Just did one of the weekly races in the Celica GT-Four. I forgot what a monster it is. Does anyone know if TOM'S ever made a racing version of the Celica? That would be such beautiful branding.
The Celica didn’t do a huge amount of solid-surface racing beyond the early generations in the 60s/70s. Corollas and Supras got a lot more limelight.

That said, the ST165/Gen 4 was built into a GTO version for IMSA in the mid 80s, and there’s a ST205/Gen 6 that did JGTC in the lower category. And of course there’s the Gen 7 GT300 that featured in the PS2 games.

So TL;DR no Tom’s/TRD factory Celicas, but there’s definitely people out there that have done up their cars in TRD schemes either for shows or track events.

Still don't have the funds and weirdly last I checked, still unavailable. Its also not helped that its seemingly always something else at the Apartment I live that decides to break or stop working that needs to be replaced or fixed.
Fair enough, wasnt prying just curious. Its crazy that stock is still hard to find this late in the machines life. 👍

Insider Gaming article on leaked documents about Playstation Spectral Super Resolution, the DLSS-like technique that will debut on PS5 Pro. One of the games cited in the documents is probably GT7 as it is the only internal PS Studios game that actually has the cited conditions.

Game 2:
Target – Add Raytracing to gameplay

Standard PlayStation 5 achieved 60FPS without raytracing, and PlayStation 5 Pro achieved 60FPS with Raytracing.

If I had to pick a single Celica out of those, I'd pick that last one - the GT300-spec 7th-gen model that we've seen in previous games. Would make a good Gr.4 car, too, though I'm unsure if I'd want that, or perhaps the GT300-spec MR-S that's also appeared in older titles instead, as far as another Gr.4 entry for Toyota goes. Whereas I think the 2021 GT300-spec Prius would go into Gr.3 alongside the GT300-spec BRZ from that same season.

I think the gen 7 would be able to just make Group 3 with BOP. That would certainly match up to the active classes better for sure, the old touring cars in Group 4 still doesn’t sit right with me, and that’s likely where the JGTC GT-FOUR (pun intended) would be placed if it came to the game.

Question: How long has "Set by Host" been an option for grid order in lobbies? I don't remember seeing it before, but I don't know if it's just something that's been there since day one and I've just not noticed/forgotten.

Me whenever people go on about raytracing

Your Gif uses RT which is why it looks so good.;)

For a title that aims to replicate realistic lighting and it's interaction with materials - RT will make a significant improvement.

GT7's replay mode has very decent RT but it's implementation is limited and of course only 30fps.

With a 2-4x improvement PD should be able to improve upon the quality seen in replay mode with RT implemented on reflections & shadows.

The Pro should also be able to deliver higher quality particle effects such as dust and rain. Plus higher LOD car models in-game.

Will be very interesting for me if RT while racing would look as ugly as in the GT Auto Shop while looking at cars and wheels. At least on my LG non-Oled it looks super blurry to a degree where you can't even recognise how a shiny metallic colour could look on your car.

The obsession with photo realism is one of the worst things about the current games industry. It extends development time, drives up costs, doesn't make the resulting product any more enjoyable and in the end just gets used for fanboy arguments & nitpicking.

Meanwhile Nintendo and the Switch are a mega success because they just make great games.

Was going to thumb-up your post until you wrote about the Switch. :D Can't relate to their games and don't understand the need/want to play portable.

But i find that for me somewhere between PS4 and PS5 graphics got just "good enough". I feel like every bigger game since Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity just looks good. I was especially pleased with Days Gone, God of War, GT7, and Kena since i got the PS5 (first console since PS2, only PC Gaming in between) in 2020. Always choose the 60fps mode due to graphics being good enough.

edit: oh, and of course Ghosts of Tsushima
edit2: oh well, take your thumbs up. it's more important than me not clicking with Nintendo :D

I always wondered why the Soundtrack never plays while racing in Online Lobbies, part of the reason why I liked GT Sport's soundtrack so much was because I would just go AFK and listen to it. Couldn't PD just give us an option to have it on or off?

Just saw those pics and thought it looks familiar. Isn't it the Legend Cars showroom?

Even their UCD looks familiar. ^^
There's a surprising number of converted tram sheds in Germany used for classic car storage - and the racking is just standard car storage stuff (although the glass fronts are neat) which you'll see at any business where people store their classics when not in use.

I've always felt that the LCD looks architecturally more like The Royal Ordnance Depot in Weedon Bec:

Agreed. I'd take all tracks having a full 24 hour day/night cycle and real-world real-time weather at a never-wavering 60fps over raytracing/lighting upgrades every day of the week.

It's great hardware, but there just aren't enough games to make it a big seller.
I wouldn't be surprised if they will get a surge in sales when they get PC compatibility
I had forgotten that compatibility was planned, it might help them to sell off their stocks.
