General San Andreas Discussion and Questions

The game does cheat-- I've had my opponents on shotgun take out 2 targets with one shot--it is not your imagination--- I was winning 19 to 18 to 16 in shotgun-- final target came up, my opponent got one shot off before I did and beat me 20 to 19-- I was pissed.

All I can tell you for shotgun is to keep the button pushed as it reloads (after new target starts)--

1. so you get off as many shots as possible
2. I noticed that your target icon gets bigger (noticed this on the uzi and pistol sections) if you hold the button down so you have a better chance of hitting something if its held down

aim between targets as much as possible-- the shotgun will hit something.

For the Ak47 test my only advice is to empty your clip (keep firing til your clip empties) between targets-- this will minimize your reloads while you are shooting out the target.

I'm not sure if your reload is faster in the shooting range or not but it won't hurt you to get "hitman" on each of the weapons that you use in the shooting range-- pistol/uzi/shotgun/ak47 prior to starting---just go on a rampage with each of the weapons if you need to raise your skill.

I'm not sure if you have problems seeing targets but give CJ a close haircut and wear a shirt that covers his arms (his bulging muscles are bigger if he is shirtless or in a tank top)-- wearing a shirt that covers them makes him look smaller on screen.

I did this test alot of times too-- NOT FUN :grumpy:

Skill with a weapon does decrease reload time in the ammunation challange, also an easy way to get your skill up is to shoot at a cars tire untill you get hitman, it always counts as a hit and the car never blows up, quickest possible way to get hitman ;).

I found the shotgun one difficult for a while but as my reloading got faster it became relatively easy, still had to try unlike in everything else :dunce:.

I was also dissapointed with Emmets limited amount of hardware, bit of a shame.

Also, am I the only one slightly dissapointed that they didn't bring the hardware stores back, or at least something similar where you could buy melee weapons?

Yessss, I beat the shooting range! :D

Thanks for the tips, Spuds and Blake. The funny thing is, I thought I was having a lot of trouble on this thing, but in reality, it only took 7 or 8 tries to beat it! :boggled: After reading Spuds post, I went back to the game and beat it on my second try. I was only challenged on level 12 for those attempts. Spuds, I didn't quite get to the point of desperation where I had to change my hair and clothes, but that's still a good tip . By the way, I already had hitman on all guns. Taking over all the territory twice requires a lot of shooting, I just used each type of gun until it was at hitman ;) (AK47 was my favorite 👍 )

I agree that the Emmet thing is pretty lame. I actually didn't even notice that there are no hardware stores. It was neat, but apparently I don't miss it.

I don't miss them, but I think it would be useful to have somewhere you could go to grab a knife without having to go to the desert...And there should be a flower shop ;)

Yeah, the flower shop would be a great addition, instead of having them lie around the place everywhere. Nice thinking. The Hardware Shops would have been handy to have been brought back, even though I didn't really use them.

One thing I definitely want in the next GTA is the ability to drop your weapon/s. I thought this may have been brought into San Andreas, but I was disappointed when I seen you couldn't.

Yeah, that would be a great addition. I've wanted that for ages.

I'm also dissapointed that you can't buy dildos on the sex shop.....wow this sounds suss :odd:...

you can drop your weapons, sort of.
you can exchange, by pressing L1 while standing over a weapon.
i was stuck with some heat vision goggles when i wanted to pick up the parachute from the top of chiliad one day, and this is the only way to exchange, stand in the icon, and then select the icon you want to change to using L2/R2 then press L1 to pickup the new item.

maybe you guys are talkin about this from a different perspective, but i cant see the benefit of dropping all your weapons.

ANYWAY... what i was going to say to you was this..
Have any of you gotten yourselves an NRG 500 and looked really closely at the stickers on the underside of the fairing?
There is a blue sticker, closeest to the front, that is quite hilarious!

i just thought you should know.

oh yeah, and also the bods that know are working on a cheat release very soon that doesnt require any kind of cheat card or Xploder or anything like that which will give you a mission selector, enabling you to try the monster truck time trial all you want.
personally im looking forward to jumping outta that plane again in "stowaway".

i think that monster time trial isnt even in your stats, so im not to fused about redoing it.

So everybody's checked out the blue sticker then?
im in line here with an old find?
thats a shame, i was hoping to cause a stir on the great GTplanet.
dont forget, on the underside of the fairing, on the NRG 500.

Are you sure? Because you can't mod a PS2 game, either the ability to choose missions is already built in to the game or it's impossible without a GameShark or equivalent.

If it's built into the game, then no-one's "working" on it. Maybe they're looking for it or trying to figure out how to activate it, but how can someone put a feature into my game that's not already there, without using a cheat device like an Xplorder?

Maybe its a boot disc?

This is bothering me.
I want more info soon!

As do I! I don't think I'll go through all of the missions again for a good while, but there are a few that I would like to repeat just for fun. . . .

If it's a boot disc, then it's no different from a GameShark or Xploder disc. It's something you have to buy and boot your PS2 from before you stick your San Andreas disc in.

And because PS2s can't read burned discs, then it's either a commerically printed disc or something that will only work with a modded PS2.

I'm still not impressed. It still sounds like horse****.

Welcome back Acidman. I saw your name in the "currently browsing" list of names.

How are you enjoying San Andreas?

KM.

He must have left-- you should have PMed him--- he better come back and say hi-- there are some newbies that haven't been around the legend -- this foum does miss him :(

Spuds

**edit**
I tried to PM him but his message folder is full-- anybody use IM's, he listed a few in his profile...

I've only read about him; I didn't think he really existed!!:dopey: I would kiss the ground which his feet have fell upon and I can only marval about the mass-killing that his eyes have witnessed due to his cold-blooded and mercy-ridden thumbs and pointer-fingers!

 King of Killing

I talk to him a fair bit on MSN, from what hes said he won't be returning to GTP...at least not anytime soon. I've tried to convince him once or twice, I think he browsed for a bit then left. I think he's pretty busy....too busy obviously

:)

I've seen a fair few commercially printed boot disks (for the purpose of cheating, doing missions again etc.) for other GTA game so I wouldn't be suprised if one was made available for San Andreas too.

Just on Acidman, I've talked to him a few times. He doesn't come on too often, and when he does, he seems pre-occupied with other things. Blake and I have both tried to convince him to return for a little while, but I guess he has no intention. Although, that's the first time he's browsed the forum under his user name. Usually he browses as a guest.

Last I heard from him, he was still enjoying San Andreas. I'm not going to try to convince him anymore, though. He's obviously busy with other things, but it'd be nice to see a return from him. Either way, a legend of the GTA games.

Thats too bad-- he may just be a victim of his own legend-- figuring if he can't kill 600,000 in SA, then why show up here (he has an image to live up to)-- or may just be too busy to participate in the recordbook (which can be time consuming).....

I've learned to deal with the fact that I'm no longer a killing machine (nor do I have much of a desire to be one)-- I will go over 100,000 kills before I'm done with SA though-- might take me a year or more.

I might learn to use an IM program if thats the only way to chat with him-- he helped make this sub forum so great. I hope he one day re-considers participating here.

i have a theory as to why he might not want to be on here as often.
You guys.
i mean cmon, i come on here (admittedly i only started when the GT4 hype machine got into motion) with some genuine info sometimes, and im shouted down.
I find a funny to share with the world, and no ones interested, at least none of you extremely regulars, i feel knocked back all the time by your responses, and im sure i understand that there are people who seem to have nothing better to do than type bull onto the forums and get peoples backs up, but i am not one of them.
I came hereto find out information about GT4 and GTA and so far this has been the most valuable resource for me i can begin to tell you...... but i have nearly always been put down by the regulars everytime i post, and that doesnt make me want to come back.
I read on the bottom of a web page i visited via a link from one of the regular people here that they had so many cheats for GTA SA and that by looking at the code, they had seen the possibility of a level select amongst other things to be brought out from it, they just had to figure out which button presses on the pad in which order would produce a working version. i thought that it was appropriate to mention that here, seeing as i was led to this info from one of you guys in the first place.
if i could remember which link it was from i would say.
Leave it with me, i will attempt to find it.
read my sig.

edit:

http://www.gtasanan.com/sam/
found it.
select the cheats section on the left of the screen, scroll to the bottom, and read the following:

Quests through the source code of the game also reveal hidden button codes for things such as all cars with nitrous, all cars with hydraulics, infinite health, infinite ammo, infinite oxygen, never wanted, anyone can be recruited to your gang, spawn Hunter, spawn Dozer, all streetlights "strobe" streetlights, all cars turn into bikes / countryside cars / sports cars / special vehicles. Even a 'mission select' code exists, but the button combinations are up to the point of writing unknown. Perhaps we shall find out the combinations in the future, but for now these cheats can only be triggered with cheat devices.

So tell me not to trust then.
And im sorry if this is B/S and i got your hopes up.
