The Formula 3 and the 97T are definitely something else to drive, away from the typical bland GT sound.
While the exhaust sound is too raspy for my taste, I really like the stuff that's going on between shifting,
and upshifts with a bit of throttle applied are fun to listen to. There is even some off throttle exhaust rumble, or how yo wanna call it. However, the quality isn't there yet, as I said the exhaust sounds raspy/distorted, maybe compressed.
On a side note I haven't (yet)driven these Red Bull cars that many people are referring to,
so my opinion is based on the Senna cars.
97T's sound is like an real sound. 👍 Formula 3 and Kart are GT sounds.

Well the kart sounds are obviously copied from the other karts.
But the Formula 3 sound is different than the usual GT premium car,
because it has different sounds for full throttle and off throttle.

The 97T sounds pretty close to the real deal, I just think that it kinda sounds a teeny bit too clean but that's just my opinion.

Yes I know, my point is that in GT6 the Z4 GT3 does sound horrible but in Project Cars it sounds like a real race car. I probably wrote the whole post a little bit wrong and confusing way. English is not my primary language you know.. :embarrassed: (By the way there actually is another type of Z4 GT3. It is older model with less downforce etc. In that vid it is new version which is in GT6 and PCars).

You didn't write your post wrong, I was just pointing out something I thought was ironic.

Hmm... Maybe I should get this game now. If i can find it under 15 bucks. Probably not going to happen,at least not around my area.

I'm happy with the sound of the 97T, but to be more spot on it needs to lose some of the raspy sound. If you listen to an onboard or even trackside clips it sounds more clear and not raspy like that at all. Maybe a bit deeper as well. But still, I'm very happy with the sound, especially considering how bad most cars in the game sound. If they can at least deliver all/most cars at this level in the future I'll be satisfied.

Wow... seriously, you find the sound that good? it's just hopeless.... :guilty: :banghead: the level of expectation is so low for this game, I just want to cry... apart from good spatial reverb and doppler, it sounds nothing like an old F1!!!

You get way too emotional, dude.

Also, you posted a high quality video of the car from the outside in response to a video that was a non-direct capture from an onboard. Ok its not 100%, but its far better then most expected. I say its even better then Codemaster's attempt, which to me was too high pitched.

Lotus97T is a great evolution in game audio.

but it's still far from being good, for example , loses to the F1 2013 PS3/360 ,I spent the afternoon testing and the difference is huge.

the PD can no longer make the same mistake with the next GT for the PS4

You and me both Pepe, finally something that makes me want to have this game. You can already find second hand copies around 15-20$, but also for me that's still a bit too much just for this Senna content, so i'll wait a bit more (got the classic F1's in F1 2013 anyway).

Edit: These sound effects are giving me hope that PD might get it right some day.
Maybe on the PS4 with uncompressed audio, who knows.

You obviously have a good ear. I'd recommend giving the Red Bull cars a go. ;)

The four cylinders, compare below about 6000 rpm, the V6s below about 9000 rpm. In fact, it's fun to short shift the V6s at 7k - 8k, cos it's like a real car, innit.

Thx, I will definitely try the Red Bulls out. :)
If Polyphony could deliver authentic sounds across the board, that would be great.
Do you think PD is preparing the big surprise for the next Gran Turismo?

BTW I happen to have 60 bucks just hanging around and I don't know what to buy. I'm trying to decide between Forza Horizon, F1 2013, a bunch of old NFS titles like Carbon and MW 2005 for my 360, maybe even GT6 if I'm in the right mood or something else from another genre.

I'm telling you man, if PD keeps this attitude and support in the upcoming months, I'm giving them my money and more importantly, my hopes on a PS4 GT will be restored. I was very close to abandoning the PlayStation brand completely but they managed to get my attention back.

I hope they keep it up for the sake of the series, the PS brand and the fans.

Who are you and what have you done with @PepeMickey ? :odd::odd:

I'm in this phase that i just wait it out and then pick up games at 10-20€, F1 2013 is great fun, i can definitely recommend that one just for the classic content; racing is tight and apart from the Lotus you have old Ferrari's and Williams available + classic Estoril, Brands and Jerez also 👍

Now, this is what i want Kaz to say about sounds and why they are so important. And since this is a cargame and connected with Sony i Think it may very well tell us that GT7 will have great sounds too (I really see that connection in my mind anyway :) ) And if Mercedes wants those sounds then please pass them forward to PD. That ferrari BETA soundclip is miles ahead of the formula sound i see many here cheering so wild about.

Extremely wishful thinking. From what Kaz has said in the past, he couldn't care less what other games are doing. Especially when it comes to sound which is always an afterthought in GT.

If you want to hear a good accurate already-in-game sound, just listen to the Nismo R32 GT-R S-Tune. To me, it sounds absolutely spot-on.

There ARE some good sounding cars in the game. It's just that nobody mentions them.
