Got a copy of GT6, ask questions here

One more thing: I drove the R8 LMS Ultra and it was very, very hard to drive. It spins way too easily, even with racing soft tires and when you break hard it just loses control, unlike in GT5. I had to drive it very smoothly to not spin out.

In GT5 we had the same with the Murcielago.

We have to remember, the short enduros could be for the reviewers. The game shouldnt be in consumers hands until Friday. So the reviewers would probably critique just on the patch but, have knowledge of the initial game. Many users would probably patch as soon as the game is inserted, as there might be a prompt to read "update available version xx"(I dont know).

Oh also forgot to mention one thing. I beat the first race, which is the 20-mile Willow Springs race (8 laps)

The tires went bad very fast. I was using sports soft and one of the tires was almost all black by the 4th lap. Same was with the fuel, I only had about half on the 4th lap. It felt like they were trying to give you the feel of long races but make it a lot shorter.

The leading car was a FXX, which I gott admit wasn't easy to catch and it sort of kept up with me after I overtook it. So it felt challenging. Then again, I was using the Ford GT, which is a real pain to drive with 650 PP (that was the limit).

Sounds like Gran Turismo to me!! Really like what i'm hearing!! Can't wait!!

In the in game menu is there still a option to change interior view? if so what are the options?
In gt5 there's Standard, Narrow and Narrower I think....

Majority of people will play the game as it sits in the case. And why would reviewers go out on release day to buy the game when they would likely receive copies prior? Plus, the career is opened up as you progress, so having that progression scheme alone would dismiss the "review" version of the game, no?
There are still 2 levels of the game to unlock and there's a chance long enduros are under the IB/IA levels.

I said consumers should not have the gameyet, not reviwers. The reviewers cant critique until Friday, yes or no? Or the 5th in Japan. If we had no info from the early bird releases, I most likely would have booted up the game on friday and installed the patch without knowing what I know now.

Erm...the guys who are giving us all the information on GT6 aren't reviewers, they are normal guys who got their hands on the retail version of the game. And don't get your hopes up with the day one patch thing...

I can understand why people are worried.

However, even if there is hidden endurance races, these 'super' events still seem pretty ridiculous. don't they? My motivation to earn the Super licence is that I can then enjoy events such as Like The Wind and Formula GT! Not races that would require one pitstop at most!
There was a picture somewhere in this thread (I think) that had a screen of Like The Wind. It had a race with one full lap of SSRX :nervous:

Umm, thats what I said in my post. Arent the reviewers supposed to not critique until the patch? Who's getting their hopes up? We get what we get when we get it.

How did the race start? Was it a proper rolling start with everyone together? Or was it single file ala chase the rabbit?

Does GT6 seem to be running at the same resolution as the 2013 GT Academy demo? They were pushing native 1440x1080 on there, a step up from GT5's 1280x1080. I know it's hard to actually see this, I'm just really curious as that's an impressive native resolution for now "last gen" technology. Also explains some of the bad FPS people were getting in the demo as it wasn't completely ironed out yet.
Yep, 1440x1080. They basically traded the multi sampling for the higher res. It seems they have re optimised the engine to balance it to using the the PS3's mighty cell proc and switching the load away from the gfx CPU. Which is probably a sensible move given the power of cell vs the relatively puney gfx CPU.

rolling start and then chase the rabbit
Thanks, so everyone was side by side, then it turned into a sensation V chase the rabbit? Where the leader took off and left everyone behind.

Or were the other cars already across the line when you got the green flag?

Sorry for not being clear, but it was just chase the rabbit. When I started he was ahead by like 18 seconds and then slowly caught up to him. All of us also had to pit since by lap 4 I had less than half fuel, so that helped too since we entered the pit in different laps.

Why do people keep saying it could unlock endros in IB IA licenses S is the last license IB IA come before that. Those are the endurance races Katz stated this before that the endurance races were being changed to make the feel of long endurance races but in a short period of time such as 24 minutes that we are seeing.

GT6 marks a new approach to a GT game. They are going to make mistakes- as long as we let them know we have, GT7 should in theory remedy the problem!
I see. Alright. 👍

I have got over it. I've cancelled my pre-order. Replacing Endurance races with 20 odd minute sprint races is a deal breaker for me.

182 race career mode. There just isn't enough in this to justify full game money.
Okay, no problem.

These races simply can't be the end of the carreer mode. That would be embarassing!

I never drove the 24h races but i really enjoyed the 4h Nürburgring!

It is embarassing but its the truth its the way he wanted it. He wants the carrer to be this "Compared to GT5, though, I think the tempo and flow of the game will be a lot quicker and easier." Katz stated that in the Gtplanet interview

Cause I'm stupid and thought IB/IA came after S.
Thanks and apologies.

I personally loved the endurace races in GT5 I did them all and found them to be the best part of GT5. I even did some of them over again in a lower powered car to make it more of a challenge. I hope they put them back in GT7. And will still buy this game that I have had preordered for months.

I understand completely why PD shortened the endurance races, mainly because only a small percentage of people who bought GT5 actually completed them. Very few people nowadays have time to do single races for multiple hours and even if they do, they may get bored coming back to it day after day. It took me an entire week to complete the 24 hours of Le Mans and i got bored of it about 4 hours in. Is it bad that i've never been a huge fan of endurance races on video games? No.
