They don't even look as good as they did in GT4 from what iv seen so far.

Unless PD has gone in to really make their cars look WORSE, I somehow doubt that. As far as I have seen ( mind you the full grid of standards, not the two closeups everyone is bashing, of One car, out of perhaps 799 who look alot better ). There is bound to be a bad apple, when there is that amount of number involved. It's no easy task to make those even compatible with all the new gadgets that has been introduced with GT5.

Wait for launch, judge with skeptical eyes if you must, but most people will probly not notice standard cars the first time they come across them, unless you prefer staying up in peoples bumpers heavily 💡

How is that possible when GT4 was SD and these are HD...

The focus is on the premium cars but the standards are a + for the game, even though there are really old cars in that game and the car list is still dissapointing for me...

When the standard cars have the same physics as the premiums, I´m fine with that...

You can move around anywhere like a floating camera with just the analogue stick and shoulder buttons to rise up and down. It's very obvious and logical way. It works brilliantly. The GT4 way is archaic.

I love standard cars ! they arent beautiful in compare with premium but they are looking good ! specially from far views :)

Are you serious ?!

I do actually agree with you, but for some reason the GT5 wing mirrors look kinda crappy in comparison there...

By the way, Jordon warned us that if we get this thread heading into the "Forza/GT" argument again, he'll issue 5-day bans to people. So...be warned.

And the subject of this thread is?

Why are people quoting me with nonsense replies?

RDK is posting pictures in GT5. I want to know how the camera is controlled. I mentioned Forza 3 incase the guy has seen that for further insight into what I'm asking. I mentioned how GT4 uses many camera positions and want to know is it different or are we still stuck to cycling through cameras.

You've got to be joking.

The video was for those how already quoted and don't understand about the free camera. My initial post was without a video and just a simple clear question to RDK but people started quoting me not understanding.

Honestly, I can see it's pointless asking and will have to wait. It's like Westworld in here or wandering into some backwater village.

Please stop replying to me with stuff nothing to do with what I'm asking.

Honestly I could understand why there is only 220 premium cars, why the damage is limited, why some important cars and tracks werent included, why we dont have weather and day/night transition in all tracks...etc etc etc

I could understand all that there is a logic behind those decisions (mainly resources limits, be it technical, human, financial...etc), but what I cannot understand is this : Why in the hell remove great features for the full game that were already implemented in demo versions ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am specifically shocked by the removal of a hood view...thats inexcusable...

Why ?!!!!!!!!! whats the logic behind that ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hood view was already present, why removing it ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can anyone please who have an idea explain this to me ?

Simple. There was never a hood view, some people simply mistook roofcam on cars with low roofs (i.e SuperGT Lexus SC430) for hood view. Just as with many other topics in GT5 (standards, wheel changes, cockpit view etc.) a lot of people will do a lot to convince themselves that what they see isn't true, and that what they believe must be true instead, and thus highly unrealistic expectations come into play.

@FahrerGott. The fact alone that GT5 has proper environment lighting effect's compared to GT4 makes it better. Seriously, how can you compare a game on an older console to GT5? Also, what details are lost exactly? please be specific.

Isn't it a bit harsh assuming anyone who thinks another game is better is a troll? It's all about how they conduct themselves, not their opinion in general.

RDK
sorry guys i had no time for this ... GT is about racing and not burnout game ... i want to cruise around and enjoy the car, track ... not smashing the car into barrier ... i am reall GT fan ... i will try it later ... i am doing now super-licence and its hard because i want to be the first man in finish :)

I like that. Of course everone here wants to see more pics and vids, but hey, wouldn you rather enjoy the game at first and answer questions for the guys here later? I would do so

Have fun with the game, RDK! ;)

I didn't mean to start anything I was just making an observation that some details compared to the GT4 model were lacking. Like visible panel gaps/seperation, Mirrors, Tail and headlight textures and the door handles. Nothing major and didn't want to start an argument.

Im sorry but I'm not buying GT5 because there are 220 super high detailed cars and 800 other cars I can totally ignore. Its not good enough for me.

/sarcasim

Seriously I dont see whet the problem is. Nobody is forcing you to use the standard cars. There are 220 premium cars which is a lot more than most other racing games. If you dont like the standard cars thats good for you but honestly this argument over standard cars is very old at this stage. You dont have to use those cars and you can ignore them.

If you want argue about standard vs premium cars please do it in this thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=128481 I hope im not alone in that I am beyond tired of this silly argument that some of you are arguing that standard cars are horrid and you arent going to use them

You guys do have a right to voice your opinion but I sure as hell dont want to hear your crying anymore..

The argument started because you posted a GT4 car in photo mode and the photo mode cars looked a lot better than they did in the game itself. ome people are comparing in game cars.

I think the panel gaps are still there, they're just smaller now. The GT4 gaps are easy to see because they're so fuzzy but the GT5 ones are a lot more crisp and the lighting effect kinda hides it too. I'm sure if we could get a close enough picture they'd be visible.

I'll definitely still be using the standard cars. Can't wait to take the classic mini and Datsun 240RS for a spin! Never managed to get them in GT4. Oh and the Yellowbird
12 car Mini race on the Eigers going to be great

I'll use the cockpit view on the premiums for fun now and then, but I have a much easier time with the aerial camera. I won't mind using standards in the least, methinks.

Premium / Standard isn't a problem for me.

What I want to (and will) enjoy are the driving physics. And there will be no difference between S and P models. I think I will drive in bumper view most of the time anyway - at least at more competitive modes like online racing. And I'm very sure that I will LOVE it! And you too.

Don't complain too much about this and that and be happy with what you'll get, guys!

Will run it the same way here, except for cruising, which will be in cockpit-mode in Premium-cars. :)
