Or it gets delayed once more, as I was told yesterday in an electronics store. "They" allegedly got an e-mail from Soony stating that the game will release sometime in december...
But I think they had no idea about the new date.

very much so, all played by PD, they get us all excited, we see vids and are like ahhh this is not what we expected, then we find out the last days leading up to the release, it was in fact not the final version, hence everyone goes crazy and buys the game, even though we would anyway, and we get all the things we didn't see in the vids, ie damage, and we all go crazy all over again.

Well, I'm already hoping they have an update or two on launch for any addition material they couldn't fit onto the disc, but I also hope they unlock certain things - like the whole standards rim issue. I'm really hoping there's a lot more than what we've seen and what they've announced.

That looks like the real deal. cars red on the cover, unlike the dark colours on Tekken's cover

That's just because the one in the video is the standard edition, and the tekken's is the collector's edition. It's all the right colors for their respective editions.

I noticed that but i think its just to allow room for the different text of many languages. From what i can tell the screenshots are the same

Well, they're both the SE/CE compared to the Signature... so covers might be different.

I totally agree, people forget polyphony worked 5 and half years on GT5 with damage high on top of their priorities...

I dont believe it is no online for GT4 shock all over gain...not 2 times kazunori please lol

My personal theory is that after all A series races are done it will be unlocked, just like pro online games and quick tune was for prologue.

But quick tune being unlocked at later levels made sense in prologue. Unlocking damage, not so much.

Which is why I think it's going to be like GT4, where mechanical damage is only in the Extreme events, much like tire wear and fuel consumption were in GT4.
