Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Ok, but what about all of the duplicates? I don't think PD will be so daft this time, as they aren't so rushed and over-ambitious. And I don't think they'll do standards again, and from what I've heard, there haven't been any standard cars ACTUALLY SHOWN in the videos, so how do you know ere will be any...?

There was two years of hype for GT5 before there was anything actually shown for Standard Cars.

I'd guess there might be a GT7 Prologue or something on PS4 pretty early on?

EDIT: Video analysis of the trailer might give us more insight into standards.

I hope my faves from GT5 are back (LM's, TCs, RM's,)
I acn't wait till they announce the new exclusives. get ready to codeswap like crazy this time!

Yes, but you won't get much better than that. A forum poster complaining about "technical standpoint" on Polyphony Digital is like a physics undergrad saying Einstein isn't impressive.

And yet you just did similar in your defense

The fact remains that GT5 has 80% cars ported from previous games and about 1/2 the tracks. It's not even just a visual quality disparity thing either. There's a reason why PD needed to patch GT5 some 25+ times, initially to include the OCD as a perfect example. GT6 will have standard cars but I doubt it will be broken as GT5 was at launch. They've had 3 years to really work some magic and I fully expect GT6 to be soooooo much better than GT5 was.

Everything sounded great except the extremely weak amount of new cars and tracks (they also avoided saying what quality the returning cars will be in), no mention of a livery editor and sigh, Sunday Cup and Clubman cup again. Looks like no revolution in GT Mode.

But yeah, everything else APPEARS to be great but they're just words at the moment, they did pretty well with words before GT5.

I can't see a lot of the pictures or ANY of the videos as I'm at school, but I'm questioning logic, here -

People are saying that because There's 1200 cars ("only" 60 more than GT5), there won't be much new content.

I haven't seen the videos myself, so I may be wrong. But PD is smart - I don't think they'll include PS2-gen content at this point.

I'd bet that there's AT LEAST 200-ish new cars, likely more.

The press release clearly states that:

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo®5, which has sold over 10m copies since launching in 2010, will be retained in GT6.

So yes, not many new cars at all. 7 new tracks is also not great, we can already guess/know four of them:

Silverstone
Willow Springs
Seattle
Apricot Hill

Seems like there were no Standards in the trailer apart from a few from the GT5 footage - e.g. the Pesceralo Judd.

just found this from Tesla facebook page, looks like it's from GT6 (i think)

Can someone structure the info incl screens and vids in a single thread or something? It's start to become a bit messy in the gt6 section.

Damn...i got excited......

You never know, they might have skipped a few duplicates.

There is still E3.

There sure is, but I'm afraid PD is relasing GT6 PS3-only and takes its time to produce GT7 on PS4, which probably means 2015 or later.

What I'm saying is, that as a Sony inhouse studio they could've had a headstart with PS4 development and should have used every minute to produce a nextgen GT instead of polishing the engine for PS3.
I guess it makes sense from a business porint of view, since the PS3 install base is huge. Also most people seem to be happy with this late PS3 release.

As an early adopter, who will own the PS4 as soon as it launches, I'm not so happy about this decision. Will I buy and play it? Sure. But at the moment, I'm not excited at all.
Especially if, as rumours suggest, a new Forza will be released together with or shortly after the 360 successor.

Also there will be Race Club for PS4, and other unknown racing games for the generation of consoles.
Maybe we'll get a PS4 port. Yeah, maybe we'll have more information after E3.
