I actually had a good race last night with randoms.. But the online mode is wayyyyyy behind GTS like I mean wayyy behind.. All you can do is be patient.. I’m sure PD know how bad the online is… My problem is I don’t want to drive in GTS it’s to dull compared to 7.

@MagpieRacer also take in consideration GT6 was just a buffed up GT5…
Indeed, but that isn't the point being made. My point is it's difficult to draw comparisons, particularly with launch content, when GTS was angling for a different thing, couldn't even classify it as GT7 prologue. Perhaps I'm alone in this thinking but GT7 to me is the sequel to GT6, not GTS. At which point the launch content is a long way behind. And even if we bring GT5 in to the equation, GT7 is still much lighter on single player content.

I'm sure that will change, but it is frustrating that it has launched with less single player content than every GT before it (and that GTS ended with).

But I don't care about dumb earning. I want to race properly and enjoy it. AI should have numbers for performance (70 to 120). I need info about AI cars in the race. Best laps, etc. I need to build champs with great earning or at least single races. Last custom race gave me 8000 and Jag is for 12 000 000.

What about Le Mans? The most expensive track is without any races? Most games can't even buy this track.
Taking the new LM licensing deal into account, it's within the realm of possibility that PD's Le Mans license is an old one, not unlike the Tesla license with regards to Elon Musk's recent "distaste" for people driving his cars in racing games.

I really do agree with the general consensus that the menus need to be updated with more endgame races though. That being said, withholding content to release it later as "free updates" is a bad industry practice that needs to go away.

Extremely unlikely regarding Le Mans. It's a sign of cut content not licensing.

I'm on the PS4 aswell (I use a slim), but I really don't see how you're thinking the visuals are now cartoony? It really doesn't make sense to me, they look about the same as in GT Sport in my head with some improvements here and there. and I would know, I was playing GT Sport for the past couple weeks prior to GT7's launch.

The same with the A.I., I don't see how you can think they're better in GTS when it's the same old rabbit chasing. It was one of the biggest criticisms of GT League mode when it came back in that game. GT7 is about the same except for the A.I. in the higher chili races. I guess they're more idiotic in driving, but I haven't seen a difference in that. The A.I. were absolute morons in Sport as here in 7.
One thing I've learned about graphics complaints is it can vary depending on what size TV and what settings they've got on it. I've got a big enough 40+ inch TV and GT7 looks way better than Sport! No contest. Complaints like those baFFLE

Looking from another angle, maybe Fallon had one of the later dev builds just for that short video(he couldn't be playing a retail copy sice those don't have the cut content) and those races were still being worked on by PD,kinda how in the gt sport live events drivers had access to future content that looked ready(Tokyo and RBR rain condition, new cars,Spa).
Maybe it was a dev issue and not a scummy one.
Not defending PD by the way.

Exactly, I was thinking about old deal too. No other game can have it or maybe if you have enough money. And they just place it there. It's rather sad.

Forza Horizon worked fine. I created 15 to 60 mins different races and enjoy it with different cars. And I won so many credits. It's not possible here. What is most funny, you can't save custom races. It's like game built by some dumb people. We have interiors in the menu like from real life but real racing is not there.

That could be why I see the visuals differently, I'm playing on a 42in TV myself.

I'm not too fond of FH myself, but that's for another topic. The Blueprint feature is very good though and in FH5 they added several new modes which are severely underutilized by the community. And FM7 had the ability to save custom races added in an update.

Yeah, that's the problem. Even if a game for casuals have it why real racing simulator does not? I think it's the most important feature.

It may have been pulled close to deadline due to bugs that couldn't be locked down in time for release. It is an awfully large amount of content though. 11 levels of café menu items. If so it may be longer than expected before we get it in game.

Or it was just the next menu that had issues and they didn't want to interrupt the flow of progress. I'm thinking work on Grand Valley wasn't quite complete. 😉

IF it's a dev issue, they must've been working on it since before launch and it might come in the first content update, just like the first GT Sport update(Monza if i remember right) must've been worked on before release.
I remember gta online files about the casino being found back in 2014 and the dlc came out years later

I'm betting Apricot! I still find it bizarre it was teased just to not be included.

Dear All,

can someon confirm that on the PS4 version of GT 7 the Thrustmaster T150 (console, game and wheel got latest firmware/updates) there is no force feedback on collisions etc.? Thank you!

Yes, they removed 11 menu books and however many racing events because one track wasn't finished. It's not like they could just change that track out in five minutes or anything.

The things people come up with to try and defend PD around here is amazing. Especially when so many are based on zero evidence.

i think they started working on the first update way before release
just like GTS where the first update was probably the biggest one so i expect they do the same with GT7 we just gotta wait a couple of weeks for that

Pretty much every GT has been like that.
There was one where you had qualifying but I don't remember which one.
As others have answered, no it wasn't. GT1-5 had grid starts for all main races. It was only a late patch to GT5 that they changed them all to rolling start chase the rabbit, and 6 was the first game with them from the start.

For the amount of times people use the old games to defend the current ones, they don't remember much about them.

Which was boring because you could easily tune your cars so you would always get pole position and lead from the front never seeing another car until you lapped them.
Nobody forced you to do that, did they? Which was a fault of the game anyway not presenting tight enough restrictions. In real racing series you can't enter a 150hp Clio race and turn up with a 350hp monster. YOU made it boring if you did that, not the game.
The all new PP system keeps people honest and if you play the high level races they are very challenging.
So why not use the "all new PP system that keeps people honest" AND have grid starts and qualifying? If the two things are so good and produce good racing, I'll have to drive fast to get a good qualifying position then I'll spend the race battling the AI in a clean and fair race from the start, right?

You know, like every other serious racing game in the world. You should try one some time.

I hate how now in time attack you never have the same circumstances... like wind direction/strength is different at start. I know its realistic but still.

I think it always was but they just didn't give you an indicator.

You can't even do that. I've just done a create race Daytona oval for Gr1 cars. Pro tip don't buy an LMP1, and towards the end of a five lap race a bunch of cars that were distant from me slowed. A lot. Rubber banding. Boost was off. I finished 4th but should have been 10th.

You could've quoted me,and no i ain't defending PD,just that similar things happened before,if they removed it just to pad out DLC content that's wrong.

I wasn't talking about you, I didn't even see your post to be honest and looking at it now, you weren't saying they pulled a large amount of content because one track wasn't finished. Someone else did that.

It must be hard to choose between releasing half a game and releasing a full game with a few tracks that have slightly more events than others.

It’s not that people can’t take criticism, the critics just sound like broken records at this point.
For good reason I’d say. The issues needs to be addressed.

I actually love the game for some reason, but it’s broken on so many levels.

The insanely bad economy and lack of good races are the biggest problems. But there are also tons of minor, yet very annoying things, such as having to paint the whole car a certain colour before being able to paint each part seperately, and if you “paint” the car with a carbon “colour” you can’t even paint the parts separately at all. Why?! Why can’t we remove the rear number plate? Why aren’t we allowed to sell cars? Why are there no tyre/fuel consumption and dynamic time/weather options for time trials?
