More than 420 cars is too specific to become more than 429 cars. More than 90 layouts won’t surpass 100. There’s always the chance for DLC though.
I don't think such an implication is valid. We can't deduce the size of the interval just by looking at the lower bound (which is probably rounded down to the nearest multiple of ten as well). I would say that the number of cars and layouts will probably not be significantly higher than 420 and 90, but there's no implication of a hard cap at 429 and 99, it could easily spill over into the 430's and 100's.

Except that modellers don't work on game mechanics. The studio is made up of people with specific specialisations - you can't just tell a bunch of artists to start working on physics and AI.

Does anyone know how many routes does GTS have currently? That will give us at least a rough idea of how many new (or new/old in the case of stuff like Trial Mountain) tracks to expect.
Yes but you also have to realize most of the existing cars had to be updated in regards to the car customization options (different wings, spoilers, sideskirts, bumpers, wide body kits and God knows what else).
Also as mentioned by another user, some duplicates might have been merged into one (race cars with liveries).

No, it wasn't. Adding only 1 race car but the naming is still the livery one, like Epson NSX. It's different for lumping all liveries into 1 like what Supra GT500 presumed to be, against only adding 1 livery and make the Super GT race (offline) consist of cars with all the same liveries.
Oooh, okay, I get what you meant now. Ye, that's a nice change, assuming there will be other liveries for the said cars and not just one.

What did I miss?

Legit chocked up watching the trailer. It's ticking all the right boxes. Bit worried about no physics improvements but will wait and see

Isn't it already the case with GTS? Don't remember if there's any identical cars with different liveries.
isn't there the mercedes F1 car? You can get the Merc version or a color variant. I think there are a few more, like the Lexus Gr.3 one maybe? not sure tho

Didn't they sign a deal with WEC, not IMSA?
They've signed a deal with both, oh and the BTCC as well.

Not sure if this has been mentioned (sorry, there are a lot of posts!), but cool to see the side-skirt and rear-diffuser options.

Anyone else clock the variable weather for the Nurb? And Le Sarthe has specific weather descriptions

This is just to show examples of different situations. It's surely dynamic, as has been confirmed here.

"Each car handles differently and feels unique as you navigate over 90 track routes in dynamic weather conditions"

Also, as visible in the trailer and screens, these are rendered clouds and not static skyboxes.

So, much to our surprise, dynamic weather is indeed confirmed for all tracks :)

Wonder if we'll lose traction in streams across the track. Someone showed the difference in surface traction percentage at Tsukuba. Would be really cool if they added those physics variations.

It does look that way, and from the screens shown, a clear dry line seems to form. The wetness meter seems to confirm variable grip, so a dry and wet line.

However, with that said, I'm not a huge fan of the actual wetness meter. Would prefer to keep it off and leave it up to the driver to determine grip levels. A little worried the meter will be too easy to rely on, as in for example when the wetness level reaches a certain number that is the optimal time to pit for wet tires. This will make strategies more predictive and less interesting.

Maybe it's a HUD element that can be turned off, we'll see.

We are sure that dynamic weather will be present on all tracks ? If so, that would be great
yes, this has been confirmed

I do hope that’s true. But going by Nurb’s specific “variable time” tag and Gran Turismo’s history of day/night on specific tracks, I shall keep expectations low for now

Not a single phrase or words in the trailer about physics. In a sim.

Just dinamic weather; old GT mode; GT cafe; GT auto...

No word on revamped physics and tyre/suspension models. Nothing.
Is not a simulator, those elements are not relevant here.

This is a product for car enthusiasts with a sort of realistic car behaviour and and engaging gtmode (Not a formula that is aging well in my opinion.. pretty outclassed by forza).

However is something that you have to try anyway... surely not something i was waitinf for.

I agree with this. GT7 looks to be more of a car enthousiast game than a true sim racer. I can see how people who wanted a true simulator are dissappointed to have not heard anything about physics or handling and stuff like that. I'm not one of those people tbh, if the game handles the same as GTS, I'll be happy. GTS is easy to get into and isn't as punishing as say F1 2021. This is why I fell in love with Gran Turismo. The car customizations is a huge W imo and is something that I find important, more so than changing the phsysics.

I do still want competitive racing tho. That's why in my mind one of the most important things that PD needs to change, is the AI difficulty. I don't really enjoy racing online and against AI theres just so much more to do vs online. AI competitiveness will also determine how fun the campaign will be. Fingers crossed...

Sounds like you're waiting for Assetto Corsa 2!

P.S. I'm glad they included the CLK LM, one of my favorites :D

I can't recall a Gran Turismo trailer that did include phrases or words about the physics, maybe they have once or something, but it's certainly no surprise. The trailers have always focused on the content.

I think we'll get an improved version of GT Sports physics, hopefully with some of the odd quirks ironed out and (on PS5 at least) running at a higher refresh rate. But I don't expect anything drastically different.
