The game would be much better if every race had the Maggiore AI for Hard difficulty (or maybe a 4th difficulty with all the chilies).
Better is questionable, even though I agree...

But it would definitely add a lot of longevity! 95% of the content was "one and done" races, never to be started again lol

WTF are PD Doing are they determined to destroy the GT game format. I was hesitant to buy GT7 after how GT sport was on release, sport got a little better after several updates. I had hoped they would of learnt from Sports release but no they are taking giant leaps backwards and this latest up date is breaking a broken game even more. Ie today the Le Mans 30 min race hangs after the results screen .
I DEFINITELY won’t be buying the next GT game on release day no matter what preorder offers they put out.

am i the only one who unironically enjoys gt7? It has its own flaws but is a great game
I could only be considered a masochist if I spent hundreds of hours in a game I didn't enjoy :D

The issue is more how PD has completely fumbled it when it comes to the live service, and that's ultimately where the disappointment lies. The game was sold under the expectation of GTS-like support and so far it's been behind in every metric.

Discussion/advice - I've been looking at the YouTube vids of this game & wondering what benefits id have upgrading from my HD/1080 TV to a 4k TV or monitor - but looking at the 4k vids online they don't look any truer to life, if anything they look more "game like" ?

The HDR implementation is fantastic, the game looks incredible on a 4K HDR display. HDR is something you need to see first hand or through a HDR video on a HDR display. The colours are richer, the blacks are deeper, the overall colour gamut is wider, and this complements the lighting.

It really does look stunningly real at points - on an overcast day, especially, it can look almost like real footage in a replay.

In SDR it looks great, but HDR gives it that extra fidelity with regards to brightness and colours.

HDR monitors are definitely coming along on the top end in terms of brightness, and I think the newer top end monitors have pretty good HDR, but I believe TVs still do the best HDR.

Here is Digital Foundry’s article on the best 4K TVs, from the best budget set to high end displays.

HDR is a bigger upgrade than resolution. Most YouTube vids won’t be in HDR. YouTube compression also kills the finer detail of 4K. You will notice the difference with your own eyes.

You don’t need to spend crazy amounts. Mid-range Sony, Samsung, LG all very good for gaming. My Samsung is 2 years old and ‘gaming mode’ sets everything up for you with one press.

Here's how some of my ticket gifts changed through this update. Didn't have the Roadster Shop engine yet, so that's definitely a plus. However it looks like there's no point in saving up any tickets gifting you a car.

I have seven more tickets saved up that aren't included in this screenshot. Some of them were originally gifting me tuning parts and seem to not have changed either. Another one that gifted me 30,000 Cr. before the update still gifts me the same amount now.
I found this too! Had an AMG A45 ticket pre update. Wanted something different so saved it and when I opened it today it was the same!!

Amazing that there's a "LEXUS LFA???" just below it.

The Lexus LFA is becoming the new "SUPRA WHEN???".
Because it makes no sense for the LFA to be missing in a game with stuff like the Autobianchi, 7 Silvias, 8 86/BRZs and numerous duplicates of the EK9, DC2 and E30. Same goes for stuff like the C8 Corvette and everything from Koenigsegg.

The driving gameplay is superb, I come back just about every day to do time trials (though I'm still waiting for custom time/weather in tt mode). The replays are beautiful, and there is no doubt in my mind this is the best car photography game yet made.

However, to get cars, you need a lot of credits, and to get credits you need to play the campaign, and unfortunately the campaign was released as a bare-bones tutorial with not even half as many events as the afterthought GT League added to GT Sport, and so I finished it in six days.

Since then, rewards for the then-highest-paying events went two steps backwards and one step forwards, and four longer races that you might expect to find in the late stages of a GT game were added in April.

The May, June, July, August and September updates have added only sprinklings of early-game races, alongside major price increases for classic cars, and PP system tweaks.
Nothing has been done since April to address the lack of an end-game, and there's no official plan to do anything.

Ideally, we'd get a major overhaul with many more championships to utilise what the game has.
Pessimistically, GT8 is funded, but stay tuned to GT7 each 28th of the month for nothing in particular, in the meantime, if you win Spa 1hour, Tokyo 600, Le Mans 700, and Sardegna 800 110 times each you'll have enough money for most of the cars.

Possible PSVR2 work going on with GT7.

Incidentally, Sackboy, Uncharted Collection & Miles Morales have now all been dated for PC. The only undated Sony PC releases are Last of Us & Returnal. The latter of which is on Steam DB so an announcement is imminent.

That means Sony will have ZERO (officially) announced PC releases for ‘23 and beyond. But their financials state PC sales/releases will more than double next year.🧐

Something that just popped up my mind: How long until mainstream automotive/gaming press speak out on their criticism of the VGT program just like the players do?

It has come to my attention that the payout of Custom Races are based on the stock PP of your car.

So, using the new rotary-swapped Cappuccino to decimate Gr. 1 cars at Route X, I've been paid 31,000 credits for each lap, or 46,500 with a clean race bonus. With each lap being 4 minutes long, I can make almost 700,000 credits per hour.

Which is nowhere near the best-paying events, but unprecedented for custom races.

Gaming press (ignoring racing-focused sites like GTPlanet) probably never. If anything I think it's likely it'll be posed as a positive that shows how connected GT is with the brands of something.

For whatever its worth from what I've seen the casual perspective is more or less that GT7 was grindy, people complained and they fixed it with an update and now the game gets content regularly.

Oh, I’m a have to try that. ;)

What’s so bad about it? I get that not everybody likes the cars but I can’t imagine it being something that deserves such negative press coverage. The manufacturers are willingly creating cars for a video game, seems pretty harmless to me.

I swear the VGT discourse is blown way out of proportion here, not just in this post but the GT7 subforum generally.

I've done the Le Mans 700 race 3 in a row with 3 different cars. The game seems to freeze immediately after the results are shown and not getting the prize money. Am I the only one getting this bug?

Probably never. As much as I don't like VGTs, they don't annoy me as much as other issues in the game. Sure it'll annoy me a bit when 1 or 2 VGT cars are included in the monthly update but it doesn't look like an issue that will catch the attention of the press.

Unfortunately is a bug that seems to be back again. Now we have to wait for a quick fix from PD...

At least I still got the credits after finishing the race. In previous patches this happened to me only at Sardegna, but now is happen everywhere, even on custom races.

Someone will write a script, I'm sure!

On some other news, their last minor graphical tweaks.. have been a mixed bag. (PS5)

While the game looks clearer than before, IQ wise, looking really sharp, some things are aliased now, which weren't before because of the TAA blur.

These tweaks are nice, but this time I'm not too sure better sharpness equals better graphics. Clouds are looking a little better, but stuff like the edges of the fences have this MINOR "flickering" look to them.
