Was going to finally get the Platinum trophy…

Once I saw the Jaguar in the Legends’ Dealership I tried to grind as much as possible

I finally get the cr.12,000,000 but then…

Yep. And it is situations like this why the UCD/LCD shouldn't be the only way to acquire the cars that are featured in those dealers. But, alas welcome to PD's world of ******* you over and wasting more of your time.

Sony also doesn't consider gt7 as live service game
and as Nathan said its not common for any studio head to give some intervies months after game premiere
Haha, I posted that in the "latest news" thread. Either it's human error or they just don't consider this game at all.

Herman Hulst visiting Kaz? "Kaz, they made me fly out to Japan to tell you that you need to get your act together. Or else we're shutting you down."

Indulge my speculation:. Kaz isn't on board with all the technology sharing that the other Sony studios are involved in and this bothers Jim and Herman.

Yea the events that were added should be labelled as 950pp races (or something similar). Proper Gr.1 races should be like the Chilli Gr.3 & 4 races!
I think they should both have the PP limit of 950, and be limited to Gr.1 machines, not unlike the car/PP regulations for the other two bonus menus.

Exactly. Just say “Gr.1 only“.

Then, there’s the problem of using a stock car. If people are into winning all the time, some of these events, the car needs to be tuned. Not just the tuning events, but like the Gr.3 Sardegna and Gr.3 Daytona events. Yeah, it’s how we have played GT games with buying a car and tuning it to be competitive, but the race cars are already tuned. A BOP should be applied. I mean, they are using the same cars used for the Sport Mode events.

Unironically all I would need to have almost infinite fun in GT7 is Sport's lobby settings and the return of the Top Gear Test Track. I know Forza has the licence, but surely they could call it something else like they did with Monaco?

It's a bit different with Monaco I imagine because it's not actually a venue, it's the city.

You can't really stop them from using real parts of the city as a track, even if a real race does happen there.

Just finished a Spa race and I get the message that I'm offline and my progress could not be saved... Just wasted an hour because of that stupid always online game.
Oh man, i would be fuming if that ever happens to me.

Current favourite race is the 30 minute WTC700 Le Mans. I love the way that, although the weather always comes in round about the start of lap 3, you never know what you're going to get. I've gone in for IMs then and come second. I've also done it and come about 12th because barely any rain actually happened. Or held off because it looked like the rain would miss and then it didn't. Cue 4 minutes of aquaplaning on slicks followed by cooked IMs because it stopped earlier than expected too. The AIs might not change a lot, but my race is always different. Love it.

The license is not exclusive, despite many people claiming otherwise over the years without evidence. There are lots of tracks GT doesn't have that it used to, and it's not because of exclusive licensing. Silverstone for instance. It's just not in the game because PD either don't want it or a deal can't be struck financially that suits both parties.

If licensing was what was preventing it being in the game, you would think Polyphony would just put it in the game titled as "Special Airfield Test Track" or something. Some alternative name like that french circuit in GT5 called 'Cote d'Azur'.

Truthfully, I'd say the reason its not in the game is because Polyphony Digital and Kazunori take themselves way too seriously nowadays to include a silly airfield circuit in the games track selection along side tracks like Le Mans. If that stick is inserted so high up, they can't even leave the Trial Mountain chicane alone... then more lighthearded stuff like airfield circuits are probably off the menu for good.

Lets be real, it's incredibly likely that Polyphony sees some of these licenses (specifically, Lotus and Silverstone as those are the most famous examples) as too expensive to spend money on, even though they are very much apart of a conglomerate that rakes in hundreds of millions and can very easily afford the licensing.

But then again, this is also the same developer and publisher combo who spent however much money to lock up Pikes Peak exclusivity for no other reason then to spite other developers who could have very easily made something out of the license, so who knows really?

Please understand, this is a company that failed to retain the licenses to their own VGT program like the Fittipaldi and the Nike...

Expecting new licenses is simply too much to ask, especially when players are at the same time stealing from them by grinding credits on Tokyo instead of buying microtransactions.

Oh, it really is, do you actually believe that, for example, paying the fees for licensing is entirely done by PD? what about SIE, or PlayStation Studios? are they only there for just making presence?
They are of course one and the same, PD = Sony, Sony = PD, when it comes to licensing. But there is still surely a choice from PD. They still decide what they want negotiated in the first place.

It's surely a choice that Driveclub contained licenses for Bentley and Koenigsegg but GT hasn't, for example. If it's the same people at Sony doing the licensing.

I think it's more along the lines of the devs going to said companies for said license, license names a price, and Sony merely gives the go ahead.

Last time I checked the license to these cars are owned by the Manufacturer/Designers while made/developed in collaboration of PD,

I mean its hard to renegotiate an agreement with a company if they've been inactive since 2019...

I’d like to see PD introduce some ‘open-world’ community areas for online. Back in GT5 the Top Gear track was used as a meeting place.

Car meets and such are a big part of Japanese car culture. So I’m surprised we don’t have these open spaces. It would be very easy to build as they’re basically car parks.

Oh, and what I’d give for a free-to-roam Tokyo road network. Keep the individual track configurations. But find a way to connect them.

getting the sense online that this game is going to see a big drop-off in active users this week.

while i think its over-dramatic to say 'the game is dead' when its one of the best-sellers, because there's still 30-50 hours of content for new users.... it feels like they've systematically removed things that kept people playing after the menus were completed.

the BOP has flattened Sport mode - not to mention they just removed the only casual competitive racing option... and the people who felt compelled to own every car are also worse off. there's still no way to race customized/legendary cars online easily. i am personally OK with them attempting to fix the transmission/PP glitch - its not the most egregious thing they've done - but then they didn't offer at least one more 30-60 minute race.

Is it me, or have we not had a BoP update chart since launch? It would explain some things - like how the next GTWS Nations Cup round at Autopolis permits all Gr.2 cars, but on the chart, all I can see is the Honda NSX Concept-GT '16.

If they wanted a circuit like that they could put one in, no problems. But that doesn't mean they can just rip off Dunsfold Park/Dunsfold Airport by changing the name, and put it in the game. It's not the same as Monaco, Monaco is public roads (like the Isle of Man), Dunsfold is a private business.

It's also nothing like the EF-7. The EF-7 was a car going into production, there's no way Fittipaldi Motors didn't have first dibs on them rights, and depending on how/why they closed, those rights almost certainly now belong to someone that doesn't have to honour a defunct comapany's agreement with a third party.
