Happy new year !
Ok, but where's the Nike 2022, we've been waiting for years.

Not sure if this is the right thread but I found a video of a Fulvia 1.6 HF Fanalone from this year where they say that this very car has been scanned, dyno'd and recorded for Gran Turismo.
Dang it, if that is true, I might have to buy GT7 after all...
also that Delta Rally car was scanned together with 155 DTM.
That is from 2013...Ferrari P4/5 Competizione scanned by Polyphony Digital for PS4 Gran Turismo game
update: both facebook photo album and gtplanet article deleted, hmmm... Polyphony Digital employees were recently spotted at L.M. Gianetti, a high-end racing garage and engineering company based in Turin, Italy. L.M. Gianetti’s garage is home to some very special cars, including the...www.neogaf.com
yes it is. so thats when they started 155 DTM definetly. It took 8 years wowThat is from 2013...
Don’t tell me you truly believe it took PD 8 years to scan a single caryes it is. so thats when they started 155 DTM definetly. It took 8 years wow
well, it took 6 months in PS3 era without outsourcing (I'm not sure if that applies to newer vehicles with CAD models, or old scanned ones; and that it applies only to 3D model development). Scanning probably took a day at best, but there are another reverse engineering processes, 3d modelling, adding performance, testing and so on. I doubt that all phases are done in succession perfectly. But still, In my opinion, biggest reason why it took all these years, was probably because it simply held back for optimal time when it would generate most hype. Also there is licensing, but I think that gets resolved first.Don’t tell me you truly believe it took PD 8 years to scan a single car
I know they can be slow sometimes but come on lol
Nah don't be silly, they obviously gave the job to a Sloth. They likely took the scan, gathered all the data and then let it sit in a folder somewhere on their server until such a time as they want to include it and have the respective licenses etc. to accomplish that.
January and February always go by fast for me ever year, especially since the latter is objectively the shortest month.Going to be the longest 60 days ever.
I mean, you'd expect them to start pumping out marketing for it in the next couple of weeks. We should be getting a lot more information for most of that time.Going to be the longest 60 days ever.
What do you reckon the chances are that there's never an "in front of the scenes" version of those videos. For sure. Would be nice to get the full two hour video( ) interview, encompassing the features from the seven video behind the scenes.
Oh, I can imagine all the mistranslated translations. What do you reckon the chances are that there's never an "in front of the scenes" version of those videos.
Well, we're still waiting for "the future" part of Gran Turismo 7, AKA anything actually new. Hopefully that exists and is going to be shown soon. Because so far it's just looking like "past and present".
That isn't new, that's just improving what we already have. I'm asking for something new. It's surely not much to ask of a new game to have new stuff, not just a return of old stuff.Lazy trolling. They have already explained that they have an advanced more natural physics model, advanced weather and lighting model, improved haptics and trigger response, near instant loading times, improved graphics and more. What else are you asking for?

Other than cars and tracks, which are a given, what have we seen so far that is new to GT7? Mind you even tracks we haven't seen anything new yet, just returning.
thats probably only new thing in gt7 we know aboutKazunori Yamauchi: We don't have a system for simulating the amount of rubber that's laid on the track, but we do have a simulation of where the rain would create a level of water over the track. When a car passes over it, it will spray aside, and so the racing lines will dry quicker than the other parts of the track. That's something that is simulated and does affect the grip of the course accordingly as time goes on, and the track begins to dry in different places. The air temperature, the humidity, and then the road surface temperature will also be affected by these weather changes as well.

Even if I did post a list, that's not my job, is it? Game makers are supposed to surprise us with new features and content, innovation. You seem to be angling towards "What could they add, it's all been done" as an excuse for not having anything new.Again. Give an example of something "new" to a racing game you would like to see.
