6 laps, and wait for 5 min, why? Like you get 7 laps done easily in less than 30 min, unless it rains a lot. Usually I have to wait around 20-60 sec, depending on the car I use.
Why not? Let it sit, go get a drink, respond to a text message….or mess with the AI and get them all backed up at the last chicane before the line because they’ll just keep ramming you instead of going around.
I’m not saying this is the best thing to do, or it makes you superior somehow, but after running 6 (often) boring laps for 25 mins, why not?

What's the cheapest engine swap we have so far? My guess would be that K20 from the newer Civic Type R, closely followed by the SR20DET. Either way, it would seem best if we could win a given engine through a ticket and save at least 100k credits.

Coyote from the '15 Mustang maybe?

How about the Honda S800?

No way. The engine from Honda 2&4 costs 600k, since the donor isn’t cheap (1M in Brand Central).

I remember the SRT Hellcat engine is relatively cheap (but right now I can’t tell exactly how much is it).

I've had some fun since the update allowed you to purchase engines swaps, although I've only purchased one engine (the Audi 5-pot for the Golf) it spurred me onto making use of all the engines I won during the ticket bonanza.

I've been downtuning them to make more sense in a road car so the Golf is at 300hp, the E46 M3 gains the Z4 V8 tuned to a similar level as a 540i from the mid 2000s and the GTR V6 in a Delta with the power turned down to the sort of level you'd get in a late 80s Maser BiTurbo. This gives me the benefit of the noise without the swap being ridiculous.

Whilst I've not carried out all the swaps yet, just waiting on the RX7 GTX FC & R33 GTR Vspec to hit the UCD, then I'll at least own all the current swap ready cars.

I wonder if going forward they'll announce new swaps in the patch notes now the ability to buy them is in the game.

Would be nice to be able to sell turning parts/engines that we already have stored up that won't be of any use... especially the stockpile of bonanza'd engines.

I'm still waiting for Ford Roadster and F40 now.
IMO new swaps should remain a mystery, but they should add more than 5 now and maybe multiple swap for a car as for now cars only have 1 engine swap. We could have 4 rotor Silvia S15, LS Mazda RX7, etc etc
Also I think it's not fair to be able to sell our bonanza engines. Some engines are expensive and i think we bonanza participant have an advantage enough over they who didn't participate the bonanza.

I don't think, that PD would really like to enable the "Bonanza people" to get (further) significant profit of the glitch.
The glitch was already blaming enough for the developers.
Now as they managed to make the game fair again (for the "after bonanza generation") by enabling to buy engines imo they wouldn't (and shouldn't) risk to destroy that.

I think these swaps are fuel efficient
I always thought flame throwing turbo engine like that isn't fuel efficient. I'm going to try it, thanks.
Engine swaps from race cars are all pretty fuel efficient. My favorites are the two BMW's with the Z4 engine and the two Skyline's with the R92 engine.
Cool. I'll keep this in mind too.

I guess the Suzuki V8 from VGT Gr. 3 is also fuel efficient?

Anyone knows what swaps are fuel efficient other than the rotary ones ?
Gr.2, Gr.3 and Gr.B engines.
For example, M3 E46 with Z4 GT3 engine easily finishes the Tokyo WTC600 race without a pit stop.

Other Gr.1 engines (e.g. Nissan R92CP) should work too, I guess...

How beneficial is the VR38DETT swap into the Silvia Gr.4?
It might become more powerful but the fuel consumption of road cars is higher... (The engine swap affects the fuel consumption, too)

I know it's the only Gr.4 with changeable engine, but... I'm not sure it's useful when it needs more pit stops in endurance races...
I have done this engine swap for this car, it fast but the fuel drained so fast. I race this car on 30 minutes of Le Mans and it takes only 2 laps to drained the fuel to 2-3%, but don't worry it still can easily win (even when there's no rain).

... I was wondering a while ago, why I didn't take a couple of cars for Le Mans anymore. Then I recognized. These were the "2-lap FM6" cars.
IMO too much pitting compared to driving.
It's even hard to measure a serious lap time.

Thank you for providing this type of info regularly.
It's really useful and very welcome 👍

I completely agree with your opinion. That's right, it's way more pitting than the driving itself. I don't like it, also. But it was just a part of my experience trying to drive some different cars on Le Mans. Because in the end, I'm still enjoying a car like the Mazda 3 with the 787B engine rather than that Silvia with the GT-R engine.

I'm having a really hard time getting some of these cars under control (lol). Like my 600 hp GTR engine 300ZX, come on now. A mild turn at 150 mph, while on RH, shouldn't result in the car instantly spinning out. Sigh.
