Your point on relying on nostalgia is also not entirely true, for me at least. I completely agree with what you say about it, selling a game based/relying on nostalgia is never a good idea, only leads to dissappointment. Now in my opinion this game is not relying on nostalgia.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean with names of vehicles in race. You mean like the name tag above opponents cars? They do look kinda big, but I assume that's customizable. Has to be for a modern title.
How can you dislike the Jeep? I mean it's a new car and that's always good, doesn't matter if it's a Jeep or a Lamborghini. The more the merrier, right?
Planned release on 4 March 2022....GT7 page
I think they would have said more than 400 cars if uncertainty beyond 420 or 430 cars were a factor.I don't think such an implication is valid. We can't deduce the size of the interval just by looking at the lower bound (which is probably rounded down to the nearest multiple of ten as well). I would say that the number of cars and layouts will probably not be significantly higher than 420 and 90, but there's no implication of a hard cap at 429 and 99, it could easily spill over into the 430's and 100's.
As a loyal GTS player myself, I'd still be happy if the current physics, handling model and controls were carried over to GT7 but with minor improvements and added DualSense capabilities. Helmen Hurst confirmed towards the end of the stream that it will indeed make use of both the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback to enhance the 'simulation' aspect:I agree with this. GT7 looks to be more of a car enthousiast game than a true sim racer. I can see how people who wanted a true simulator are dissappointed to have not heard anything about physics or handling and stuff like that. I'm not one of those people tbh, if the game handles the same as GTS, I'll be happy. GTS is easy to get into and isn't as punishing as say F1 2021. This is why I fell in love with Gran Turismo. The car customizations is a huge W imo and is something that I find important, more so than changing the phsysics.
I do still want competitive racing tho. That's why in my mind one of the most important things that PD needs to change, is the AI difficulty. I don't really enjoy racing online and against AI theres just so much more to do vs online. AI competitiveness will also determine how fun the campaign will be. Fingers crossed...
The biggest showcase for physics were the video of the A110 riding over a curb.I can't recall a Gran Turismo trailer that did include phrases or words about the physics, maybe they have once or something, but it's certainly no surprise. The trailers have always focused on the content.
I think we'll get an improved version of GT Sports physics, hopefully with some of the odd quirks ironed out and (on PS5 at least) running at a higher refresh rate. But I don't expect anything drastically different.
I would have to say it's the LFA but the curvy shape looks like the R8. Im waiting for others to confirm.
That’s one possibility, but they say more than 2500 scapes and that’s apparently over 2600 if the figure seen in the trailer is correct, so it just seems to be a lower bound rather than indicating a hard cap.I think they would have said more than 400 cars if uncertainty beyond 420 or 430 cars were a factor.
Not a single phrase or words in the trailer about physics. In a sim.
Just dinamic weather; old GT mode; GT cafe; GT auto...
No word on revamped physics and tyre/suspension models. Nothing.
I can see how people who wanted a true simulator are dissappointed to have not heard anything about physics or handling and stuff like that
It makes a lot sense to reuse all that stuff, there's nothing wrong with those. I like the HUD from GTSport and I hope that it'll stay the same. It's kinda what you can expect really, building a game from the ground up would take a lot of work and it would certainly not be ready for release just 4,5 years later.Thats because you already know what the physics are like, you've already been playing with it; under the hood GT7 is still essentially GT Sport.
There are enough clues in the trailer.
- 1:35 The Cancel / OK graphic is still exactly the same.
- 1:36 The "set projection area", "layer controls", "decal colour", "edit decal" and "finish editing layer" buttons are the same.
- 1:37 The decal placement cross-hair and buttons are the same (except "projection method" button has been removed).
- 1:37 Apart from a few new icons, placement options and a slight tweak of the look of the interface the livery editor is that of GT Sport.
- 1:38 The decal library has been slightly re-worked so there are more task focused options on the left and less "in-and-out" of folders but its still essentially GTSports.
- 1:43 Scapes main layout is the same (although thumbnail animations have been changed to slide up and fade in).
- 1:44 Favourited Scapes screen is the same.
- 1:44 Car, Camera and Effects tabs at the top of the screen have been given rounded top corners. Boxes on the right have been removed, fonts tweaked and a few icons changed but still fundamentally that of GT Sport.
- 1:45 Same minor visual tweaks to the "camera" tab as the "car" tab, some options have been renamed.
- 1:45 "Rendering in progress" exactly the same as GT Sport
- 1:47 Individual scape selection the same (apart from a few teeny, tiny, minor tweaks)
- 2:03 No new scans of real-world tracks (even texture tyre marks are in same locations as GT Sport)
- 2:09 looks to be having a bit of an identity crisis but there are elements of the GT Sport interface.
- 2:14 Apart from a rain indicator icon players HUD is the same. Although, worryingly, it looks like PD may have removed the MFD!!! Water spray is still as weak as GT Sport and the rain droplets on the glass are that of GT Sport.
None of that tells me the physics will be the same as GTS.Thats because you already know what the physics are like, you've already been playing with it; under the hood GT7 is still essentially GT Sport.

haha i feel you. The only real PS5 game I have is Cold War and FIFA 21. I've had my ps5 for over 7 months now. GT7 and BF2042 will be the first games I'll be buying on release for my console. Finally i can play on my PS5 a different game than FIFA21/22 !!!
Huge budget can be invested on more pratical stuff like physics and handling, specially on wheels, and improve the game anyway for car enthusiasts, too. I have always liked GT like any other regardless I stopped playing it long ago, but I want to see an evolution all of iti combined wit the classic stuff, like the campaign mode which is the only reason I'm buying the game, for now.Is not a simulator, those elements are not relevant here.
This is a product for car enthusiasts with a sort of realistic car behaviour and and engaging gtmode (Not a formula that is aging well in my opinion.. pretty outclassed by forza).
However is something that you have to try anyway... surely not something i was waitinf for.
Yes and also tyre model could get better and some improvements here and there (AI and sounds)None of that tells me the physics will be the same as GTS.
I think they'll be unmistakably Gran Turismo but I'd be amazed if there weren't tweaks and improvements across the board. Especially with the modding and weather changes.
I don't like the original Assetto. To me that game suffers heavily from artificial difficulty, kind of putting off the need for enjoyment.Sounds like you're waiting for Assetto Corsa 2!
P.S. I'm glad they included the CLK LM, one of my favorites
There are some duplicates that are literally the same cars but with different names of drivers.isn't there the mercedes F1 car? You can get the Merc version or a color variant. I think there are a few more, like the Lexus Gr.3 one maybe? not sure tho
ooh yeah, like that Gr.2 NSX. That is ridiculous lmaoThere are some duplicates that are literally the same cars but with different names of drivers.
I don't understand why PD remakes High Speed Ring many times but Red Rock Valley never remakes. Personally, I prefer Red Rock Valley to High Speed Ring.High Speed Ring looks so much more narrower, I bet it'll race more like a traditional road course than oval. I'm praying they bring back red rock valley too, literally fell in love with that track on GT2.
