Here is the real XJ13,you can compare it now with Gt5 one!

For me they are very similar!

The karts don't have gears so downshifts are impossible to hear.;)

Yes, I know, what I meant was that karts in general sound better than the other two cars recorded, which sound especially bad during downshift.

The downshifts are always going to sound "synthetic" unless you get a G25/7 and manually do the clutching yourself, because it's a computer blipping the throttle, same every time, like computers tend to do.

I'm not taking about shifting consistency and perfection.
It's hard to explain it right now (it's a question of sound "fullness" and nuances not correctly recreated), but you will hear what I mean with the Zonda R. It's got an automated manual transmission so there's no "human factor" there.

Of course they're similar. Most cars since GT1 have been "similar" to the real things.
When you start analyzing better the sounds with a more "clinical" ear (and also relatively good audio equipment), you will however hear many differences and realize that there's still a long way to go.
If you can't find any significant difference, well then good for you.

Mmm...are you really sure about this affirmation?I doubt about it!!

Of course there have been improvements at each iteration.
What I meant is that it probably people should be more critical when judging sounds (or maybe use better equipment), as although they are better than before (I do recognize that), they're still lacking in liveliness, detail and ultimately accuracy, although in essence they do in general sound similar to their real life counterparts (at least for what we've heard in the last videos).

Regardng the Jaguar XJ13 video, though, I can't understand how people can't hear differences (in internal views).

Supra is uploading as we speak, ZR1 is next and I'm currently rendering 330 P4 on Monza where Denur as hell of a hard time seeing when to shift (damn you silly tv ad!) :D

So alba do I put the kettle on for a late night coffee waiting for the next video or just goto bed now?
Well I'm going to keep at it until I'm finished I guess. The Supra is almost done so just a bit of processing then I guess you can go to bed :D It's up to you really but since I'm into now might as well finish.

The XJ13 Race Car in GT5 sounds like a mixture between the Cizeta V16T sound and a fully tuned Fiat Panda (in GT4) sound to me.

hmm lots of clipping(distorted sounds)...
Generally a bit better than prologue, but still hard to asses it properly..
Jaguar: you can hear the samples are from that car, but there's also some syntheticness to them, transitions between samples are a bit sketchy and high rpm sample is probably pitch shifted mid sample or something, quite bad...
Karts: ok, I guess, but still a bit thin and synthetic..
Miura: maybe the best out of these, or most discernible at least, good high rpm sample, waiting for a better audio recording to determine the details..
Nascar: well it sounds like a nascar(that's positive;)), but we need to hear it without the distortion.
All in all, not a bad start, but not stellar either.
p.s. Big thx to the guys putting these clips together! :)

Yeah I know it's not stellar and some aren't as good as others but I did what I could with it!

Edit: Damnit, beaten... again :P

Too soon still, needs to be left a bit before the quality improves.

Or maybe this one is worse as Alba alluded to.

Nope! It has improved already from the version I originally clicked on, sweet!

Alba if you dont mind what were the settings you used making these videos? Like standard physics, Race tires, with assists or was it different?

Also a big thanks for these vids.

Pro physics, everything off and hard tires I believe, tires is the only thing we played around with, at least I did. I think Mark used hard tires for all the videos we did.

While we wait, this is a real life Corvette ZR1 for comparison:
