Gran Turismo 7 Bug Reports

On the s2000 ap1, the rev counter in the car dashboard doesn't match the UI rev counter on screen.
Another user reported the same issue for CLK-LM
Interesting. The 240z does the same, I'd not noticed any other cars with bad dashboard tachos.

Some people play with HUD off for immersion. And you don't get an actual tach in the HUD unless you play in bumper cam.
After a few laps to get familiar with a car a tach isn't even needed, you can drive purely by sound. I can assure you that real life racers are not watching the tachs in their cars.

I don't know if it happens to be my external HDD or the game itself, but since the 1.31 update I've had the game freeze a few times at the warm up, before the race. Only way to get around this is to close the game, and restart

I imagine the shift lights on their dash is just for giggles then.

And do race car engineers also install incorrect tachs on purpose because drivers aren't supposed to look at them?

Every time I have adjusted the distance between the cars (so they are farther apart) the settings jumps to the closest distance and cannot be changed... when you start the race the cars are right on top of each other.
I don't even see the option to adjust the rolling start distance in online lobbies anymore.
Oh okay, and sorry for the late reply, I don’t race in the online lobbies so wouldn’t know anything about that. I was just talking about the races that I set up for myself on the individual tracks in the game itself but not the lobbies 🤔🙄😑

So have you never driven a road car with a manual for any amount of time? If you have did you need to glare at the tach to know when to shift? I'm sure that most race drivers feel the same as I do, if you need to use the tach to shift you probably shouldn't be in the car. I speak from experience behind the wheel of racecars and talk to racers virtually everyday. I am simply sharing my real world experience on the subject.

In Sardegna Circuit Experience, the demonstration/ghost begins the race at 173mph, but you can only begin the Circuit Experience at about 153mph.

Does any of that excuse a faulty tach?

In fact, they do have them.
A speedometer is less important and may just be left out.

Interview of "Der Spiegel" with Walther Röhrl

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Was bedeutet perfektes Autofahren?

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What does perfect driving mean?

Röhrl: When I'm in the car, the car has to become a part of me, it has to be a part of my body that I alone can determine what it does. That's what fascinates me. And then when I look at the speedometer, I'm rather shocked by the speed. There is no speedometer in a racing car, you just drive there. And after the training you tell the engineer at what revolutions you drove through the dip, and he then says, 'that was 294 km/h'. And then I think, 'for God's sake that's fast'.

I think you're confusing a speedometer for an RPM tach.

In any case, yes, a tach or speedo might not always be installed on every car ever made. But when it is installed, the engineers usually try and make sure it's reading the correct value...

In the case of GT7, this would be a bug. Bugs should be fixed.

There have been many tests on "real world" tachs, guess what, many are not all that accurate, could it be possible PD is simply putting "real life" situations in the game, maybe, maybe not.

Kinda surprised the replay/spectator camera and track debris are is still bugged :(
Normally a hotfix is pushed around ~2 weeks after an update.

I bought my my Pontiac Firebird with tyre stickers however they don’t appear in races, in gt auto, or on showcase this big needs to be fixed and also there should be tyre stickers in road cars too even if it’s GT tyre stickers

Anyone run into a bug where the game disables HDR when you turn on 120 Hz with VRR? Have to restart to get HDR back

isn't that because when you turn 120hz with VRR it goes into 8bit ? at least on my LG C2 it almost get rid of the HDR because of that

I think VRR can host HDR just at a lower color gamut. If I restart the game it shows 120+VRR+ HDR. It doesn't when I switch from the game. Think it's a bug

I think that's working as intended.

Custom parts like wheels and aero are saved in styles not in liveries.

The liveries only save what you can do inside the Livery Editor (paint, decals, etc.). The thumbnails are generated based on the car used to save that livery.

This is so that liveries can apply independently of the parts installed on the car. Which is a good thing.

You're right, my bad

Race photo mode bug is back for me :(

It's not happened for a while, but my PS4 crashed after trying to take a Race photo.

There was some tyre spray from a damp track, and I think the PS4 struggles with smoke, rain etc., but I did think that this bug had been resolved by now - alas not.

Mirrors on new Merc are bugged. They stay orange all the time.
I was about to say the same:

And now I can't unsee it, so it will stay in the garage, hope PD will fix it as fast as possible.

So it's not really a game bug but I didn't want to start a new topic over something so small but recently when I was doing my monthly PS5 disc space maintenance I discovered this in my console storage

Not a problem as such since it's not using up any space but it won't delete as even if I delete that file it adds it back again, the only thing I can think that might be causing it was I did watch a share play of a friend on PS4 so somehow it's got confused as my PS4 copy of the game is stored on my external HD for all my PS4 software.

Anyone else had this occur or knows how I can possibly remove it from the list?

Have you tried this?
How to start your console in Safe Mode
  1. Turn off your console by holding the power button for three seconds.
The power indicator blinks for a few moments before turning off.
  2. Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again.
Release it after you hear the second beep — one beep sounds when you first press, and another seven seconds later.
  3. Connect the controller with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.
  1. Clear Cache and Rebuild Database
Select Clear System Software Cache if you’re experiencing system feature issues or performance drops.
Select Rebuild Database to scan the drive and create a new database of all content on the system. This option is useful if you’re experiencing system feature issues or a game icon remains on Home after it has been deleted.

Sorry if this has already been posted but at what point in time did we lose the sound for the demos? And just in case anybody was wondering, I’m talking about the demos that play when you don’t do anything on the Home Screen for awhile like that one with the car that drifts around Tsukuba. They still play but they have no sound anymore but I know that once upon a time they did 🤔😲😂🤣
