Curious, but what kind of pace were you running? I tried the exact same strategy but still ended up in 5th, some 20sec or so behind 1st. Leader seemed to do 1:34 laps consistently, with a 1:54 for their pit lap.

OK, only three, but still something new to do. Started on the K Car one - any advice? Not all 400PP cars are created equal apparently because I can't seem to make much progress. I'd already bought the Capuccino when it appeared in the secondhand shop. It's now got aero, a turbo and better brakes but I'm still struggling. Or maybe they are all equal, so starting from 16th is a bit of a problem

You need to go to World Circuits and navigate to the circuits that are indicated by the yellow marker to take part in the events...

Pit on lap 6, no tyre change, fuel for 4.5 laps. Got fastest lap.
Just do your race, overtake your oponents, draft them in the oval part, if the driver in front of you is an old group C (787b, r92cp, sauber c9) wait for a corner and overtake on the brake (their braking is their weakest point).
If, by leader, you are refering to wilk (peugeot vgt). He pits twice, last of them in lap 9, so he is not a problem. I think your main rival will be miyazono (mclaren vgt).

New menu books are fun so far. Had a good few races in my Cappuccino tonight. Next up is the VGT race, no idea what to buy for that though, so easy to drop 1mil on a dud! Anyone had a go at this and able to advise on a reasonable purchase for the event?

I just managed to win it using the Toyota and bolting on a mid-range turbo like you did. Tried the hard compound and nope it just doesn't have the grip so I went with mediums. The turbo made it chew even more fuel obviously so I found myself having to flick to fm2 on lap four to make it to the half way window. Same again on lap ten had to flick to fm2 as i had 1.2 laps of fuel left on the last lap and won by 4.2 secs. PITA now onto race two.

No it won't. The patch notes specificially mentioned it for Legendary Dealership only since it's the only one tied with Hagerty.

Daytona pays 115k (172k with CR)
Suzuka pays 175k (262k with CR) for 20 minutes (more than 20min with heavy rain)
St.Croix pays 210k (315k with CR) for roughly 25 minutes
Not even close to Sardegna GT3 (725k, 25-28 minutes) or Tokyo 600;Le Mans GT4 (825k, 27-30 minutes).
This means that if I want to buy another Gr.1 car racing only at Gr.1 events, I would need 4 wins at Suzuka or St.Croix, which is 1h20mins, just to buy one Gr.1 car. There are 21 Gr.1 cars and right now I have 5 of them, so I need 16 million to complete the collection. oof
We have Sardegna or Spa for those who love GT3, we have Le Mans for GT4 and we have Tokyo for tuned/sports cars. Why can't we have at least one Gr.1 event paying 550k?

I did the Gr.1 races with the SF19. Finished at Daytona with a 8 second lead on soft tyres and fuel map 1 with one stop at round 5.
Alsace I did with hard tyres, first 2 laps fuel map 2 and the last laps map 6. No pitstop, finished with a 50 second lead.

I guess that similar races for Group 1 will come. On launch there were only similar races for WTC 700 and 800 which also took roughly 20 minutes for 100-200k credits. I guess we will get 1 hour lemans race on group 1I'm really sad about the Gr.1 payouts.

Thank you very much for your race details. Unfortunately, I have been less than lucky when trying to replicate that combination. However, I have finally been able to finish the race in 1st place.
For anyone who's curious, my race details were:
-Race Difficulty: Hard
-GR010 HYBRID '21 (RH tires, mid-RPM turbo, all else stock and untouched)
-FM1 while heavily short shifting (before the red even shows up in the bar) in the infield, changing to FM6 as soon as the car reaches 7th gear in the oval section, changing to FM1 at the "3" marker board before the chicane, changing to FM6 again when reaching 7th gear in the second oval section, then switching back to FM1 immediately upon crossing the control line to start the infield section again
-Pit at the end of lap 5, no tire change, fuel all the way to 100%
-Mainly pacing at 1:31-1:32 laps with the fastest lap at 1:31.312, finishing at 15:49.659
-Miyazono 2nd at +2.397, Gallo 3rd at +11.477.

I don't remember my laptime but I did it with the Toyota TS050 on Racing Hard , FM1 all the way, Pit stop at lap 7 only refueling for 3.5 laps no new tires. Finished first easily enough .🤷

I thought a series was just announced? Either way, I wonder what is it going to be. Some "real life" experience, where a Gran Turismo player will eventually become a racing driver in real world, or something close to the game, with someone starting to race ****boxes and slowly get to a top racing series?
Probably the first option is more realistic, considering all the e-sports aspect of the game currently.
