Here's a fun little game for you lot - get a Civic Touring Car, set the front ride height to the lowest it will go, then take it to a circuit.

It. Literally. Will. Not. Turn.

In fact, numerous cars are unable to fully turn their wheels once you minimise their ride height, but none to this extent.

I have 2 theories as to why we still can't sell our cars:

1. There is a genuine issue wherein selling a car from your garage will remove it from your collection. PD haven't managed to find a solution that allows you to sell cars without reducing the number of cars in your collection.

2. PD intentionally withheld the feature to push microtransactions. They didn't want people to make a quick buck by selling cars like the previous games, so they decided to implement a "collection" feature to ensure that no-one could sell their cars. However this doesn't explain why you can't sell a duplicate that you bought intentionally.

even route x?

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I also recently tried Wobble 2, and it was actually the first time in my life I got experience a hint of motion sickness. Not the sort of pain you mention, but just a weird uneasy feeling that felt like a precursor to nausea.
I usually use wobble 2 when I just trying to take an easy drive but yesterday I try to use it while driving the 917k at Spa.

Bad idea, especially driving through Eau Rouge 😵‍💫

Try the Beetle.

Known "feature". Polyphony decided that steering angle should be restricted so that the wheels do not foul on the bodywork at low ride heights. It's arguably graphically preferable to just letting the wheels clip through the body, but the lack of the sort of feedback that you'd get in the real world (scraping and rubbing noises, smoke and burning smells, feedback through the steering wheel) means that it ends up looking like a bug even though it's technically a more realistic representation.

And because cars have dynamic ride height when they're just driving around, if your ride height is right on the limit you can brake hard and suddenly find that you can't steer as the nose dips. It's not great, and the "realism" it adds probably isn't worth the amount of people who have just been frustrated by this. Games are supposed to be fun, after all.

It seems implausible that Polyphony's original solution to tracking collection level is so janky that professional developers can't figure out a way around this issue in six months.

I mean, it does. If I channel my inner business executive, I think I'd feel that selling duplicates would result in less credits that the player would potentially want to buy from the store. Any source of additional credits is potentially competing with MTX. Deleting them is fine though, as is encouraging players to buy 10 of the same car (which is honestly just a really weird trophy outside of the context of MTX).

This might be what Nenkai implied since he said selling cars wouldn't be a straightforward process. Also, there is the factor of the game's scripting language being redone (from Adhoc to Swift[!]).

Anyway:

Tech notes about the promo livery:

I really miss the old 1-2 minute update trailers PD would make for GT Sport. I get why they're cut down to just 30 seconds now (TikTok and its consequences), but the new trailers just don't do it for me.

To this date, nothing will top the hype of the build-up to the Supra's return in the January 2018 trailer. Although the build-up to the W08 in the July trailer definitely came close.

I have an engine-swapped MR2 and would like to have another one with the stock engine. However the car is currently unavailable at the UCD. Is there still a way to add it to my wishlist? I'd like to be notified when it's in stock again.

I started GT7 two days ago. First impressions, so and so...

I have two questions.
  • At which progression point, does Brand Central open?
  • At which progression point, does Arcade Mode open?
I don't even know if Arcade Mode even exists. In previous GT, Arcade Mode was available from the beginning and few cars from all categories were available.

Brand Central: Complete the Menu Book No.4.
Arcade Mode: World Circuit → Select a course → The Arcade Race is on the left side in the menu below, and the Custom Race is on the right.

I do hope they fix the WTC 800 and Gr.1 Prototype Series races to be not as crushingly hard. I also hope they fix the latter to not have two Inastrozas and to actually limit it to Gr.1 cars. I think recently, they did change the regulations for the Alsace One Hour, where it used to be limited to 450 PP or less, and now it's 460 PP. (Or was it always 460?)

Who knows what the new daily races are for this week? I know I'm lost
You'll be wanting the Daily Races discussion thread:
For reference, they will not replace the existing ones for another... sevenish hours.

im tryna see some classics though.

Tokyo R246, SSR5-7, Grand Valley, Autumn Ring, Apricot Hill, Midfield... where you all?

for starters, get all the GT1 tracks onto the game... only two missing?
We've got 3 out of 11 GT1 track layouts (not counting reverse) in GT7. Since we don't really need PS1 Test Course (better to have Monza Banking), you could say we have 3/7 locations, 6 if SSR11 and 5 are next door to each other like Dragon Trail.
