Take it or leave, no sweat. I've known of Maxpowers posts for over 2 years from the Blu-ray side of things.

Search long enough and you'll find everything but his name and official position, dating back years.

All you need to know is GT5 is officially scheduled for an '09 release for Japan and SCEE, things could change, but this is business, Sony are in the financial ****, PD will be pushed very hard to deliver, jobs, departments and market share are at stake.

If sony is smart, they would push PD beyond hard to get this title out of their studio(s) allready.. this is very true, however.. and don't pin me down on this one, i do remember reading that sony has no interest in pushing PD and just want PD to do what they do best and leave them alone.

It's crazy.. such a long wait for one racing game.. one, racing, game.
By the time GT5 comes out codemasters will have released DIRT, GRID and F109 in the same, if not shorter, development time schedule.
PGR5 will probably be released earlier, Race Pro was done in a year, forza 3 will see the light of day before GT5 will, etc.

I fully respect PD for what they do.. but there is such a thing as being too anal and wanting everything too perfect.
I feel the same way about GT4... to me, that is too perfect, too clean, overdeveloped and not worth the long wait.

Its just one racing game that will give you 1000's of hours of fun until GT6.

Race pro is just a port of one of Simbin's PC games so it was easy to make and it has nothing new that hasnt been done before.

No one wants a game full of bugs and only a few tracks like forza 2, let PD take their time and make the best racing game to date.

I agree with Turbo on this one. But if PD left it too late until they released it, in their quest for making a great game, people will simply forget or loose interest.

The difference today is so long as the fundamental game mechanics and features are in place, any number of cars and tracks can be released at a later date as downloads.

I don't think it's a coincidence Sony/PD have been silent, with GT5P development seemingly long over.

Sony and the Playstation brand aren't in danger of going out of business, despite what you may have read, but jobs are certainly at stake, and departments shaken up.

The Sony board won't want to here about artists perfecting their work while the competion produce comparable products, 2009 is the year the PS3 delivers and becomes a genuine success on the games front, or drops into a distant third place.

truth.com!!!!!!

im buying a used 360box that way i can be tied over until next year or two when GT5 comes out......GT series always looks awesome....but come on? How long has this ONE GAME taken?:indiff:

I'd say microsoft are much more clever than sony when it comes to video games. I just want p'd to not spend all they time and graphics and more on features.

No, it's not a port. Simbin made a brand new engine and Race Pro will be the first game to use it. Content-wise I think it's just GTR Evolution with a different engine. I just hope it uses the same open standards for tracks and cars so the modding community can create new stuff to add.

And really, what will GT5 offer that hasn't been done before? (besides extremely good looking cars) Don't get me wrong, I really, really, really like GT5P, but so far, I haven't seen anything besides the great looking graphics that hasn't been done before (and sometimes better too). That said, I'll rush to the store to buy GT5 the day it is out, whenever that may be. ;) And I really hope that Simbin's 'secret' PS3 project makes it out this year too.

Well as long as it comes out before Xbox has his new console with probably better graphics then the PS3, i 'm fine

big thx to NLxAROSA and your Dutch Customs Tuning Shop for you great setups, your my favourite tuner

And I really hope that Simbin's 'secret' PS3 project makes it out this year too.
OT but which secret PS3 project is that? Please enlighten us!

Maybe you mean project Falcon from Blimey!games?

:)

Thanks! Sounds interesting.

GT5, Project Ferrari/Falcon (if Blimey!games is still working on these titles) and now this. 👍

I heard many months ago " it will be on the shopa at august 2008" . but we passed august 2008 :) and we are still waiting for Gran Turismo 5 real game (not prologue) . PS3.

Link to article (Dutch)Translated: Magnus Ling, VP of Simbin, told reporters they are working on a PS3 exclusive title. It will definitely not be a Race Pro port.

Wow thx for that, i need to contact Simbin again, maybe i can get infos, last time i got a very nice reply from Mr. Gram-Hansen (hope the name is right) who said theyre missing the manpower for multplatform developement.

Granted, the report is from August 2008, so they may have dropped it since then, since we haven't heard anything from it since. I just hope they'll announce something soon after the release of Race Pro. They did say their new Lizard engine is multiplatform though.

And of course I still keep hoping PD will surprise us and announce GT5 for April 2009. :P

i just cant wait till its here

👍👍

me too, i'm really crazy to waiting it...

however 2009 will be a release in japan, sure at 100%...

and will be the most incredible and definitive game of the world... (if its true that they put online shop with over 700 cars and 4500 parts and items to buy)... with such a number of options i think that everybody will customize cars lke no other game exist..

Although it may seem ridiculous how long it is taking, i'm sure they have reasons.

I will be happy as long as it is worth the wait, but saying that, even if it isn't worth the wait what can i do about it?!

that's the problem, it's taking soo long that people think they will have eveything in this game: damage, weather, day & night cycle, all the best modern and past cars, and private rooms. And i think there will be a lot of dissapointment when it comes out, cause i really don't think we'll have all of this.
my prediction: we'll see a lot of threads complaining about what's missing.

I really hope i'm wrong.

27 november will be the release date for our japanese friends right?

And i saw a Koenigsegg CCX on there with a youtube banner at the bottom, is that car from GT5, its hard for me to tell, cause i'm using a very dark and bad screen :S

Chris

"for the first time the game will also feature damage" ?? is it reeeally true? i have a hard time to believe that this is real.. tho when i think of it the time they're spending on the game its not impossible :D

*edit: ignore me -.- other sites also says: The cars will take and show damage. How come i havent heard of it before.. :S

The rumours of a release this year are gaining momentum. This is taken from a the link below.

"Really? Yes, really. Kazunori Yamauchi is coy, but Sony suits in the US and Europe are confident we'll see this at the end of the year. And say what you like about AI or damage - as a tech demo, the latest Gran Turismo is always hair-raising, eye-disbelieving stuff, and as a fastidiously detailed love letter to the automobile, GT5 will surely be peerless. As for the PSP version? Who knows."

I don't think we will all mind waiting until Christmas 09 for GT5 as long as they (PD) keep us busy in the meantime with updates.

A new track is desperatly needed to inject some more hours of gameplay into this game.

It would be good if PD could release a new car as it gets launched in the relevant country, for instance this year here in the UK we have the following cars being made available to the public - it would be nice if PD matched this schedule and released the car in the game at the same time.

Here are some highlights of car releases for this year here in the UK...

Feb 09 Posrche Cayman & Boxster facelift

March 09 Ford Focus RS & Jaguar XFR (The Nissan GTR is also offiacially available from Nissan Dealers instead of import only)

May 09 BMW Z4 & Nissan 370Z

June 09 MB E-Class, Mini Clubman JCW

July 09 Audi TTRS Noble M600

Aug 09 Aston Martin one-77

Sept 09 Porsche Panamera, Vauxhall Insignia VXR & Golf GTI

Oct 09 Audi R8 V10, R8 Spyder, Renualt Megane Sport

Nov 09 Pagani C9

Dec 09 Aston martine Rapide, Audi RS5

That line up above and say about 4 new tracks would certainly keep me happy until Christmas (And I'm officlally the biggest moaner on here).

But you know what there somthing inside of me thinking that we will see GT5 much sooner then Christmas because they (PD) must be itching for us to see the finished product especially if its been in development now for somthing like 4 years!!!

Can you imagine if the game got released on the day you were due to go on holiday?

Itching to get back home or what?
