Are you series why would they do that?

*"Serious" is what I believe you meant to say*

Anyway, I agree. Why would they scale back? (Then again, according to the official car list, they scrapped every 08' and 09' NASCAR car we saw in previous trailers). There must be some way to set the damage level. Maybe Tekkon just hasn't found it.

so its official there is no drag racing in gt5 what a disappointment this game is... i was expecting much more of every thing really...

You can probably make one with the Course Maker.

And seriously, stop bitching, all of you. Just ****ing be happy.

Do no one realize how much they have added since Gran Turismo 4?

Sure, they might have removed a couple of things, but why do you have to be so negative? Try and be positive instead and look at all the amazing things they have added.

Well, its been 6 years since GT4. So you would think they would add a lot of stuff to GT5 while keeping everything old.

OK, I have a serious question: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE SO-CALLED OFFICIAL TRACK LIST?!?! I hope that is a joke or incomplete.

I was really hoping for a bigger list of tracks as well. Here are the few I will really miss. Although I am hoping these maybe be added via an update to GT5.

1) Infineon Raceway
2) Motegi Raceway/Twin Ring
3) El Captain
4) Citta di Aria

That's the thing though. What tekken or whatever his name is showed in his NASCAR video was like scaled back considerably from that Best Buy demo. he got head-on crushed by a car and his vehicle barely looked any different.

Since his is the retail version, we all suspect that PD decided to scale back their damage model for release.

it HAS to be a setting in the options... or at the very least incremental dependant on what level you're at.... but i have some serious doubts... I imagine if they have gone this way (toned it down) they may end up sending through a patch after the backlash.... it just seems so odd with so many so called experts who represent PD claiming to know what the consumer wants that they would get some of the basic fundementals so wrong... yes there i go again whinging.... still im sure i will spend endless hours trying to create the ultimate track...

I agreed with you until I saw the official track list. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER

we can make a flat, 1/4 mile drag strip with adequate warm up and cool down areas, a timing and launching tree, two lanes, a slicked-up first 50 feet and side-by-side starts with the "course randomiser"?

Did you actually expect to get that?

And I think people will be able to do very amazing tracks with the Course Maker.

Seems all the videos are in STANDARD Physics.. means very light damage. I bet in PRO Physics, it might be the same visual damage but with one hit or tow, also internal damage.

Didn't PD state ages ago that different cars had different levels of damage? I'm sure they said something about only cars with roll cages having door deformation.

No, that's loosing a door. We've seen the RX-7 with a bashed in door.

While certainly useful in arcade mode, I don't see how you will be able to use it in GT mode.

We have plenty of tracks for GT Mode.

It's disappointing, but 27 tracks isn't bad either.

But, why didn't they do some kind of Standard/Premium thing with tracks, as well?

Maybe I'm missing something, but the Eifel circuit from the course maker video isn't listed as an environment in the official track list. Maybe there are more environments we don't know about?

Where can we set it to "pro" physics. If all of these videos are just on "beginner" physics then this guy is just giving GT a bad name for no reason.
