It's called a press release, it gives all the details and info on the car.

Well that I know

I was just saying he linked me to the press releease not the picture like he said. It's all good though. :sly:

I said nothing about a picture but won't argue with you.

I'm loving all the extra attention to detail I am seeing from most american cars lately and the Viper is proving to be no exception. I'm not overly happy about the front but still alot better looking than the SRT-10 in my opinion. Also I have heard over at Jalopnik that the new Viper has already set a new world record at Leguna Seca but can't find anything confirming that yet.

Say, I think I see the reason behind the Headlight's design. One only needs to look at the Viper logo and it makes sense: They've styled the Headlights after the eyes of a snake. Looking at it with that thought, the Grille and Headlight combination makes much more sense to me now. It also further confuses me on where everyone is getting the "It looks like a Ferrari" comparisons from because I honestly still don't see any of it.

Smart man.....

from the shape of the Head (hood) to the tip of the nose (the V in the grill)

The only car in the WORLD that looks like the Animal its named after...

But yeah, the snake look was nailed.

Just my honest opinion here, but i don't like it.

The styling looks like they ripped parts of a Ferrari (front), Lambo (backlights), and Corvette (also front) and put it all in one. From the side it still looks like the old viper.

Lost it's identity a little...

This car looks great, it's like a mix between the older gen Vipers/SRT10 and the Maserati Granturismo S. It does have hints that it's perhaps designed by an Italian. Maybe Jason Castriota with his American-Italien ties?

Although, I do prefer the older front but the rear is definitely an improvement.

Great job by Chrysler! Hopefully the car will handle well.

I think all it really needs is a differently styled hood, maybe just lose the 2 gaping holes and just add some slits instead or get rid of them altogether.

That would make a massive difference. Had I the skills, I'd shop something up.

That central duct is still in a stupid place, though.

Blasphemy!

Man I'm still on the fence on this car. I think I need to see it in something other than red!

Looks brilliant, especially at a rear perspective at 3 quarters. It's great that they've kept the overall signature body shape, while managing to make it sleeker than ever. It still looks like a veritable Viper to me. What I'm truly impressed by is their commitment to bringing the interior forward from a plain, outdated plastic design suffered by many American cars to envelop the driver in something envious and befitting of a high-end sports car.

Anyone else not liking that corporate lower front grill? On regular cars I wouldn't mind but on cars like this, I feel like there was a compromise made in order to incorporate it.

The front fascia alone gave me hope, however compared to the rest of the car, it looked out of place and completely ruined the visual balance of the car.

Not a good revival if you ask me, and I have to agree with someone from the previous page who said it seems to have lost some of its identity.

Im sure it will still be fast and all that but I doubt it will carry the same appeal of previous generations. Of course, the price could make a huge difference on that front.

Consider me now as part of the "I'm in Love" crowd with the new Viper. I still prefer seeing this car with stripes across the center and with a cleaner-looking hood/bonnet. It looks (to me) much better overall than the current Viper, but I still somewhat prefer the 1990s Vipers style-wise. This new Viper has sophistication and style in its design. Almost as if you'd expect this from Pininfarina or Zagato. Only things I'd really change are the headlights and the hood/bonnet. Otherwise, this car's appearance is growing on me more and more. I noted the corporate grill up front as well. Not sure if you'd let your flagship car carry its corporate look rather than have it establish its own identity.

I surely believe this is the most stylish Viper ever. As an analogy, this new Viper is more like some hard-ass rock star in an Armani suit with a classy haircut. Still a hard ass despite looking so elegant. I wouldn't be surprised to see a roadster or convertible version of the Viper. Though really, I've never been fond of roadster or convertible Vipers to be honest, let alone most roadsters or convertibles to be honest.

I'm thinking $150,000.
It would make sense if it was priced around the ZR1 but vipers have always been more than top of the line corvettes(right?) and since they use a lot of CF I'm thinking Ford GT msrp pricing.

I got to sit in this car for a good 10 minutes today. Lets just set the record straight, you do not know jack until you see and sit in it in person. This car easily competes with an Audi R8 and even a Gallardo in terms of interior material quality. It is fantastic. ZR1, seems like something out of rental bin compared to this. The design is obviously not as subtle and classy as a R8 but its a Viper so anything else would feel wrong. The shifter is absolutely amazing. It feels like a well maintained bolt action rifle. The oh S*** bar in the interior is awesome. The seats are better than the R8s or the Gallardos. They are MP4-12c quality (btw I sat in all 3 of those for comparison).

Bottom line, this car is a step up. According to guy who builds the body panels who was at the show, they are targeting $100k. But this car could easily play with $200k exotics. It is that good. Also, it is indeed one of those cars that looks much better in person. I too thought it was a bit awkward when I first saw pictures. In person, it is like the gen 1 concept modernized. Pure awesome.

Other quick things.

BRZ/FRS shifter is great. Great seats. Great driving position. Lots of room in the engine bay. I have no idea what the **** people where complaining about. Aftermarket should have a field day.

Fisker Karma back seats are useless.

ATS shifter is great. Car seems to be shaping up well as a 3 series fighter. This car is not going to loose without a fight.

Focus and Fiesta ST have **** interiors. Bad driving position. Bad wheel. Bad pedal placement. Horrible knobs and switches. Shifter is acceptable. Let down for me as a Ford fan.

Fiat 500 Abarth is crap on the inside IMO. Also the shifter gets my worst in a sports car award. The throw is like a country mile while the clutch pedal throw is very long.

MP4-12c is better inside than out... but it has the widest door sill I have ever seen. Worse than a lotus.

Lexus trying to be all sporty... still meh.

Lincoln should just freakin quit

Why are all the magazines saying the opposite? I thought it felt fine but not as good as the wrx, which ain't awesome, and miles behind the STI, which is terrific.
