Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

I love the ambient music playing in the the pre-race menu, hopefully it will make it to the actual game. Much better than those children singing and that upbeat tune in GT5.

Ok. Shadows are a big improvement, and suspension work looks promising. But the sound... the sound.... I hope PD works hard in next 6 months!

Wow. That was an emotional journey. 👍
Not sure if true or they're just trying to get there first?

Haha! It's 1979 all over again..

Also as I say, my smile turned to a frown when I saw 'Sunday Cup' again on one of the photos.
Good to have you back Simon, told you this was the greener side of the fence. But where's your cheery disposition? I think you left it on the other side. :dopey:

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment guys. I hope I'm wrong though.

I'm not expecting the greatest game ever, but I'm expecting a Gran Turismo game that's going to bring me fun and enjoyment, so I'm not setting myself up for disappointment. Plus, I wanna drive that X-BOW.

I'm downloading the video to my phone now. Thank you Jordan for everything you've done!

Jordan, what sort of setup did they have on the KTM? Do you think it was it a default tune or did they actually tune it?

Just downloaded the vid onto my computer, I just keep scrubbing through watching that suspension move in slow motion!:)

Well, I had 3 hours of sleep last night. My eyeballs are burning. Great day GT fans!!! Can't wait for that Q&A with Kaz.

Thank you for the video Jordan! That suspension looks fantastic comparing it to the big brothers on PC (iRacing and rFactor 2).

A little bit sad for the engine sounds but oh well...GT7 hopefully will get rid of that digitalized sounds for once. (vacuum cleaner alike)

At least we have the graphics and now the physics. Step by step. ;)

Good night everyone.

Man I hope in GT7 they totally revamp the sounds, not just the engine. After listening to the tire screech of the real KTM it just made the one in GT sound sterile.Other than that it looks good.

Video looks great - thanks Jordan. 👍 Really looking forward to that GT Academy Demo now - assuming it's not restricted to only the countries that are participating (like last time) - I'll be real mad if I can't download the demo again on account of where I live. :grumpy:

AFAIK they use a highly customized version of Maya. Most of the advantages in using this program is in the custom tools/plugin they've internally developed for their needs over time.

If you're just starting out with 3D modeling try using Blender, which is as powerful, in addition of being free, multiplatform and open source!

Ok, cool. I took a class this year in Level design and that was one of the programs we were using so when I saw some of the pictures from the presentation, the program they were taken in looked familiar.

Funny enough, I got Maya for free (along with 3DS Max) Via a Student license :D

I'll definitely try Blender though.

Just a demo, don't forget. The sounds maybe placeholders. :sly:

Funny enough you can find this exact statement regarding GT5:Prologue and GT5, let's face it PD dropped the ball AGAIN and apparently have no desire to bring their sound design up to modern standards.

Oh just stop already. :grumpy: I'm going to believe the sounds are just in the demo version, while the good ones are in development. Haven't you heard of *alpha-builds*? :dunce:

Oh ok, lets pray then :scared:

Dat suspension though..

Hehe, alright. :D And agreed, that suspension.

I like the look of the new menus. Everything looks good really. Sound is still pretty bad though. I don't know how the KTM sounds in real life but I'm sure it's not like that. Still no drivetrain simulation either. A shame.
There's a vid eight posts above yours that shows it...not that different really and plenty of tyre squeal - that should irk a few more people :sly:

Let's wait till Jordan publishes his Q&A before we jump to assumptions.

You never know.

Why would they use placeholder sound in a car they clearly recently scanned and modeled? If they had access to the car they also had the ability to properly record it, instead they went back to the same old monotonous drone that every car in GT5 has. You're going to be quite surprised come release day if you really think they've changed their ways
