratice races thus making for some tight and close racing. :)
 
It's great to see the two of you working together on this (from EU and NA perspectives) and makes for a great series with a potentially very exciting Across the Pond DTM Finale.

Haven't managed to make it for practice / tuning yet but will definately devote some time over the weekend to joining you guys (around my Daytona 500 race of course :drool:)

May be it's a good idea to have the rules for the championship (heavy damage, max bhp, all aids off, etc.) already set. That way we can get used to what we can expect during the races.

I think we should have ABS as optional instead of off, as from what i can tell GT5 likes to snatch brakes.

It was just me last night, had one guy racing with me for a couple races but I don't think he was a GTP member. If anything I'm getting my cars dialed in. :sly:

Don't know yet if I will be hosting a room tonight. I will post up in a few hours if I will or will not be hosting. It would be open at 8 p.m. PST, or 5 a.m. GMT. (at least I think thats the right GMT Time??)

No I havn't entered that cup race. I'll look into it and see whats going on.

I am def interested. I am in Melbourne so can only run when you guys run the sessions on Friday and Saturday nights (my weekend mornings) please let me know when the next race / test will be held and I will dial in. Give me the GMT time and I will work it out ! Cheers
 
turns out i will be hosting a lobby tonight.

Its slated for 8 p.m. Pacific, which is 5 a.m. GMT? At least I believe thats what it is.

Will be open for possibly 1.45-2 hours..ish.

I might be back late tonight for another stint. Possibly around 12 a.m. which I have to imagine is 9 a.m. GMT.

Will post lobby numbers for both times soon so stay posted!

Good test/races last night with symp including an epic side by side duel from racasse to portier (cote d'azur). However i took a step backwards in my tuning, i turned small oversteer into massive oversteer so looks like ill be tuning again tonight :indiff:

I'm not too sure if i'll be hosting, have a lot of assignments to complete.
But i'll let you all know if i am.:)

Same here. I Finished dialing in my A4 and CLK but I've been trying to pick up the 190 Evo II Touring for the longest time and just got one tonight! I'm falling in love with it and now I have to start from scratch and make it handle the way I want it to. What I have noticed about it is, it has killer acceleration, easily one of the best of all the DTM's because of its weight. I've noticed that it doesn't "stick" as well as say the CLK at 100 mph+, it seems to float. Has anyone else noticed this also?

As a side note, is the rule going to be stock HP or are we going to shoot for the real HP of these DTM cars back when they were racing which was as close to 500 HP as possible?

Wish I could have driven more today. But had to have dinner on the beach at over 30 degrees with friend and family. It sucks living in Melbourne!!!!!!! Only kidding. Loved it, but would have secretly liked some more time tuning my e190 and making it handle better. Thanks S4 for racing and apologies again for shooting off. Would have loved to race more. I will be back on line again , but being nearly 15 hours ahead of you my weekend is closing in on ending. Its late now but time to tune. Hope to catch you either my Sunday your Saturday or next weekend !! Will be running the a4 as the e190 did not have the legs !!!!!!! Or does she !!! See you next time

Yeah, that was some close racing there! Too bad I spun out though, otherwise... :sly: But this is exactly what I was looking for. Some serious clean competitive racing. I really hope there will be more of this with more participants.

So which steps have to be taken to have this championship getting started?

Is the topic starter (takl23) still on this?
 
Good racing last night. Had quite a lot at one stage.
Think we started the race with 6 and ended with 4.
Sorry had to leave so early.
Quite close between kamy and s4rings.
Had to pause to let my wife in at about lap 3 and couldn't make up the lost time.
