Seems we might have a new GT ambassador from the F1 world.

At the very least he's now an official PlayStation partner, or "Playmaker" as they've dubbed it.

Worth pointing out that this is playstation specifically doing this, whereas the Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton ("The Maestro" as he still is called in GT7) stuff were very specifically Gran Turismo.

Regarding center lock wheels it depends on the style of the race car I’m trying to replicate. Case in point of cars I just replicated.

The centerlock six-spoke RAYS 8In game don’t look like these. So I went with the truck wheels with lug nuts. I hate to do it, but they look closer to the race wheel.

The Advan car have five spoke And multi-spoke Enkeis. I could have used the OZ wheels or Enkei centerlocks, but I wanted to replicate the 1995 #25 livery.

Why PD haven’t given us these style of centerlock options are beyond me.

I'd pay upto £3 per wheel set if PD offered them as DLC.

On the face of it that's not great value, but if I could get some 80's centre-lock BBS, or disc OZ wheels as seen in '90's rallying, I'd be all over 'em.

It's money left on the table from PD for cosmetic items. While we're at it offer a selection of wheels already fitted to in-game race cars. Most are off-the-shelf items from specialists rather than OEM wheels where there maybe licensing issues.

Frankly, if they do the next major update then I want to see rather have new rims than a new race track.

I have two problems with the GT7 rims lineups.
One is that they are too biased towards Japanese brands.
And the other is too much bias towards modern sport/race style models. (Of course I understand both reason).
I think moreso the reason is licensing. The wheels that are currently available in GT Auto by a manufacturer of wheels would currently be for sale in their catalog and most retro wheels are not.

The old school, vintage, or OEM wheels would ideally be able to have a clause in the licensing agreement that they can be independently utilized, and then scaled up or down or extra width or offset. Or heck even just leave them at the OEM sizing and let them fit what they can in the car lineup. But since they're modeled they should at the very least be able to use them for most cars...

It can still open up an avenue for the inclusion of a current F1 car in GT7. We really need one.
It sure didn't when Vettel was in GT5 and GT6 (if anything, the Ferrari F2007 was simply a carry over from GT5P and was just thrown in alongside the F10 while having NONE of the current Ferrari F1 drivers at the time). Having Lando as a "PlayStation Playmaker" isn't a possible sign we're getting a Mclaren MCL38 just as Estaban Ocon being a GT Ambassador in GT Sport didn't magically give us the Renault R.S.19. All this is just setting yourself up for another disappointment.

Yes, if their (and many other racing game series) partnerships with individuals and racing series had resulted in "results", we would have had all the 2023 D1 Grand Prix cars and Pikes Peak cars by now.
And Forza would have had all the IMSA cars and Formula Drift cars, and would have had access to Hoonitron and Hoonipigasus by now.

Having looked at the car rosters of other games, the lack of cutting-edge race cars seems to be more of a genre-wide trend rather than GT specific. The general rule seems to be, if you aren't a licensed game for a series, and you aren't iRacing (who get everything, but obviously are 100% race car focused), then you might get one or two morsels thrown at you (the GR010 in GT's case), but there's really nothing out there other than iRacing getting a lot of 2021+ race cars from multiple series.

Which makes me think it's less likely that the tide changes on it, to be honest, because it's less likely to just be a "Polyphony being stubborn" issue.

'We' really don't.
Agreed, I'm pretty content with not just the F1500T-A that's basically a lawyer-friendly version of the Lotus 98T, but also the classic Honda RA272. Then there's the McLaren MP4/4, which I wouldn't just call an F1 car, but the F1 car. In contrast, I'm fine with the fact that the Mercedes-AMG W08 didn't make the jump from GT Sport to GT7, though I suppose it'd be nice to have just one F1 car from this century. Maybe we could get a machine from Scuderia Ferrari that Schumacher won a championship in.

Honestly, as far as any more Grand Prix racers go, I'd really prefer the Bugatti Type 37 before anything else.

I'd be content with a selection of Gran Turismo fictional single-seaters - particularly from the F1 3.5 NA era. The community would do an amazing job with liveries. All PD need to do is offer V8, V10, V12 engine options.

Super Formula Lights and a generic F3 car would also be amazing additions. Still very quick cars, but would more conducive to clean online racing.

In the same way, a stock car modelled after the Gen 5/CoT cars already present in the PS3-era games (with wing and braces as GT Auto options) could also work.

I would vastly prefer the NASCAR Camaro that entered the LM24 recently over anything else in that regard. For one thing, it's got functional lights, and secondly, it's set up in a way that lets it handle a wider variety of courses.

And in turn, that would make for a solid refference point for PD to make fictional equivalents for Ford and Toyota.

I've been holding my tongue on this one but I think it's about time I said something. NO PAID DLC IN A LIVE SERVICE GAME EVER!

Choose ONE:

Complete game on launch with paid "bonus content" DLC added later...

OR

A live service game that is barebones on launch but ALL updates are free.

Sorry to pick on you specifically, it's nothing personal, but I've seen this sentiment quite a few times here. Fact is, the game was lacking content on release and I think still is. Aside from the fact that the "bones" of this game are amazing, and have enormous potential, the only thing keeping me playing is that all the updates are free. If they would have released a more complete game on launch, then and only then would I consider paying for DLC.

I know it's frustrating to not have the content you want, and I really do feel you there, but the only thing worse, is having to pay for it. On top of the fact that obligatory (for GT) content was/is still missing.

Keep this sentiment up as a consumer and we'll be paying for a game title screen, that we don't even own, and every piece of content otherwise will be an extra charge. That damn horse armour.....

I doubt Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports would allow PD to make fake variants for the other two manufacturers
They aren't exactly making an official NASCAR licensed game and they aren't exactly giving away secrets that would benefit either so I don't see the problem.

You're right but the Garage 56 would have to be "officially" licensed by NASCAR since the gen 7 platform is their IP unlike the previous generations of cars, then you have Hendrick that currently owns both the retired Garage 56, the 2nd test car/backup car, and also has all the test and race data, then there's Chevrolet with the Camaro brand who has possibly the most influence compared to Ford and Toyota.

I guess I am setting myself up for disappointment.

Oh ok

So I was just doing my daily Sardegna grind and I was so distracted that I realized I had to pit right after the pit entry  But when I tried reversing into the pits, it would keep resetting me on the track so yeah, screw the grind for tonight I guess :grumpy:

I've made this same mistake a couple times when zoning out on the grind. Had to drive the next lap at 80km/hr and couldn't catch the AI before the race ended. After the first time I did it I changed the difficulty from Hard to Normal, since they're slow enough that you can still get back to first if you miss your pit stop.

I believe the Bugatti Type 37 is in the datamined car list and I was excited to see it there as it’s a car that should be interesting to drive. Although I could see it coming to GT8 as a Legends car for $20 million credits!!

It happened to me, but not by mistake. I was about to pit with another car ahead of me to the left when it suddenly veered hard to pit as well. They stay on the outside line until suddenly crossing the whole track to pit. I was already passing it into the pit entrance before it cut over so it ended up clipping my rear and spinning me to the left and sliding me sideways into the pit divider wall. The game immediately respawned me on the track and wouldn't let me back in to the pit.

Luckily I play on easy difficulty for grinding so I was already a whole lap ahead. I don't bother with treating it as a race when you start half a lap behind and have to be 5 seconds a lap faster. It's better to treat it as an open track day and just enjoy the drive with a much wider selection of cars.

Looks like I'll be collecting 1m from the online time trial featuring the Lancer Evo IX at RBR just in time, as it looks like the 330 P4 will be leaving the LCD soon. Good thing I'll have a little over 20m credits after I collect my silver medal, as the 330 P4 is the last of the three cars I need for the trophy.

Just did one of the weekly races in the Celica GT-Four. I forgot what a monster it is. Does anyone know if TOM'S ever made a racing version of the Celica? That would be such beautiful branding.
