The graphics modes don't affect gameplay at all. RT mode is RT on in replays at 30fps, performance mode is RT off in replays at 60fps.

I don't know if the modes affect RT in menu screens, but they don't affect gameplay at all.
There is RT in the menus like GT café and photo mode but is still 60fps.
RT Mode is the best way to play

I meanwhile bought the preorder back in october. shipped yesterday. but today i saw that it was unable to deliver due to damage in transit. I bought the anniversary steelcase. the one time in my life im comfertable with money i miss the opportunity. Got to be a joke man.

Something happened overnight i assume and the ones they could save from a crash were probs given to royal mail.

A wild straw clutch for the hidden engine swapping.. has anyone actually purchased the 'new engine' yet?

I wonder if it's some weird mechanic where the new engine is fitted and the old engine is stored to be used elsewhere?

Smoke now pours from cars after a heavy impact the video is on page 521 of this thread.

I think this is tire smoke from the tires being still overheating. Noticed in the drift video in State of Play, that after completing a drift and driving straight, smoke would still come from the tires for a couple of seconds. In this video with the Corvette, you can see the smoke stopping after a couple of seconds.

He said he played the game for two hours before attempting online. doesn't indicate anything about progression.
Forgive me for a bad link if it doesn't work, not used this forum much!

He says it takes a couple of hours to unlock multiplayer.
If you then skip to the multiplayer segment, he shows online racing. So I'm taking this as you unlock the mode afyer a couple of hours of single player.

One of what I'm really happy about is I can get one of my most-wanted paint item, Toyota's Super Bright Yellow.
I wanted the Altezza, MR-S or ZZT231 Celica to be in GT7 for the color, but it came from an unexpected direction!
The T200 Celica had the SBY only in 1993-1994 (ST205 GT-FOUR debuted in 1994, so it had the SBY only for 1 year).

Not to split hairs on something waaay off topic, but they did actually offer SBY on the Celica in 1995 as well.

I discovered this car at the start of the pandemic, and it’s at fault for taking me down the path of purchasing my own in real life. I’ll likely get several in the game and take one to spec out just like this fella. 😁

So for most users, I'd say no reason to use performance mode. Thanks for clarifying.
The replays with ray-tracing look so photo realistic, I feel like a kid playing GT1 again with how insane it looks. True work of art.

Most are best suited for using ray-tracing mode. 😁 The eye candy= worth it.

This is absolutely horrific news if true. Why? Why would they force you to keep cars you don’t want or like? So the garage isn’t really ‘yours’, you’re just storing cars you have to store. In past games, even GTS, ‘my’ garage is mine to control, my stamp on it, no unwanted clutter. Why on earth would they do this? I’ll end up hating certain cars/makers even more if I have to keep looking at them in ‘my’ garage.

I’ve no problem with temporarily owning any car if it’s necessary for a race or mission, but I wanna be able to dump it if it doesn’t fit in with my tastes. Enforced collecting is ok, enforced permanent ownership isn’t. How the hell is this supposed to be anything like real life? It’s Pokemon world stuff.

Seriously. PD need to explain.
That probably comes from the fact that you would lose achievements for collecting the cars, so your level in game would go down (which it is not designed to do). Somebody mentioned that you might be able to sell or delete them, if you have 2 of the car in question.

We'll know for sure only tomorrow...

IGN reported slight performance issues when using ray-tracing mode. Loss of image quality, slight stuttering during camera pans and such. Might affect what mode you go with in the end.

Probably because it would mess up the GT Café if you got to sell/delete cars you've already collected. It doesn't seem like the GT Café lets you follow your own path, you have to follow the menu books. Can't follow the menu books if you're not collecting cars.

[off topic] I saw you are from Umeå, then surely you know the genius Thomas Haake. :sly:

Very happy that they continues to offer us more tracks, cars and events :)

Yeah, possibly, but once you’ve actually owned a car it should be ‘ticked off’ on any achievement list/target and you should be free to sell it. In ‘my’ garage I’d rather have ten duplicates of a car I do like than ten different models I’ll never drive and resent being forced to look at even.
I wanna be ‘owner’, not ‘caretaker’.

I’m kinda hoping it’s Chinese whispers and isn’t true, that somebody somewhere is mistaking ‘can’t sell (for money)’ with ‘can’t sell (delete)’.
If it is true it won’t be ‘my’ garage any more, it’ll just be ‘the’ garage and that’s a big, big minus for the the way I view/play GT games...

(Or will the garage have a ‘basement’ area we can dump cars and never have to see them again?)
