id like to see a difficulty option where you got the power to change the difficulty from ezy to hard and also add a cr bonus as well thatll make the A.I faster and more competitive espically in those endurance races after 20 laps of those races that your pretty much racing by yourself and it gets boring

"Can I get a new fastest lap?"

I have to say, the title had me a lot more excited than the actual content. I'm still not too convinced about the AI although it's good to hear it's at least better.

Yeah that's one thing I really hope they fixed. I hate seeing a 512BB fighting a 430 Scuderia for a spot, it makes no sense haha.

I suppose it would if the BB was tuned.. as you can do that in the GT series, I know it was in single race mode, but maybe they were favorited modified cars?

Haven't people hacked GT games in the past and when they've found the specs of AI cars I'm GT Mode they are almost always tuned in some way. That's why you get some odd matches in some races.

I was pleased to read in Jordan's latest update that the AI looks to be improved somewhat - doesn't sound like a giant leap forward, but it's a step in the right direction 👍

Reading Jordan's article this morning got me hyped. Who knows I might have to buy GT6 new ;), but let's wait for the reviews..
jajajaja you still thinking about that? Let's hope that those loading times get reduced and we can enjoy a good game, my hype went down when I read that part :S

Let's face it, it had nowhere to go but up...Jordans article didn't sound very good to me..Sounded like a minor improvement at best. GT's AI needs to be totally rebuilt. Welcome to 1998, put in casual, normal and Sim or advanced difficulty levels. Other games have had this forever. This would please BOTH groups.. MLB the show is a HARD sim, very hard to hit and you need to know baseball. But they added easy and beginner modes and a plethora of options for everyone while still maintaining it's hard sim nature.....GT is so far behind when it comes to Real atmosphere, racing and modertn design in this area.

I hooked up my PC to my TV yesterday, played some RACE 07...Ai is in another league then GT, racing was tough and fun, and the AI even got aggressive and made mistakes and wiped out..This game is very old..............

So is ToCA Touring Cars. That AI was fast at times and running bumper to bumper. You could follow nose to tail and know the AI were going to brake late or carry speed through the corner. If you lift off, their gone.

The same AI that loved to crash... no thank you..

I hope these new A.I kids in GT6 can resist my dark powers. So far the only video game A.I able to defeat me was in Midnight Club II about 7 years ago and Motostorm's even worse than GT rubberbandtacular A.I that cheats physics even more than the game already does. Racing game A.I has never been the smartest anyway.

A-spec racing = Free run driving with a few background cars thrown in. Online = Serious Business

The SLS AMG GT3 saids hi from the vid leading the pack. ;)

Also, don't forget dem difficulty settings.

And what about five laps later? I liked the AI in Shift 2. Never had a racing game where I had to much trouble with the AI but I never remembered lapping cars in Shift 2. Getting in to the front was easy if you don't touch (magnet cars ugh) the other cars but I always had to stay on my toes because a mistake ment a restart most of the time. It actually felt like racing.

Passing almost the entire field in the first lap, GT5 deja vu anyone? :boggled:

Ola, there is a lot of win in this video. Please notice he actually loses a position to the prototype car and also the AI drivers are driving off line to race with him and the other bots. This is actually a very encouraging video. If you race in the real world there will always be novices in the rear or those with lower skill sets. It's usually the fact that the top 5 driver are the fast ones and there will be back markers to pass in the real world, with them racing as hard as they can... albeit 5 sec off the pace.

Huh? But did you also see how the LM car fought back his position? How the Fairlady nearly got him as well?
Some cars even tried to block the inner driving line. (What's the name of this line? Please tell me.)

I don't know if it's the low difficulty, a dynamic AI speed (slow at the beginning, then adjusting) the group method (a few very slow cars, some decent cars, some quick cars, a few fast cars) or if he used an overpowered car most likely by using better tyres.

What the video shows would've never happened in GT5.

@ generalsavant, that he's overtaken by the R8 LMP1 is only normal seeing that it is like what? 10 seconds faster a lap?
@ dr_slump, you do have a point with that moment when the Z holds it's line going into the left hander, before it would have surrendered and let loose of the gas when you would have been aside it.

Anyhow i do find the bots pretty slow still, so let's hope that this was indeed the easy setting otherwise we will have a lot of lonely laps at the front again...

Also the chase the rabbit formula is here to stay it seems, which sucks.

good AI = Rubber banding. 95% of you guys don't know how racing games work and oppose it so stop complaining. And all other games that don't use it use power multipliers..

20 laps? Try the first lap.

To be fair though, I was racing hard for the lead for the first 4 or 5 laps in the Le Mans 24 hour race, which was quite fun. Even when I passed the lead car (Bentley Speed 8), he would stick with me and even pass me back once or twice on the straights. Wasn't very easy to lose him, but once I got in some clear air (lap 5-10) I started to gain some more time but only a second or two, maybe three sometimes, per lap. I did have to pit before him, which made things more interesting, and a Pescarolo somehow snuck up the field and passed him which had me a little worried since his pace was quite good. Anyway, both these cars were driving at a fairly good pace that I was noticing I wasn't gaining much per lap, although they weren't really catching up, so I didn't really have anything to worry about once I was in clear air in the first place. Was somewhat interesting for the first while, but I ended up lapping them both about 10 times by the end of the race.

I'd enjoy more experiences like that but of course lasting a little longer. But for the shorter races it would be great to really have to earn the victories -- and I do not mean by catching the rabbit who starts 30 seconds ahead of you. I'm just so sick of that in the season events. Make the AI good enough that it's a real challenge and don't have the AI cars slam on the brakes when you show them a wheel.
