Got a copy of GT6, ask questions here

Yeah but this is how america has gotten and its pisses me off. A some percentage of people hate or don't play a part of the game so lets get rid of it so the majority of people who loved the enduraces races suffer.

It won't be surprising at all if there are no endurance races beyond what we've seen so far. Kaz or someone at PD said that they vast majority of players are casual and it looks like in many ways, they redesigned the offline modes for the more casual players. A very simple option to appeal to all players would have been to have endurance and other races adjustable by the driver. More laps = better prize cars. So you can run 24 minutes and win an RX-7 or 24 Hours and win an LMP or anything in between. Some very simple programming, requires no memory, presents no hardware issues. Instead, so far anyway, we get really dumbed down endurance racing designed to satisfy the common denominator instead many of the really hardcore fans that supported the series for 15+ years. Bad move PD, bad move. 👎

But since this actually makes sense, I'm pretty sure that it won't be in the game. In this form, at least.

Sorry for not being clear, but it was just chase the rabbit. When I started he was ahead by like 18 seconds and then slowly caught up to him. All of us also had to pit since by lap 4 I had less than half fuel, so that helped too since we entered the pit in different laps.
Thanks Rehdogg15. Have all your races started that way? Any variation to race formats beyond initial pre-race rules?

So, because 'Mericans are lazy this made a Japanese game publisher alter a game that sells millions of copies all over the world? That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up for us. 👍

PD has all the data in the world to know which feature of the game is used or isn't. It just happens that they ignored all other aspects of the game and decided to dump long enduros because no one bothered with them.
I'm also certain not only the US is to blame as we account for ~1/4 of the GT5 sales.

No because thats how these "casual" or as I call it lazy gamers are they don't want to play a race for 24 hours so they complained and they took it out of GT6.

I still got lots of races left, so there might be something else that's new. Anyway, in the GT300 championship that I played it was a double file rolling start. TheGT300 races felt really nice and were challenging. I mean, I was faster than the AI but they kept on catching up with me. For example, on Fuji I was in the lead with some gap that I made the whole lap, but then the guy in the 2nd position slipstreams on the very long straight and overtakes me.

Yep, 1440x1080. They basically traded the multi sampling for the higher res. It seems they have re optimised the engine to balance it to using the the PS3's mighty cell proc and switching the load away from the gfx CPU. Which is probably a sensible move given the power of cell vs the relatively puney gfx CPU.
Nice, if they are using MLAA, which is what Digital Foundry said for the 2013 GT Academy demo, that's good. I rather enjoy the MLAA filter, it works really well on jaggies when I use it on PC games. Aside from the slight blur, the screen becomes really smooth, even at a lower resolution.

Why didnt they have some mid level endurance races like 50 laps? PD is the most uncreative developer on the planet. Same simple setup, same number of laps m chase the rabbit.....This is not racing. Where is the varitey in events different lenghths, laps, championships? Cannot believe what I am reading.

Hi

Thank you for your brilliant input.

Would you be able to tell us
- Brake upgrade options?
- In card view for "standard" cars? still black area or?

Endurance races are miles better with real people instead of boring AI. In fact, anything on this game is better with real people. This is 2013, make some online friends.
BS other games have no trouble being boring against AI......most console gamers dont pay online... you realise most people who plat GT play offline right? Gt5 sold 11 million, only a fraction race online. Online can also be an exercise in frustration.

Yeah...I'm lazy because I don't want to sit around and play video games for hours on end. Sound logic....hahahaha

There was a picture somewhere in this thread (I think) that had a screen of Like The Wind. It had a race with one full lap of SSRX :nervous:

I might just go play Gran Turismo 3 until PD release a game that isn't designed for people with the attention span of a fish. 18 miles for a Like The Wind event is a joke. I suppose it's a little bit better than 5 laps at Indy, though.

GT3's Like The Wind was best. I loved taking on the Escudo Pikes Peak and CTR2 in my fully tuned Dodge Viper!

This is 2013, to say most console gamers don't play online is borderline retarded.

Sorry if that was a little harsh...

Oh wow. Thanks for the insult buddy :odd:

- Only one upgrade for breaking, which is called racing brakes or something similar. Noticeably improves the brakes.
-Standards are still pretty much the same, except for the lights thing at night.

People who don't run 24 hour races are lazy to you? I understand that you enjoy endurance racing but to call people who don't like them lazy is just down right ignorant.
And btw, casual gamers are not lazy, they just play the things that they enjoy and play games for their own personal fun.

There is a brake upgrade option, and standard cars still are blacked out, but they do look better.

Yeah your lazy because you want to earn something but put no effort to get it. You dont want to play it then dont, but dont expect a reward for not doing it thanks for ruining for everone else.

"People like X while I like Y. People that like X are therefore worse/dumber/lower/other insult than me and others who like Y"

Thats whats hes saying basically.

Yes it is you guys complained that the race was to long and PD saw this and decided to make them shorter so you would be happy.

Just like people complained that they didn't have health care so now everybody has to have crappy health care so we can pay for the poor people who wont get a job.

I didn't play the 24 hours in any GT since then but i don't think it's a good thing not to put them in the game thinking that 8 laps races with accelerate fuel and tires getting low will replace it... Sounds really strange to me. Especially if the B-Spec is back as it was in GT4...
