This is an idiotic discussion...Me being VERY critical with all the things GT5 does wrong (Faulty network servers, a ridiculous meny system, too many Lancers, Skylines and Imprezas, way to few tracks and a few things more)

BUT SOUND is one thing that GT5 does very well...If You listen to DonZondas video, Gt5 is the realistic one...The other one being NOISIER thats all...To me "the other" BMW M5 sounds like a US car...

And the racecars...Well how many of You have actually driven a Toyota GT-ONE??? Answer: NONE of You....So none of You can tell, which ones the most realistic...

Perhaps You have noticed that modern cars REALLY SOUNDS A LOT LIKE VACUUM CLEANERS...Especially luxury sounddamped cars...And yes SOUND DAMPED expensive cars don`t make much noise these days...If You drive a luxury car You will find, that most noise comes from the wind, whirling around the outside mirrors, the engine is distant. The higher the speed, the more wind noise takes over..So the other game is simply too loud and childish...

OK the whining sound of turbos is the only thing better on "the other game" - GT5 doesn`t make much of it...

But I AM critical to GT5...They too have forgotten the wind sound that they did so fine in GT5Prolog... I recall the wind sound disappearing when slipstreaming, and coming back when overtaking...But I can live without that...

And yes, I also have noticed that GT5 re-uses a lot of the engine sounds in different cars...Thats understandable, as many cars really sounds like each other IRL...

And I guess "the other gamr" does the same...

So what I´m saying is that ENGINESOUND is the LEAST of things thats wrong with GT5...In fact they do well in this matter...WHHOOOUUUPP...(hark hark hark)

http://www.youtube.com/user/19Bozzy92/videos

Just no to everything on your post

EVERYTHING?? - Then You think thats nothings wrong with GT5 online servers menu systems etc...???

But the sound...I listened to 2-3 of the sounds in Your link...A couple of racecars going by...Thats something else....And I`m not saying that GT5 sounds perfect...Nor do "the other game"..What I`m saying is that SOUND is the least of GT5`s problems....A luxury problem if You like...If I could decide for PD, I would say SOLVE THE MAJOR PROBLEMS FIRST..(online servers, freezing problems, a modern menusystem, MORE TRACKS aso) and THEN play a little around with the engine sounds...You really should agree on that one...But thanks for responding to my post...:dunce:

LOL Yes. Also, he never went to a real race track in his life by his comment. 👍

Only once was I on a race track, as it doesn`t interest me...

But in GT5 I´m in the car, not outside...I don`t know what its like sitting in a real Toyota GT-One, neither do You....

But i`m saying that sound is a small problem, 1000 things are much more urgent to be fixed....

But i`m saying that sound is a small problem, 1000 things are much more urgent to be fixed....

Start with everyone of them, please.

Sound is a great part of the IMMERSION in every racing game. Some people can´t even concentrate because of the sound, or even fall asleep (tell me about it...), or even be slower because of not having the proper rev sounds (intake/exhaust).

It is a HUGE part of the SIMULATION.

They fixed the physics which was one of the main things that was poor in the series. (new suspension and tyre model)

I think you are talking about features and not about technical issues that appeared in GT5, and I think you are a little bit confused.

Features are not tied to technical related stuff.

This is an idiotic discussion...

No it isn't.

BUT SOUND is one thing that GT5 does very well...If You listen to DonZondas video, Gt5 is the realistic one...The other one being NOISIER thats all...To me "the other" BMW M5 sounds like a US car...

Please stop saying things like this. No, it doesn't do sound "very well".

And the racecars...Well how many of You have actually driven a Toyota GT-ONE??? Answer: NONE of You....So none of You can tell, which ones the most realistic...

That's just unbelievably daft and is in no way a cogent rebuttal; I've never driven the HSV-010 GT but that doesn't change the fact that the audio sample is flat out wrong.

But i`m saying that sound is a small problem, 1000 things are much more urgent to be fixed....

That may ring true with regards to the whole game from some people's perspective including your own. But most if not all of those problems fall under different departments and are not the sound department's problems. So basically the only problem the sound dept. has, is the sound. Meaning better sound should be their only priority and is in no way going to slow down the rectification of any other problems you think should be a priority.

Its not important if an issue is technical or "just" a feature...The menu system drives me crazy, the sound doesn`t...

And the faulty online servers is a technical issue indeed...I`m not confused....
But You people are right about the sound could be improved, but to me thats a minor minor minor thing...And after all it`s not that bad...If the sound makes You fall asleep, go see Your nice Sleep Doctor...Or play some heavy metal...

But all that, that you are mentioning here seems to be fixed by now.

Online should be better in GT6, the menus were reworked and work faster than before.

You should take a look into this thread:

Start to go back and find videos about the press conference and all what is new and better than in GT5. ;)

In details You are 100% correct....But again, I imagine being a supervisor on the game as a whole, and as such, I would say: Make a modern menusystem, the current one is ridicoulous, fix the online servers, etc etc etc...I`m not interested in who does what....

...I`m not interested in who does what....
Not all the people they hire can do the jobs of each other (e.g. someone who works for engine sounds may not have the skills to work on the physics), so your argument is poor at best.

Thought this was common sense.

Take a drive in the Tesla roadster and then tell me sound isn't a huge part of the experience. 👎

Fixed by now??? In GT5??? Not by me...My screen freezes over and over, have to restart the game 2-3 times sometimes...(And sometimes everything is finefine, but not for long)

Or do You mean it´s fixed in Gt6...Hopefully, hopefully....Thks for being nice to me after all...

Yes, I was talking about GT6 of course.

GT5 is the game with a lot of problems. This is the GT6 forum and we talk about GT6 here. ;)

Are you even trying to make an argument?

I made my argument in the post You replied to...Kaz should spent his money on the "online-server-crew" BEFORE he throws money after the "sound-crew" Thats a good argument...And clear...:dunce:

Except your whole post was about sound...So yes he did respond to your WHOLE post. :dunce:

The top tools for immersion in a simracing game are Physics, Sound, and Graphics. A perfection of all three brings complete immersion on the game side. Menu systems and servers are not as important to the actual simracing experience as sound and physics and graphics. They are important to the gaming experience.

Sounds and physics and the graphics issues should be touched up on before things like menu systems and servers. If you have horrible screen tear and previous generation graphics, with vacuum sounds and crappy physics, but a great menu system and good servers, then the game is not good. Besides nobody will be on the servers if all they hear Dysons going around a track.

Receptionist: Hello Mr Light Driver, Dr. Molar is overbooked today so I'll be performing your root canal...... :dopey:

You'll most probably get more serious problems than this if you get the sound guys to pitch in......

OK but for me it was the GT5 sound track in this very thread that I replied to. And then everyone jumped me...But thats OK kind of lol really

Which makes a little bit more sense than your previous post, where you implied that the people were already hired and then they were told to do these different jobs.

Even so, do you realize the amount of people PD have hired for sound? Based on GT5, only two. You can only lay off a certain number of employees of a certain area before this area starts to suffer, and this goes to employees of all areas.

We see what you tried to say.

Don't waste time with improving something not very important or already decent, sound in this case, and better spend it in fixing major problems.

You are very very wise...You UNDERSTAND...Yeah....Are You woman??? If so I`ll marry You immediatly...If You`re male, I just like You, thats all....Thks for Your clearsight:tup:
