in the latest video the vw at ascari that seems like a fairly good felid of cars and the vw had a pretty good battle with the AIs red s2000
Quite impressed here also to be honest; we sure that wasn't a replay of a head to head with another human?
Anyway; seems like there is still hope, so i shall refrigerate my ranting until after release! :dopey:

That video could be misleading because FTO is faster than Scirocco, therefore AI over agressive because driving a faster car. We need human vs. AI in similar spec cars to actually see AI's pace.

FTO is faster overall, but you don't know if PD nerfed the car to fit into the specs of the race. In the bigger picture though is the car's behaviour as evidenced by this I borrowed from the News thread:

Normally wouldn't the FTO have thrown out an anchor the second it was passed? To hold position inside and outside through two corners and complete the pass seems like a move in the right direction to me.

This is true.Either way its leaps and bounds over anything I've seen in GT5, and I race the arta garaiya and cusco dunlop subaru against gt500 and LM class cars a lot but they have never taken a corner with me or shot through gaps like what we just saw in that video. They usually just past me on straights.

Lets get one thing clear. We aren't saying the AI is perfect but it is tons better than GT5 AI.... Like Jordan said in his Hand On Impressions last week. Now all we need is a catch-up feature and I will be satisfied with the AI.

Usually they don't nerf AI cars, I've never found detuned AI cars in GT5.
Dude, don't underestimate the founder of this website man.
I don't.

Because SGT500 cars are faster on straight, SGT300 have quite a lot of downforce so they could keep up on turns.

 Indeed it would have, every single time you passed a car in GT5 it let go of the gas and held out disappearing in your mirrors...
Like Dmarc says they would only have the balls (tiny little cohones) to actually risk a pass on a straight, and would always chicken out going for the gap in a corner, even if you left the door wide open.

We can go on talking forever. I think we need a similar spec video possibily a SuperGT field, human vs. AI, no tuning no detuning, default setting vs best AI possible in GT6. Then we will see what this AI is about.
Same with the FTO and scirocco correct?
Not exactly, Scirocco has some downforce but FTO is lighter so AI can attack even on turns as he did, oh and Scirocco is an FF car. Not the best choice for GT racing.

In GT mode yes, in Arcade mode no.

Jordan bumps the AI and it didnt give up. The FTO went on the grass and didnt slow down or spin out. Like others pointed out even though the FTO is awd and faster, the previous AI would have given up ages ago.

Does Jordan still have access to the internet I wonder? He would be best placed to comment on that miracle we just witnessed...

So Jordan; let us know please.

Doesn't it depend on the AI stats? I could swear that some AI drivers are less inclined to come to a standstill than others in GT5. Anyway it was a nice little battle to see. But as seen in the Bathurst video, the AI will still come to a near stop on corner exits, which shouldn't be happening at all.

That video gave me hope for the AI. Hopefully the career AI takes cues from GT5's Arcade AI and then expands on them further.

Another thing I noticed was the vastly different specs in the types of cars that were racing. It seemed to be a mix of cars that were around 500pp (Lotus, BMW Touring Car, VW Scirocco) and then 580+pp cars (Super GT Stuff).

Not going to read much more into that.

If the FTO was another VW I would be in my knees praising PD.

It's a good step but it's a fight between 2 very different cars...
