Gran Turismo 5 Release Date?

I don't know why we feel the need to speculate the release date, when we have technically already been told officially, albeit a while back, but this still seems to be true and fitting with the rumours recently.

''For next year, the chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment for southern Europe said that they are developing a new game thriller, in which the player may be designing their own history, and the new version of Gran Turismo, which will arrive at Christmas''

There you go, an official stated fact. I would bet my left hand that GT will be released during the christmas period.
 
It says "Announced between Christmas and the day of the year by Amazon"

I Thought Amazon were full of it? I'm still hoping for a Christmas release. Seems almost certain.

What if there is a warehouse somewhere in the world right now which has thousand upon thousand of rows of the completed GT5 ready to ship?

If there was it must be very secure and very few people must know about it. Humans aint that good at keeping secrets.

Or you could be both smoking dope. They won't have mastered the game without telling of a release date. Bare minimum of a month to go from mastering a disc (which, could take a while with the amount of the discs that need to be burned by Sony), to being ready to sell/dispatch it.

KY - The game is ready to release at any time, we are just doing finishing touches, is just a bit of PR to keep up the hype. They'll definitely be testing some early builds though.

Sorry, I wasn't referring to you specifically. It's just that so many people have come and gone, each with a different release date. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that GT5 is coming this year. But even if it is, there is still a strong possibility it will be delayed. I just wouldn't count on anything because we don't know for sure.
 
Maybe Sony wants to BLAST this holiday out of the water with a PS3 Slim and the release of GT5 to really stir up sales. They might do it.

Guys, just look at past and you will have answer. Nothing different this time, its all the same every time.

Realease dates for GTseries:

GT1: December 23, 1997
GT2: December 11, 1999
GT3: April 28, 2001
GT4P: December 4, 2003
GT4: January 10, 2005
GT5P: December 13, 2007


With a small exception like GT3 (probably because of some unwanted delays), every GT game was released in ~december in Japan, and on first months of new year in EU/US.

It will be the same this year. Thats it.

You could tell 3-4 years ago that GT5 would be released either 2008 december or 2009 december. Because 2008 was not to happen, now we have this year, before christmas. Simple.

Its not about me, its about you all who can't stop and everyday write and write and write about when it will be released. Relax, it will be at the end of this year (November, December, who cares?, maybe even next year January).

Just get off your high horse and let people speculate because there isn't REALLY all that much more to do. I'd prefer to have people speculating and enjoying themselves than a dead forum.

I've had enough of all these delays between Japanese/eu/us. After all these years the least they could do is give it a worldwide release date. I don't want to wait till march 2010 just because I'm european :irked:🤬:banghead:
 
Have you not ready the latest? "semi-official" hint at a Q4 2009 release...from a conference in Germany. Despite there still being nothing official, it WILL see a worldwide release in 2010 - not necessarily in the same week/month.

Know what you mean, really annoys me when the UK release lags behind the US given its practically the same!
(I can kind of understand why the Japan release came first in the old days (given it would need to be translated into English) and can see why the EU may lag behind UK/US given the need to translate further into French, German etc.)

Still hopefully it will be a world wide release (and if not hopefully it will only be a day or twos difference.)

One thing that is promising is that the flyer promoting the 4th quarter release date was in German, so that certainly hints towards a European release at that time. (You'd hardly go and hand out a load of flyers advertising the US/Japanese release date when its coming out much later in Europe...
