What other reason is there? Hoping that a piece of paper will somehow help to define you? All the other reasons for marriage can be expressed and lived without that little piece of paper that says you're married.

Don't use the usefulness of something to hide the truth - to you, we aren't the same. Forgive me for wanting things to be a little more level. I don't want your christian marriage. I want something of my own.

Point is, gays want the right just because they can't have it. Want to be treated equally, well your not.

Not that it is true that gays want the right just because they can't have it, but all citizens should be treated equally by the government they pay for... at least that's what Franklin and Jefferson thought (not that everyone was treated equally in their time either).

If you can't respect others just because they think differently then you then that's a perfect sign of immaturaty. Like a little kid taking his toys and going home when he doesn't get his way.

You need to check your attitudes. If you want to be gay, well I don't condone it but fine. But just because you choose a different "lifestyle" don't hate on those that are of an opposing mindset. I certainly don't hate you or any other gays. I've had gay friends in the past and didn't hate on them. So why are you hating on us?

Yes. Ten didn't just chose to be gay, his attraction towards men started to develop. The same way my attraction ward women started to develop.

LOL, Well let's see. I'm black. And no I don't like KKK people at all. But I still have respect for them as people that have enough guts to stand up for what they believe in. Even when they're wrong. Is that not the essense of freedom of speech and expression?

They preach hate, though. In Canada, all KKK rallies are banned. I saw a video of one of their rallies and it's just horrible. The head honcho is against like everyone. Catholics, jews, blacks, the spanish, chinese, gays, indians, everyone but white christians. That's just going too far, IMO, but since Americans are all about "free speech/hate" I guess we just gotta contend with 'em.

What strikes me as odd, however, is that an organization can rally to exterminate entire races of people and get away with it because of "free speech" , but a rocker can't put on a concert and play some loud music.

Well...I'm certainly not changing any minds around here. Point is, gays want the right just because they can't have it. Want to be treated equally, well your not. Homosexuals are different than Heterosexuals. Accept who you are and move on... As long as I can vote, I will make sure that I support marriage as it relates to a Husband and Wife. I will not condone, nor bend my morals just so homosexuals can save a few bucks on their tax return. Is it harsh, maybe a little...and I'm sorry if I've come across strongly....but this is just one of many things that people wine about. Please refer to Duke's "Entitlement" thread where the gut rot of our country is being scratched at by every one who's playing the victim because they were dealt a raw deal and that their house isn't as nice as the Jones.

People keep asking me what I think of one person doing this or that and making a choice that only affects their life and makes them happy.

And I always reply with, "It's not my life to decide or dictate what is right to them. So long as they are happy and aren't hurting anyone, then I wish them my best."

#1. That whole post was condescending, a way of dodging my previous post. The whole "you dont get it", "Im sorry your offended", "get it yet?" crap is utterly annoying and does nothing for your character or credibility.

I didn't just one day say, "You know what? No women for me!"

I was 18. I had a girlfriend. We never really got "too close", even if she wanted to. One day she asked me why I wouldn't go to bed with her, to which I replied, "I just don't find you sexually stimulating - nor can I think of a woman that I do."

She, thankfully, understood and we remained close friends. It came up now and then. People overheard it. Rumors spread about me having anal sex with dogs and sleeping with random people just to lower their reputation.

I left highschool in the eleventh grade because I couldn't face any of the people there.

I certainly wouldn't have chosen this life. But it was the hand I was delt. So forgive me if I play it to it's fullest and refuse to believe it's worth less than anyone else's as it is.

As much as I hate the KKK, it's kinda scary that they can't even have rallies, even if it's going to be peaceful.
