Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Well it was confirmed that Adaptive Tessellation is in. This still takes a lot of work for each car so I think quite a few dupes might have been dropped.

Once again, the wording could not be clearer.

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo®5

All of them. All. If they drop a few dupes, that isn't all of them.

100% excitement turned into 75% because there is no information about GT Vita release :( But still, I am excited about GT6 and cant wait to play this game.

You know what guys. I think PD have done a great job in making GT6. I mean. Look at all those features, all of those feature are in the PS3, not even need the PS4 to obtain them. I can't tell you how blown my mind is, because I'm seriously proud of PD of how hard they've worked on GT6 for 2 and a half years now?

Honestly. I believe PD deserve our thanks for making our dreams come true in this fantastic franchise, even listening to us in a way. I'm really proud of them. :)

A toast, to the 15th anniversay of Gran Turismo. :D Cheers everyone.

So you've played the finished version then? Remember how many features got announced for GT5 that never made it into the game? You're riding the disappointment train all over again. If you want to go there, be my guest, but don't expect others to do the same this time.

And yet you just did similar in your defense

The fact remains that GT5 has 80% cars ported from previous games and about 1/2 the tracks. It's not even just a visual quality disparity thing either. There's a reason why PD needed to patch GT5 some 25+ times, initially to include the OCD as a perfect example. GT6 will have standard cars but I doubt it will be broken as GT5 was at launch. They've had 3 years to really work some magic and I fully expect GT6 to be soooooo much better than GT5 was.

I don't know if you were the original poster, but it's about the "technical" aspects of the game. The number of cars or tracks don't mean squat. Now you're saying "80% of cars is just ported" how is that supposed to be "technical" in terms of achieving performance and graphics?

Yes, 800 cars were ported but guess what, there's more to a game than the number of cars. You're saying the 800 cars make up the majority of the game? Stop being foolish. Did they also port the lighting engine? Physics? Sounds? I.e. everything else? You are zeroing in on the number of standard cars yet the game consists more than standard cars.

I know right? He's just scared from the greatness that Gran Turismo 6, that's all. ;)

I can tell that you've never played any other racing games. What GT6 is doing isn't all that impressive. Other games have had many of these same features for a long time now.

7 New?

From speculation and confirmation:

SSR11
Seattle
Apricot
Silverstone
Bathrust
WillowSprings
El Capitan

That's already 7.

Could someone please tell me what Adaptive Tessellation is? I missed the memo.

In layman's terms, it would be the addition or subtraction of polygons based on the circumstances and is most likely a way to avoid having to create/store varying LOD's (Level Of Detail) for all the cars in the game.

One of them is Nuerburgring, one is Tokyo R246.

This is my tentative track list:

No Bathurst then

For me, GT6 absolutely under no circumstances can use standard cars. I just won't even acknowledge its existence if it does. It also has to have real car sounds. Every other racing game gets this right, so no more excuses for Polyphony Digital. They absolutely have to up their game for this sequel. They cannot get by anymore thinking that cutting corners is acceptable. It's not anymore.

It's not even that. 1200 cars, with a deliberate attempt to improve on GT5's car list in terms of variety (lets say with at least a hundred of the needless cars removed, so 300 new models), would have been fantastic; Standards or no.

1200 cars, carrying over the entirety of extremely duplicate-heavy car list from GT5, isn't. It's a number with an asterisk, just like it was in GT5. Then you have Standards on top of that.

Under 100 new cars in 3 years.

The vast majority must be premium so to speak, especially considering that 'nearly every car has extensive modifications.'

Hmmmm 10 minutes ago you were hesitant to believe anything PD says.....

Was I? All I said was that they haven't revealed everything and have been coy with some details in the press release. It doesn't say in what capacity the cars and tracks will be returning (Standard, with weather/night etc?) but that line in general however cannot be interpreted in any other way, it's a clear statement.

Totally agree with this.

Where are you getting Apricot Hill and El Capitan from?

7 tracks is pretty poor tbh, unless the dlc is cheap and regular.

Also applies to bringing lesser models up to a smoother finish (standards)

Like I said a lot of stuff they said sounded very promising but they're just words and a lot of what they said/showed didn't sound so good. It would be foolish to judge just yet how hard they've worked at this point when all we have is a well worded press release and a few other tidbits.

Less than 100 new cars and 7 tracks is very disappointing, especially if they've instead spent their time re modelling all of the GT5 cars rather than focusing on new models.

Also as I say, my smile turned to a frown when I saw 'Sunday Cup' again on one of the photos.

I wonder how many events will be there. 0.0 Oh and don't forget Simon, there'll be track DLC every month too. :)
